Disallow entry fees for casinos.

The entry fees are simply stupid and only show how greedy the people that manage casinos are. In the small chance that a casino does make a loss per opening, people still shouldn't be guaranteed profit every opening and should be aware of the risk of running a business.

I agree but people who roleplay there as staff shouldn't be penalized over their employers desire for profit, this is the only reason I support entry fees at all. If entry fees are scrapped, casinos will just move to membership only. Which tbh would actually be preferable to entry fees (and would be realistic) but in turn, it'll mean less people in casinos because it costs more upfront and more people complaining ooc that they shouldn't have to buy a membership to get in a casino. It's silly.

Why would the staff get unpaid? People who run casinos usually have hundreds of thousands in reserves on their personal bank account. Even if they go unpaid, they can always sue the person in-character for unpaid shifts. If casinos move to membership only, they'll be making less profit, I can guarantee you that.

Personally I'd like to hear from someone who actually runs a casino so it's not so one sided, rather than from players upset over a $500 entry fee and making assumptions that just because they're running a casino they must have an infinite supply of money. But that's exactly my point, if they move to membership only they'll have less people going, open less and there will be less casinos in general because people don't want to pay membership, but it'd still be more realistic, yet people would still complain. They'll complain no matter what, even if it contradicts prior complaints.

What you guys fail to understand is how flawed the blackjack script really is. I've single handedly wiped 3-4-5 blackjack dealers who kept dealing $100,000 - $150,000 and even discussed it with them about how broken the system truly is.

Albeit, there's always a chance you lose every single hand, it still hasn't happened.

The reason why the entry fees are in place because sometimes the money generated through the low-stakes tables isn't enough to pay out the staff.

A rule that you should propose however is; having a system installed that takes a 1-3% cut from all the poker hands, essentially every winning hand, half of the money goes over to the casino.

But then again you'll be faced with a whole set of other issues, the regular gambling roleplayer enjoyers will start to complain about it as well, so it's gonna be a never ending battle.

April & Edgars are currently running Royal Rebel, that's the only casino that doesn't charge fees. Diamond Casino on the other hand has over 10-15 employees at a time. Maybe Dor can relay some information on it but then again a whole lot of issues need to fixed beforehand. The blackjack script is partly fixed, people still can't see their hands.

Also then again it's entirely an IC issue as well.

In that case you should read my responses, as I've done quite a bit of bookkeeping for a casino and I agree with him.
