Variety and nostalgia probably. Overall, GTAW has been going for 4-5 years now and the playerbase has grown incredibly compared to its first year. Yeah, everyone agrees that the roleplay quality has been declining year by year but in my opinion there's still a massive variety of groups that open new avenues for people who want to switch and find enjoyment in something else. I think this variety and amount of people is able to keep the playerbase going for a few years more before the mask epidemic turn us all into ski mask bangers hunting opps in the streets.

I thought about this idea so much too. But you have to see the state of illegal rp when it comes to fairness is at the bottom right now. People will literally log upon sight of police when they think they have a warrant and then come back to game to spawn at a faraway property. Now imagine the lenghts they will go when they will know their car stopped vparking and it might have for one reason only. The best bet would be for a /report to get it spawned. But admins will either handle in game reports in 2 minutes or within 2 business days after you post it. It's a flipcoin.

It's not at all easy to track. You're looking at a massive community of illegal roleplayers against just a few admins. It can't be tracked enough right now, why do you think it could be tracked easier when you allow even more room for this problem to get bigger?

Or we will get a bigger increase in throwaway criminal characters who arrive to los santos and acquire a gun through their OOC faction their first hour and go on a robbing spree. It's already a problem, it'd only get worse.

I don't quite understand the point of this. Why is it better to ask them to stop than to hand out punishments for using malicious mods such as cheats?

Title is what I am looking to figure out and gather opinions about. Back in June 2021, the community was quite upset when an announcement came from Nervous about cheating becoming incredibly common and a new script to detect cheats was being deployed with 82 accounts were already identified to be using different kinds of cheats. The announcement continued to further explain that this was going to be a verbal warning to all people who have been cheating this entire time, so that a mass ban wave can be avoided. Later on, Nervous was going to state in another discord that if they were to ban all the cheaters that were detected, they would have banned half of the illegal community, indicating just how actually common the cheating clients were. This obviously upset a lot of people because verbal warning to people who are blatantly cheating were unheard of. This moved on with Nervous stating that through the new script, these cheaters were going to be identified on the spot, especially the ammo cheaters and with the community uproar, Nervous further added to this announcement that if a cheater had already a record for cheating and got detected again, they would get a ban and not a verbal warning (?) and in time people settled to this. It has been two years since in this community and yet again a number of people were identified to be cheating after such verbal warning. Specifically, ''Logs of players using no recoil, no collision scripts'' were handed out to the staff. Along with what seems to be a promising yet another script to detect cheaters and just like the last time, a number of cheaters already being exposed over it on the spot. This once again follows a pattern that instructs them a way out of this upcoming ban, just after the last mass verbal warning: ''These players will recognize themselves and I highly suggest uninstalling all cheats before launching RageMP again in the next days, to avoid a full ban from RageMP. Do not cheat, it wasn't worth it before, it's even less worth it now as it'll block you entirely from playing gta 5 RP'' In my head, this update could have been deployed silently and it would have saved GTAW staff the effort to keep records of banning cheaters somewhere. The community would have also been freed from a number of cheaters too through this. But instead, the cheaters were given a heads up about an upcoming cheat detection script and was instructed on how to avoid getting banned for their cheats. Just like it happened the last time a cheat script exposed a number of cheaters. I am a bit lost on the reason of insisting to keep the cheaters around, what is the importance of keeping cheaters in a roleplay community to preserve them so religiously? Discuss. EDIT UPDATE: It keeps going on in an endless loop.

There is no such thing as criminal roleplayers being held to higher standarts at all. As blunt as this is, criminal factions don't care whether or not the player they are about to recruit has 18 admin jails this year and is keen on breaking more rules onwards is what there is to it, so a difference appears when you compare admin incidents with legal factions. No judging there, but the statement you made is just wrong.
