The reason is why is because... Not every vehicle is the same. Some people test different cars differently. For example, if you're buying an offroad truck, you're going to want to test drive it offroad out in the county, not in an empty parking lot. If you're buying a sports car or a bike, you're going to want to be able to test it on the highway so you can test the top speed and whatnot. A parking lot just doesn't give you enough freedom to test the vehicle. It's also not realistic. In real life, you don't just drive around the parking lot of a dealership when you ask for a test drive. They let you take it out on the street and they definitely give you more than just 5 minutes with it. This is better because you can properly test the vehicle in any way you want. A small parking lot will suffice for anyone buying a regular sedan or SUV. But for the more 'special' vehicles like offroaders or sports cars, it would be better to have more freedom in how you want to test the car. And since this will take place in an alternate dimension, people can't abuse it. Can't do crime when you're not in the same dimension as everyone else. If you want more anti-abuse, maybe also add in a system where the player will have to pay for any damages sustained to the vehicle during the test drive. This is a good idea, but I feel like it should only apply for the more expensive vehicles. Like maybe 100k and above is where you have to have the money before you can test drive. This is how it is in real life if you want realism. In real life, you can totally test drive a car without having enough money to buy it. And realistically, most dealerships are more than happy to let you test drive a car because it'll potentially convince you to buy it in the future. The only time they don't let you test drive it is when the car is on the expensive side. That's how it should be on the server. You should be able to test drive any car below 100k at any time. Yes player dealerships allow you to test drive vehicles but sometimes they do not have the vehicle you're looking for and if you're lucky maybe a player will allow you to test drive it. But If we can test drive it in a diffrent dimension for a set amount of time it would be great. Aforementioned above by someone the handling.meta is adjusted server side so vehicles will not perform the same if we were to go into sp and test it ourselves. I am in favour of this suggestion above of course if it is possible. Link to comment
