MrsHamster
Like a lot of people said above me, you go where your character story leads you, and if it leads you to a relationship then why not? I personally love roleplaying relationships, and especially having family members ICly. Being alone sucks, you can RP that you come from a big family but it's all NPCd at the end of the day. Having an actual sibling, parent, cousin that actually roleplays with you just adds up to the realism and the RP experience. You have someone to RP with you, someone to complain to, someone to turn to when you need a shoulder, and you can actually roleplay that and not NPC a skype call to your family. I wish there was a more developed platform for people who are looking to start a new character where they can look for other people that want to have a roleplayed family, that could be great. 2 Link to comment
Chef
I never actively sought out an in character relationship or asked for it, but as someone said earlier if two characters click then I will indulge. It adds an extra aspect to the character and depth to the story as a whole. Especially as someone whose characters are primarily career criminals, it's interesting the types of scenario that will grow from that. Memes aside, the ERP thing is something I could never get down with. Just do a quick /me or a vague /do and move on, why do you need to be writing a script for the next Fifty Shades movie? ? I always tell people who try to RP a relationship with any of my characters, no ERP. If they try it anyway, I'm out. Link to comment

Even when it's done decently well, it can be creepy, like going over your friend's house and there's hardcore porn playing on her computer, and you're like, umm, should I wait in the car? this feeling of being uncomfortable can stay with people, and they express it by saying how much they hate ERP. They've probably seen some really bad portrayals, and that might've fixed what they think about it. Hating ERP is not a joke. ERP is a sin, and needs to be eradicated. I, the Grandmaster of the Holy Order of the Anti-ERP Crusaders, will not rest until ERP does not exist in any facet. My goal is a noble, yet difficult one. We have made some progress over the centuries, but the heresy continues to spread. Help us eradicate this global menace. 7 1 3 Link to comment
