Kari
Detailed Description: Prime time is currently near midnight. It'd be cool for 1-2 hours of prime to be during the day. Even just giving 2-3 more hours of daylight would offer both a daylife and a nightlife. It's terrible that most things happen during the night, right now, and doesn't feel super realistic. Relevant items/commands: /time How will it benefit the server: Daytime is generally felt to be more "safe". More people may go out and about, more businesses may be able to open, more activities done. Businesses like pizzerias don't really have a reason to be open at 2am, nor do churches, outdoor gyms, etc. This has been suggested many times and never truly denied to my knowledge, it just.. fell out of discussion, despite most being onboard. A push back of 2-3 hours would still give those who can't be on very late an hour or two of darkness, and those who can't be on very early an hour or two of light. 5 Link to comment
varthshenon
+1 I'd hope for more pushback, but any pushback is appreciated. Link to comment
Halcyon
Synced to UTC+0 is fine as is. Changing the time will never please everyone. 2 Link to comment

Certainly not everyone, and it is a very subjective change. This can be tested by a simple strawpoll to check the times most players would want. You'll never please anyone in such a large community, pleasing the most is the best we could do. The poll could obviously also have an option to change nothing. Link to comment
Jennie
Doing that will cause me not to play at night, I barely can, imagine with that. The perfect solution would be having 12H instead of 24, I mean, 1 day on gtaw would be 12 hours, but it's a very drastic move. Link to comment

Well the server's been that way for 5 years and the US playerbase has constantly complained about it always being 11pm-5am when we play. A little 2-3 hour pushback like this would be a good temporary experiment. For once it'd cater to the US players too. Everyone gets a little more daytime to rp with. Link to comment
Steeled
The problem with this is that it's hard to maintain a balance between the timezones which is why it's set to UTC. Pushing the time back 2-3 hours won't really fix the issue because it won't be convenient for users who are 2-3 hours ahead UTC. 1 Link to comment
Naru
Suggested a lot of times, never got through, but here's something: Change times every month. Gives you the ability to rp on different times every month. January is GMT February GMT+2 March GMT+4 etc... Link to comment

Again, it's why the suggestion is to have half of peak be day, half be night. It's achievable. I think the best way forward is really just a poll. We can't please everyone, but we should aim to please the majority. Link to comment

They're not going to change the time. The day isn't going to be shortened to twelve hours, the time zone isn't going to be switched the another time zone, they're not going to be moved an hour or three forwards, or backwards, or whatever. Every single change suggested sounds good to those who it benefits, but they conveniently ignore those who are negatively impacted. When you make a serious proposal, you should consider all the impacts. Link to comment
