I can understand that this may conflict with some roles that property management plays, but are there any thoughts or discussions on how that could be realized despite the challenges? Since office leases are now on the market for /availableleases and can be done without an application - this is something we can definitely look into! 2 Link to comment

Right now, the current system is so buggy that I have to constantly make sure that the leases that people terminate - go back on the market. The only issues that arise from something like this - is that the business scripts still need to be given out via from PM as you guys can't give that out - and do you want people to not fully own the lease, etc. If they rent the office, then we are not inclined to give out the bscript as we've always wanted a commercial property to go with it that players own. So that's something that we need to work through too. Link to comment
Jax
If a landlord is not handling the complex alone, and it's not some crazy number of rooms, let's say 13 rooms. Does PM expect it to be looked at as a full-time job? Even if you have a team of +5 people to assist you with the responsibilities? 1 Link to comment
Rhelli
Could we hear back about PM's expectations before the actual system goes live? Personally I'm curious about the following things: How often should landlords hold complex-wide events? Maintenance and repairs is obviously something that should come into play. Will PM have a checklist or guideline on performing these, or is this up to landlords? Landlording is a very reactive job. Unless tenants roleplay things breaking, complain, there's not much we can do. They might have the events channel muted. How can we force them to actually interact? 2 Link to comment
Waldur
For starters - motel and hotel rent prices should be a lot higher, so they would be actually used as such, as temporary place of stay. This will also make more people to search better alternatives. If you are worried about the starter characters then sure, maybe they don't need to pay at all the first 40 hours. Link to comment

Most players don't spent up to 3 hours 7 days a week on the server. There's some guys who roleplay once or twice a week with some breaks due to IRL stuff. Forcing them into interacting with a landlord would be unfair. It's highly unfair to subtract a weekly rent from someone who doesn't use that space. We shouldn't turn landlords into the necessary evil from real life. You could try reading Smith, A., ‘Of the Rent of Land’, in Wealth of Nations. Edited November 29, 2023 by munnezza Link to comment
