Unfortunately, this topic, like every topic that includes both the illegal and legal communities, is bound to fail. It's disheartening that we can't engage in mature conversation as a community on this matter, instead, we resort to posting snarky, trollish, or unhelpful replies that do not contribute to the discussion and only serve to stir the pot.
I will bring this up in the Legal Faction Management Discord, and we'll go from there.

Hey everyone,
As the campaigning period commences, we're happy to announce the two mayoral candidates.
We have selected @Mecovy to be the mayoral candidate for the Democratic Party, and we have @NexusExodus running for the Republican Party.
We've received a few independent applications; however, none of them met the requirements we set. Moving forward, we have opted not to prolong the application period. Instead, we will proceed exclusively with the two confirmed candidates we currently have.

However, we highly recommend reaching out to a political party and seeking their endorsement.
On another note, the Democratic Party is looking for a new leader. If you are interested in applying to become their Chairman, please send a private message to @Sharvit, @Biscuit, @Hood, @Reece? and @george?. Share your interest in the position, highlight any relevant past experience, and present your vision for the party's future. We are seeking a dedicated individual who can provide high-quality political roleplay within the factions while understanding and maintaining the separation between in-character and out-of-character political differences. The aim is to continue fostering a cooperative roleplay environment that remains functional and inclusive.
Alternatively, if leading the party is not your aspiration, but you still want to contribute and be involved in the political scene, you can join their Discord server (CLICK HERE) and liaise with the current leadership.
Requirements that must be met before applying to become the Democratic Party's leader:
- Possesses a relatively clean administrative record or has a significant time gap since the last administrative action, assessed on a case-by-case basis;
- Displays a willingness to collaborate and cooperate with other factions;
- Demonstrates a clear comprehension of the server's rules and maintains a high standard of roleplay quality;
- Exhibits a demonstrable level of knowledge regarding legal factions or expresses a strong desire to acquire such knowledge;
- Conducts themselves with strong courtesy and professionalism as a future legal faction leader;
- Applicants are required to have at least 150-hour in-game time, irrespective of the character used.

Here's how the election will unfold:
To streamline the election process, we're using an approach without unnecessary complications. Legal Faction Management will provide a one-week window for interested possible candidates to contact the Republican and Democratic factions and express their interest. During this period, the parties will assess the suitability and reliability of their potential candidates, and LFM will have the final say in approving or disapproving the candidates as we will be conducting checks in tandem with Roleplay Quality Management.
After the internal party review, the GOP and DEM party leadership will publicly announce the endorsed candidate for the mayoral race. These candidates will receive the official support and backing of their respective parties, which can significantly influence their campaign strategies.
Following the conclusion of the signup week, a campaign period of twenty-one days shall commence. During this duration, candidates will have the opportunity to establish connections with the electorate, businesses, and factions in order to garner support for their campaign. They can engage in various activities such as organizing events, disseminating advertising materials, and many more.
To ensure a smooth voting session, UCP voting system will be used, mitigating any potential technical difficulties. The voting process will follow the traditional majoritarian system, where the candidate that receives the majority of votes will win the election.
To replicate the two-party system in the United States of America, we highly recommend that you consider becoming a member and actively engaging with a political party. By joining a party, you can be part of their candidate roster, which will undergo evaluation and approval by Legal Faction Management.
