  1. There are cases when it can be fairly realistic. I'm pretty sure my kid cruncher Camacho with the ground clearance so high can handle some train tracks. Like I said, it's something that needs to be judged on a case to case basis, how it was done, what was the vehicle, speed, what not. It's not that you cannot do it at all, it's that it's currently done in a manner of /complete/ disregard towards realism. If you set a certain rule towards what can or cannot be done, it'll allow people to have that chance. It's kind of like robbing nowadays, where cars cannot be used for quick cash muggings. There's a rule in place that prevents a certain thing, but it doesn't restrict something entirely.
  2. What if I decided to /not/ pay said fines on my character for awhile and just let it be? Not like it's a big deal. IC consequences by getting a jail sentence. Understandable. But what if I don't pay my fines and get killed, or NC, or whatever? Why should I be now forced to pay them anyway? Why do they remain? I did that before. I didn't pay fines totaling 10k for months, I didn't care about my dirtbike being in the impound and neither did care about the sentence I could receive by not paying them, because the character was already a felon, and already had multiple vehicles. His priorities were elsewhere. After awhile, I NC'd the character because the RP flopped and the fines still remained. They should have went away. My new legal character shouldn't have outstanding fines just because some retard who couldn't read properly didn't have the mental aptitude of paying them, or just didn't care enough to do so. Like mentioned previously, when things from an old character impact a new character, usually it's in the form of MG. But suddenly, when it comes down to fines, that is totally understandable, legit and should be done. Because for sure, a new character with old fines from a previous one is definitely deserving the impending sentencing if detained in a traffic stop. Props to logic, I really dig it.
  3. Yep! I'm all for implementing rules rather than straight up disabling or taking away a certain thing/way/action. Then it's also easier to weed out non-RP'ers and the likes. Win - win. Suckers get jailed and later banned, those who abide remain. Justice!
  4. -1, I don't think you should block it off, but rather just implement a rule that states what would be realistic and what wouldn't. I don't think using a Sandking or one of those hippo-giant trucks is unrealistic. If a pursuit goes in the tunnels with a lowrider, sure, everyone can /report about it and just get it sorted. But if it's a vehicle that can technically handle it, like that one monster SUV from Mirror Park dealership - why not then? That thing can run over a TOP10 fatzo on a mobility scooter and not feel a thing. I'd say, case by case basis, implement a rule, it's not that hard. Blocking it off completely is not an answer. That's like prohibiting swimming because some dipshit decided to marathon swim through the canals and into the great ocean to escape a foot pursuit. Admins are there for a reason - to judge a situation and come to a conclusion if a rulebreak occurs. If there's no rule to break, then ofcourse that people are just gonna do what they can. It's not that hard. And you know I'm right.
  5. I feel the same way. I haven't done a robbery request recently, but the last time I did, I waited 50min to rob a pawn shop, just to find nothing, set the alarm off and cops were already waiting for me outside. So I waited 50min back then to get a quick felony charge, and to get shot in the face with a beanbag shotty. Hahah, I remember that one well, it was funny, but looking back at it, it wasn't even worth trying or waiting. Another time I had requested an arson, just an admin to light up the front of IMEX as I RP a molotov toss from my car; it got accepted, I think, after a good 2hrs of back and forth. At that point I didn't even feel like doing it anymore, so I withdrew from it. It can be... quite interesting how long you have to wait to sometimes get something answered or accepted. No offense meant, nor do I mean bad by this; i understand there are a shit ton of players, doing both dumb shit and asking normal shit; but god damn.
  6. I had this happen 3 years ago or so, had a character fined so hard I couldn't do anything about it. It was a low life character, had a CK happen after a bit and the next character took the fines over. Wasn't nice, but I think some admin removed them for me, I remember it was a big inconvenience because 50K in fines on a fresh NC wasn't exactly nice, considering the character already owed nothing and I was not going to grind jobs or do any type of "work" that was out of line with what my character was supposed to be just to be able to pay off old fines. Either way, I agree they should stick to the same character. They shouldn't carry over. If I get CK'd or just decide to NC, I shouldn't have to pay a giant amount of money (if it's a big amount). Fines should be treated like PF and CCW licenses - NC or CK? Bye, it's all gone. Why it isn't treated the same way? Well, who knows. Also have to take in consideration the sole fact that if someone actually would decide to NC or CK themselves to not pay a fine - what's the issue? It's not like people don't do that already to avoid things or consequences. It isn't entirely something new, nor it introduces a new issue. If it happens, well shit, not a big deal, that's on them if they want to P2W and lose a character over a fine just to save money. Maybe that money is needed to fund their RP? Not everyone wants to mindlessly grind trucking, or even have jobs that pay well. Maybe someone just needs money to buy a car or a house to fit their RP. You have to remember - looking broke as shit in this server costs more than looking rich. Rusty scrappy cars sometimes cost more than premium rides; and furnishing/buying an apartment that might be something "lowlife" also isn't easy to find, nor cheap to do. It depends but that's just an example I'm providing that once NC'd or CK'd, someone could/would need their resources to fund a new story. An old fine from a previous story shouldn't impact my story on a new character, nor hinder my ability or change the course of my playstyle. If that's their decision, then so be it, but overall - just drop the fine transfers. It really makes 0 sense, and you know I'm right. P.S - I remembered. The admin gave me the money to pay off said fines after I explained my reasons. Didn't remove, just gave me the cash for it.
  7. I like to just develop on my own when the server is dead-ish, even if it just means doing nothing much. Even RPing checking up on your car can be good for future interactions - you've got something to RP around from what you did earlier. Go to open places, even if it's just a 24/7, still something. If you really feel burnt out, make a new character and do something you've never done before. That's how I got into legal RP after 4000+hrs of illegal RP over 10 years.
  8. Give me admin perms I'll make it my /duty to become a robbery accepter/spectator. That'll be the /shit/. +1
  9. My guy what's wrong with cat ear wearing lesbians? It's like comparing ice cream and crack - one is just fine, the other one will fuck you up. Damn man.
  10. Wasn't that the faction I'm talking about? With the church Sadie and the scrapyard RP and the whole Route 66 thing? Shit, I think it was and if so - it was the golden era of RP.
  11. I used to RP 90% of the time in the county back in 2020-2021, literally spent close to a 1000hr of my playtime there. And I remember the same old shit, same old talks and topics from back then. Even 4 years ago, Sandy was a mix of both legal and illegal RP, which mostly was, well, illegal. There were several great factions that did both, they brought amazing balance to County RP. I don't remember what they were called anymore, one of them was led by an admin and had rednecks and stuff, there was church RP that even I did with them, and I know absolutely nothing about religion, but said people and players led my character IC to visit the church with them. There were cafes, diners, lots of cool things. Moonshiners and what not. It was never just illegal. And I mean, I started to play in the county as a MEXICAN homeless guy. Who ended up joining an MC and whatever happened later. I was legal/illegal at the same time, and there were no issues. Even currently, I still RP around the county. I've never been met with an issue. I don't know where and what or how do you get into so much "shit" in the county. I literally got robbed in my first 15min around the city a few days ago, and this morning some mallrats which turned the Mission Row bank into pizza stacks were bashing my car for literally no reason, basically trolling. As someone with almost 2000hr spent in the server, most of it coming from county RP - i do not understand. I really, really don't. Now, I haven't been around for too long currently, but it seems like things are the same as they used to be, just seems like less active in general (activity and business wise). And people who say, county is this, that, infested with this, that - c'mon. Back then the county was ran by predominantly 1%'er MC's and had skinheads, rednecks and a whooooole bunch of shit you didn't wanna mess with, neither as a regular illegal character, neither as a legal city player. There were MC wars, Mongols vs Vagos all around, we had Grim Order vs Vagos, then Sinners vs Grim, skinheads, hell we even had Davis people coming down with pimped out vans and jeeps coming to shoot "the rednecks for a lick". Mallrats and city folk a lot of time came down to troll the absolute shit out of "rednecks, hillbillies and broke people", I'm saying that as someone who used to run a business there. We had it go all ways. I was robbed multiple times by people in cars that belong in Nurburgring. Spinning it around, I was also robbed and touched by the locals. So, are people actually pushing "legal RP" back or is it just that maybe, just maybe - it's the players fault? Things never changed. Nothing ever really happened. Robbing is still there, illegal shit is still there, and you know what, I'll say it. I think currently there is much less illegal activity in the county than it was back then. But that's just my opinion. I can't see a solid reason behind the upset of so many people, honestly. And i've done both legal and illegal RP around the county. At one point I had a German legal character with a PF license working as a security guard, and I had literally 0 issues with anyone. No one minded. Shit, I think I had even better RP from that character with locals than when I had a real redneck character, but maybe that's just the style of RP that changed or w/e. It ain't the "factions" and it's not the "illegals are bad". Upsetting or not, I think it could be just that - the players fault. It's RP. You get shit on as a legal character? Find a way out.
  12. I've had a Bison loaded with unmasked Italian RPers robbing me at the side of the road as I was RPing a crash in the desert... In a rusty Emperor that costs less than their guns. I'd say their portrayal is dogshit but then again what do you expect, its a desert, everyone is an easy target there.
  13. Just use SweetFX, you can pretty much overhaul the game with it.
  14. Thank you Capo. 'Till we meet again, eh'?
  15. We are locked in this tiny little world. And the dead stand between us like wraiths. Sokol is a 35 year old ex-fixer and a handyman from Albania who moved to the States in 2019 with his sister to establish a new life after he was fed up with the life back there. Worked as a full time mechanic, specializing in car electronics and as a side job; Part-time fixer for some of his friends. His sister sadly passed away in an apartment fire last winter. Sokol has been on a decline for awhile that includes and is not limited to; Occasional drug usage. Alcohol. Gambling. Reckless driving under influence. He is now turning his life around by settling in a brand new apartment, on the other side of the city, further away from where memories keep eating him up. Sobering up and getting back to work, he's still broke and has to pinch pennies, paycheck to paycheck. Sometimes he has money. Sometimes he doesn't. Sokol is a simple man. He doesn't necessarily need a pile of cash, but he thinks it would definitely not hurt to have it. Most of the time he simply thinks on how "good" it was to be a fixer back in his twenties, having at least... Some sort of "stable income". But that time is past, no more of that... "Imagine living with nothing much, but that's enough to keep your head above the water? Tell me you don't want something bigger and better. You are a liar. The world will decline you." Certainly broke, but hopeful and positive. He's got problems, but he's taking care of them - so, no stress. "I got this, definitely man." The thread will flow along the tales, adventures, routine, horrors and everything else that will come Sokols way. Sokol is a 35 year old from Albania that specializes into vehicular electronics and other electronic devices. He comes from a small, two child household from Eastern Albania. Grew up on the "streets" and graduated high school with a diploma. Further on worked as a mechanic and honed his skills around electronics that were quite new back in eighties and nineties. Was tangled in small-time criminal activities as a side-job. mostly taking the role of a "fixer" that arranges things for others. That earned him additional cash that did not show up on his accounts and that he was free to spend wherever. Nearing thirty five he and his sister decided to move away to America so they can work the same jobs, or something better, but with much higher life quality. Overally being much more wealthier and more established. Months after moving to Santos he was already working as a mechanic near his rented apartment, earning money that was enough for everything in his eyes. His sister died in an apartment fire; Possible arson. Case dismissed. Sokol was fired due to "Not carrying out job duties; Unnotified absence, regular; Under influence while on shift". He began spending his savings on; Drugs, alcohol, gambling and more stuff he does not necessarily need. After some time a breaking point happened and he quit being a lowlife. Trying to better himself up and get back to being "established". He's got a long way to go, but it'll be fine.
  16. I barely play anyway nowadays, guess it's time to say I'm done with the server.
