I doesn't matter, one bit, whether or not the people you are talking about are Sicilians. You are making this up in your head. Sicilian Mafia = Cosa Nostra Sicilian Mafia ideals that spread to the US and became the American Mafia = LA COSA NOSTRA. The American mafia families, Genovese, Gambino, Bonanno, Lucchesi, Colombo and any other family in the US, are LA COSA NOSTRA. It doesn't matter how many generations they go through, those organizations are classified under LA COSA NOSTRA by themselves and by the FBI and by literally everyone on earth apart from you for some reason. i see i see Link to comment

Well, you don't see us in fedoras, or presidential suits, with two tommy guns under each arm, threatening to kill politicians, or law enforcers. Those days are long over, it's nothing like the godfather where you have a guy kissing another guy on his finger, to express respect, or love. The italians adopted the American ideologi very quick, but they never gave up on their history, traditions, catholic beliefs, if that what you're asking about Edited November 17, 2020 by jimmynutts Link to comment

BadassBaboon
Italian Mobsters in the modern age are just like every other person, businessmen mostly. It's extremely hard to distinguish them unless if they have a profile or used to be connected. And personally I think the opposite, there are quite a lot of local gangs, MCs and posies than actual organized mobs, considering their activity of course. Link to comment

Trupiano
1 hour ago, aldo said: common sense, 4th 5th generation american born and bred in LA is not sicilian This is all semantics. @aldo Your correct that the sicilian mob refers to themselves as Cosa Nostra, the American mob was labeled la Cosa Nostra (LCN) by the FBI. They needed a label for the type of organized crime they were dealing with and it made sense to call them exactly what they were replicating from Sicily. It's the same with many of the big families and how they received their names. Nobody stood around in the 20's and went "I'm so and so Bonanno! This is the Bonanno crime family!". No, Joseph Bonanno was at the top of the family as they began to get investigated and so the FBI labeled them the Bonanno crime family even though 1. before Joe Bonanno there were multiple other bosses and 2. there hasn't been a Bonanno as boss since 1964. Pathway
I dont think there should be an artificial limit on the amount of mobs, but I think mob rpers should start getting more creative. Most rp i've seen on threads is usually selling drugs/weapons, money laundering, or extorting people. People should rp more creative ideas like prostitution/brothels, pornography, loan sharking, counterfeiting and private gambling. I've only seen prostitution and gambling done by street gangs, while mobs usually just do legal businesses, and drug/weapon dealing. The only mob ive seen do prostitution is k-town tbh. Hopefully im just not looking hard enough into these threads, but thats what the problem is to me instead of the amount of mobs, is the variety of things each of them do to stand out from eachother , apart from the obvious differences of ethnicity.
