  1. I do read them, and it was still a valid argument in my opinion. If you know your PC capability, you should try to not inconvenience other. It's just that simple. Imagine you RP as a police officer and whenever you chase someone, you keep smacking others. I'll just add this just so this conversation doesn't get longer than necessary. By lag-ramming, I mean the person who do the ramming doesn't even notice that they just rammed someone else, hence called the lag. Regardless they want to RP the crash or not, they don't know they just crashed into someone. This, as far as I know, is not a rule break. Happened to me once and we agreed to void with admin permission. This might be just me, but if I know I can cause problem to someone OOCly, I'd try to avoid it the best I can, by, for example, not blazing through the road if most stuff could barely load and instead use the racetrack.
  2. So they don't inconvenience other who's RPing, at least. And I'm talking specifically about the reply you quoted. They were talking about how they got lag-rammed and you countered them with "this happen IRL" XD
  3. If they blaze through the road and RP their crash, then fine. But they don't. Do people IRL don't RP their crash as well? That's the point.
  4. There was a program that let you change the entire vehicles .xml so you can, for example, halving every vehicle's acceleration in one go.
  5. +1 I'd hope for more pushback, but any pushback is appreciated.
  6. This is the current speed limit we have: "Any person, at all times, on any official state, county, or local roads of any scale - drivers must maintain a maximum speed of 100 MP/H on highways, 75 MP/H on county roads outside city limits, 60 MP/H on roads within city limits, and 45 MP/H on roads in areas designated as a "State Park" or "Hunting Zone", and 45 MP/H on roads in school and university zones. Drivers must use fair judgement when driving on roads with adjusted conditions (such as closed, unpaved, slick, and damaged roads)." City speed limit is 60, not 50. County is 75. And I agree that I can barely maintain or reach 60 if I want to drive "realistically" within the city. It's pretty high to be honest, but I don't know how it is in actual California. It's only around (probably) 25-50 where I live within the city, depends on the road. But I don't think lowering the speed limit actually prevent the 100ers since they disregard them in the first place.
  7. I see. However, my chara already got hit by LEO (IDK which one FD SD etc.) and the classic "you didn't load" message was seen. I also saw plenty of them crossing intersections without stopping, even no roll stop, even when seeing my chara stopping at the intersection. Some players also sounded their opinions about them as well here. They are not exempted from the problem. It's good that they have internal punishment, but they are still doing it.
  8. Well if we want point system for example, obviously it's only applied to civilians characters. So we need something to prevent LEO RPer doing the same thing as well. So I think there's still a good point, not the pointing.
  9. I see that you suggested a license revoke at first but then you backtracked and disagree on someone who have the same opinion lol. That's why I said that. But I agree with the point system.
  10. We have plenty of rules but people still PG, MG, etc. Are you saying we should just remove the rules and enjoy the RP the best we can? XD We should (or at least the server) still try to mitigate the problem the best we can.
  11. I don't think that's the case. It's just that majority of players don't want to drive realistically, and they don't post comments here in this specific topic at the moment.
  12. The server lack consistency in being "realistic". Some aspects get balanced which is fine and great, but other get neglected, like traffic RP.
  13. +1 it's just an unnecessary OOC gatekeeping because the test drive itself is an OOC activity. If the server really wants to put a gatekeep, at least put the lease cost as the minimal balance required.
  14. What I don't like about backstory is some players use it to determine what I can and can't RP, even though backstory is what happened before or so far, not what is going to happen in the future like a forecast lol. But I like writing backstory since it can guide me on how to RP my character's personality. And also fill the lores whenever they get brought up in RP. I write new sentence every time I find a hole in the lore just so I can be consistent. As for editing existing backstory, I don't remember ever doing it, but changing something that hasn't been spoken or known or have any impact ICly should be ok. You should have control over your own character XD
  15. There's no way they don't see the /cim, or to actually counter this, perhaps put the /cim directly in front of the door. And I see that someone suggested /createscene which would actually be better since it will always be visible in certain amount of time. Climb the vehicle and do /createscene maybe lol.
