GTAW 3.0 part 1 : Enjoy two cities with your characters!

Areas such as Little Seoul, Davis, Rancho, and so on are empty, there is a lack of illegal factions because most have moved to LC. The only way to balance both cities is to place limited numbers of illegal factions in both cities. Which can now be done since you can travel and interact from one side to the other.
Legal roleplayers have remained on LS, not all but many have not abandoned. Like those from PD, FD and some other factions.
What are your plans to balance things out? So far I don't see that as a solution in this thread.

How is this going to play out in the long-term?

  1. Why should players invest their time making new characters for re-balancing of both servers
  2. If the total player base gets split in two, just imagine LS feeling empty at 400 players, now imagine LS on 200 players constantly.
  3. What if there's people already way too invested in the place where they're roleplaying, I don't see how the benefits will help re-balance the servers at all.
  4. Despite the UCP and whatnot and forums being merged together, that's probably not going to help with the division between the player base.
  5. What if the advertising doesn't work and the player count goes down? Will 300 players be balanced between two servers? LC Both will feel empty and desolate in that case.

I don't see a way this plan would help save one or the other server from dying. Even if there was big benefits to going back to LS, personally, I wouldn't go. I feel like making two servers when the total active player base is 700 is just going to mess with everything even more.
LS needs more players due to the size to feel active, yet at the same time LC needs less. That would mean for both servers to have considerable amounts of activity there would have to be 500-700 in LS and 400 in LC at peak hours. Chances are, advertising is barely going to work because this is a heavy, serious, text oriented RP server, not a lot of people enjoy those as we can see by the players on voice RP servers with heavy RPG elements in them.

TL;DR Servers are going to probably both feel dead, balancing won't help when players are heavily invested in their characters.

1) They don't, that's the whole point, you can just move your characters without having to lose progression and make new ones.

2) That's... exactly what's happening and what we're trying to fix.

3) No difference with 1)

4) Not sure to understand at all the link

5) What's the difference from today? We're already at this point, what do you suggest, closing LC?

If merging, advertising doesn't work, then I'm not sure what else you're suggesting except fully closing a server.

Nice! Should consider cheaper travel options with a catch. Longer time to get back and forth. Add a bus option(Greyhound Bus Line) or Train(Amtrak) to get to and from Los Santos or Liberty City but make it take 2 IRL days via greyhound bus and 3 days through Amtrak Train(no speed trains out here yet).

i see a lot of shilling for this two server + travel between the two idea but in my eyes this hasnt solved anything, lsrp's last update was essentially a bug patch and we've had nothing since, servers more stagnant than a cave in mexico and we're out here turning it into a turbo rpg
