  1. None of this results in a situation where the relevant problems have been addressed. It shouldn't be a surprise that the rules aren't changed.
  2. I'm not surprised at all. Nervous has stated repeatedly that the community doesn't want to go back to a situation where players go masked 4-deep, get their /me's copy pasted and ready to then cut some random guy off on the sidewalk and immediately get into a situation where they are at an advantage by default. There haven't been any serious proposals where this has been properly addressed, so why the surprise?
  3. So instead, you suggest to create new rules based on which you then won't report either? Because you know, nothing happens anyway right?
  4. Did you report any of this on the forums?
  5. So they'll just hand their guns over to friends before they name change. People aren't going to let their guns and drugs be deleted if they can avoid it, let's be real here.
  6. We didn't have signatures when these rules were created either. @kilerbite maybe its time for a revision?
  7. Regardless of the side of the argument, you just started the paragraph by saying you dont agree that people abuse this command, and then described a situation where you abuse the command. The person you're replying to is perfectly correct and you proved it. Fixveh is used for convenience 99% of the time, and only rare for actual bug resolving. Thats just how it is. We all see the red text warning that it is only for bugs, and we all ignore it. That's just how it is. This all started when the command changed to include a teleport mechanism, somewhere in 2020 I reckon. Before that, people logged into their character where they left off the previous time, spawned their car, and moved on. Since this command has changed, a lot of roleplay potential has quietly disappeared and has made way for convenience. No need for a taxi, no need for public transport, no need for a towtruck, no need to call a friend, not running into random situations. If that's what you prefer, then just say so. No need to dance around and pretend /fixveh isn't abused. It was used for when you spawned a car on top of another car, and it had tipped over, like /vflip. Now its just a convenience tool so people can stay as much in their own bubble and avoid random interactions. You do it, I do it, everyone here does it. That's the direction we've chosen as a community and that's fine. Just be honest about it.
  8. These are the most sensible answers. Add a year every 1-3 months, adjustments for things like prison time. One of my characters aged 22-25 years in about 48 months, another only about 7 years since I've only played on that character on and off.
  9. I agree, but I think this is in line with what happens on average with real life professions translating to GTAW. You see more excesses, because boring situations aren't fun to roleplay. Security roleplay is no different than any other in that respect.
  10. I mean is this entirely unrealistic though?
  11. From the last five threads about this; Stock markets will not happen because of the following issues. There are a few variations of this, each with their own game breaking problems. Stock markets based on IG events This is the worst suggestion type of all. GTAW is a small environment and having stocks change in value based on actual trades is not feasible since the traded volume and frequency are too low. This makes it not only unengaging but it also means there isn't so much an issue to manipulate something, as there is not even enough to manipulate to begin with. Additional problems are that a significant amount of time and/or money has to be invested into getting this set up as a platform to begin with. Whilst more depth and interesting mechanics in financial draws more crowds, this is not balanced relative to other development needs for GTAW. Stock markets based on real life This is the closest you'll get to an interesting experience, as you are outsourcing the unpredictability of a stock market to the real world. With a proper set up, you essentially get to play rich private investor with GTAW money and real life markets. This sounds fun, but there are significant problems. With outside markets comes outside money. This has to be generated from nowhere (and also removed if your character loses money) and there is no good alternative I can think of. This creates a significant risk that additional money will flow into the economy, through a mechanism and a set of probabilities we have almost no control over. A platform still has to be set up in order to facilitate transactions and provide for a link between player input and real stock market trends. This is also the weak link in the concept. The internet has many tools at its disposal to keep track of the stock markets. Anything available that outpaces or provides a quicker response time than a linked GTAW trading platform gives an advantage to players who are smart enough. Now, this is not entirely unrealistic, but it means that with the right set up, you can be faster than the platform and therefor always outperform the system. For this reason alone, a system like this is disqualified. Stock markets based on random values Taking the two concepts above, you can remove two concerns by randomising market trends, the manipulation concern, and the stability and outperforming the platform-concern. However, you also remove the advantage of the real-life variation, which is the depth of real life markets. This is a big loss for this concept and removes much of the interest. You also do not solve the problem of money being added and subtracted from the economy, though the problem is significantly smaller here, since random values aren't likely to give unbalanced results. It becomes gambling on random chance, which is not really all that engaging. It also still requires development time, which isn't very appealing if all you're creating is another way for players to gamble but with even less interaction than actual gambling. The above reasons are just some of why this won't happen.
  12. Please use the search function. This is not a good idea.
  13. This is definitely the way forward, but then I hope you will also be there for the discussions when it comes to things like helicopter rules, body cams, etc. Because usually, then there's a flood of people posting how this isn't fun and realism matters a lot except when it comes to body cams.
  14. That's 10 more variations right there.
  15. How would you recommend that players who currently are not considering South LS for civilian RP approach this? Can you give some examples of this potential?
  16. I think the community should put more value, attention into non-LEO/non-faction legal roleplay. A city feels alive by having actual characters doing actual every day things. LEO and illegal roleplay are two sides of a playing field, where civilian roleplay is just as important. However, it needs tools, support, attention, and dedication to remain interesting. Civilian roleplay, unlike LEO and illegal roleplay, is on average much less confrontational or competitive in its nature, and thus requires a different kind of attention to remain challenging. Right now, team attention specifically for businesses and other non-factional civilian roleplay seems to be split between Property Management and LFM, and development is geared a lot of IFM and LFM. I believe that, despite their best intentions, neither of these teams can dedicate enough time for civilian roleplay development compared to what it actually deserves. Overall, we aren't doing a bad job as a community, but I think that it is important that we focus on this more than we do already. What I'd see as priorities; Better support for business roleplay (mainly script-wise, they're quite behind factions) More openness and proactive support towards new civilian roleplay concepts Promotion of semi-illegal civilian roleplay, blurring the lines between legal and illegal Promotion of community projects/factions, which aren't necessarily criminal organizations or legal businesses, but just local communities
  17. But nobody is being forced to play here. Its game. Its free even. Spend some time with your family or something.
  18. Link to actual mod files please. I'm pretty sure we're all caught up on basically every decent lore friendly vehicle mod that exists. If a new quality mod is released, its being considered.
