  1. Loving the introduction of a fire script, so I thought I'd suggest this for future updates of the fire script. Short description Fire Alarms that alerts the Fire Department to a possible fire in a property. Detailed description Rather than have a text alert that alerts FD each time of a fire, a fire may start without FD being alerted at all until someone calls it in OR a fire alarm is activated. Overall brief: An Automatic Fire Alarm system can be installed in any property by the Fire Department at a one time fee at the request of the owner The Fire Department can then also provide fire safety tips and can use this time to carry out an inspection if needs be When there is a fire in the property, the Fire Department will be alerted of an 'Automatic Fire Alarm' activation at a property and will send units The Automatic Fire Alarms may also sound accidentally The Fire Department will always respond to fire alarms, whether true or false, as it's better to be safe than sorry Types of fire alarms: Commercial, residential and other (hospitals, police stations, water pumps, sub-stations...etc.) The type of alarm will show to the Fire Department, so they know what sort of response to send You'd buy the one that suits your type of property False alarms: There's also a chance that the fire alarm may be a false activation that can be caused by a variety of other factors (RP wise these would be; power cuts, rain, dust, fumes, technical faults and much more). Some fairly random percentages as to the chance of whether a fire is genuine or not: Commercial (general) fire alarm: 10% chance of being an actual fire, 90% chance of being false Commercial (industrial) fire alarm: 5% chance of being an actual fire, 95% chance of being false Residential fire alarm: 30% chance of being an actual fire, 70% chance of being false Other fire alarm: 20% chance of being an actual fire, 80% chance of being false Commercial, and industrial properties are more likely to have false activation due to a variety of work that may be happening there e.g. construction, painting, machinery, fumes, chemicals and simply a lot more activity that may cause dust...etc. If an automatic fire alarm is determined to be false, the Fire Department can /stopalarm at a property. Commands to add For FD/Property-Admin: /createfirealarm (brings up a small menu to select which type of fire alarm to install in a property) For FD: /stopalarm (so that the fire alarm can be stopped once it has activated) For FD and property owners: /activatealarm (to test the fire alarm or to cause an illegal false activation) Items to add A fire alarm installation menu A section in property menu to show you have an automatic fire alarm The option to manually activate it (to test the fire alarm or to cause an illegal false activation) When the fire alarm activates: The type of alarm, location and time will display to the Fire Department in the same way the 911 calls do (and possibly on an MDC in the future) The Fire Department can then use command /stopalarm to turn off the alarm when the fire is out or when it's determined to be false How would your suggestion improve the server? It's a more realistic alternative to being alerted of a fire It will alert the Fire Department whether people are around or not, as most properties in the server are not-occupied or have people around them Furthermore it can lead to larger fire role-play if a property doesn't have a fire alarm system and the fire goes undetected until someone discovers it It would also give the LSFD something to do during quiet times - as most of our RP relies on other player's RP which is usually in the evening And lastly it increases non-emergency role-play between the Fire Department and property owners Provides an income for the Fire Department Additional information I'd like to see the Fire Department be the ones who install alarms using a script, but it may also be an option to have property admins do it This suggestion is for property fires only and not for wildfires I have alternate suggestions for different types of fires The reason I suggested this here and not on the FD forum is because this suggestion also involves other players and their properties. Without a fire alarm they may lose their property to an undetected fire which has a huge affect on their character story.
