Engelbert
Short description: Basically change the hotwiring minigame to something more relevant. Detailed description: So hotwiring shouldn't require a lockpick, not sure if it does, but the lock system...let's say that something like old plumber game where you put together a sewage system before water starts flowing would do better for hotwiring minigame. Or find an exit in a labyrinth or even better something like all those hacking minigames from other games. Put a small puzzle together, pick correct wires and untangle them from all the others. Make it timed maybe? When an attempt fails you try again, but the car alarm system aimed at hotwiring, maybe make the car unavaliable for hotwiring, a cooldown. Commands to add: Command is there already. Items to add: Don't know maybe, make it requiring a screwdriver or something. How would your suggestion improve the server? I think it would improve the car boosting scene alot along with possible revamp of /breakin, maybe adding more options, but that's for another suggestion. Car boosting and breaking into cars should be more fun and of course how is a drug addict barely able to afford daily food, supposed to buy a lockpick for 10.000? Additional information: I feel like revamp is needed. I Edited September 22, 2021 by Engelbert Link to comment
Robyn
less need of the lockpicks is good, as long as it doesn't turn into the stupid ass descrambler shit from LSRP Link to comment
Engelbert
No no, the minigame should be balanced and easy to understand so you can do it faster with each hotwired car. Link to comment

I played on another server which had a CEF image with moveable wires that you twist together. Link to comment
QuadTurboW16
Car jacking is definitely something that needs a revamp but this suggestion is not it. If you think it's realistic to be able to hotwire a car just by twisting some wires together under the dashboard then you've watched too many movies. There should be different ways to steal cars from different eras, like you can't steal a 1986 Honda the same way you would steal a 2016 Audi, and it's definitely not something as easy as your average joe can do with a screwdriver. For example, these thieves successfully stole a modern BMW using keyless car theft, which essentially extends the range of the key fob to trick cars with a keyless entry system to think the key is nearby and inside the car. The whole process took 5 minutes. Link to comment
PeopleKind
Or just force people to stop selling lockpicks for unreasonable amounts. Ten grand for a tiny piece of metal you can buy at walmart for 5 bucks? Like come on. 1 Link to comment

Sure later down the line maybe the dev team can look at different ways to hotwire different cars, but that takes up a lot of time and effort, not to mention the thinking process of how to decide which car gets what and how it's actually implemented into the server. So, as for now... A CEF "minigame" of cutting wires and then connecting them would be much more ideal than essentially Skyrim lockpicking for the hot wiring side of things. Link to comment
