  1. Yelp review for mappers? I think word of mouth and reputation should suffice. If the mapper you had did and keeps doing a bad job I am sure word will spread.
  2. You could do cryptocurrency without the value fluctuation, or if possible, fluctuation based solely on player interaction maybe. While we in our daily life only see Crypto for its crazy fluctuations and scam schemes, there is a darker side to Crypto where its been used to avoid government oversight to pay for illegal services. Now, I don't know how serious of a threat said government oversight is given when I RPd a criminal paranoid about the Government/bank looking at bank transfers, it was ICly laughed at, but.
  3. It still affects government employees and cops when they're driving their own personal vehicles, its not like being in a faction automatically exempts you.
  4. At the same time, I find it difficult to believe they are being lenient for the sake of a few Masks around an LTD.
  5. I can only assume the entire illegal scene use cheats in response to other cheats, in a sort of armsrace (especially if Rage/EAC are too slow to respond with detection, making it impossible to expose cheaters and play clean as your faction would be wiped out), and that banning all the people with cheats would wipe out the entirety, majority or a near half plurarity of the illegal playerbase. That may not be true, but it is the kind of athmosphere created by the admins' approach, so I can but assume that every criminal encountered is a cheater. Honestly, its a big disservice to the community to allow the picture that the rotten apples to spoil the bunch.
  6. Name: caramelz Comment: The Republicans continue with their fascistic crusade to ban their political opponents, truly we live in a society. Senator Brandenburg learned his political tactics from very old German playbooks it seems.
  7. As I understand it, weed is legal in so far you will not be punished for carrying <15 grams, but will be punished for having 15 or more grams of weed, eg it is still illegal to sell weed and no real legal way of acquiring weed or at least no way of getting weed through legal channels such as a prescription for medical marijuana. Maybe I'd be wrong but I think if weed was legalized, criminals could still try to undercut legal businesses' prices, branch out to create their own business fronts selling weed legally or just move on to selling harder drugs.
  8. Mallrat is any legal roleplayer we don't like. I'm facetous, but as someone who's pretty new to GTA RP in general, its been difficult to find any exact definition. To my knowledge it came from people who just earned script money (through entry level jobs) to get a sportscar and just post up at an <RP venue> like cafes and nightclubs, but no realistic means to pay for car and lifestyle. (Afaik, RL the term mallrat referenced groups of kids who spent most of their days in the mall.) This thread is also the first time I encountered 'para roleplay' as a term.
  9. Those emotes are good, and not at all what I reference as one word robots, but exactly what I mean when I write that any action can be given some detail or description to convey character, rather than simply stating the action with no sense of there being motivation or emotion on the side of the acting character.
  10. Not simply length itself, no, but you can do a lot with any simple action, adding details or description to give a sense of who the character is or their frame of mind in the situation. The way you write the emote can itself be used to give the feel for the character, for whether they are suave, elegant, crude, clumsy etc.
  11. Well, good will always be subjective, so let me put it in a more considerate way: those who appreciate your roleplay style will notice. Of course people who write long emotes can be just as prone to metagaming and powergaming as anyone else, but that is not where roleplay quality begin and end. I am myself not the biggest fan of purple prose and I might avoid roleplaying with those I feel engage in such, but at least their characters feel more like people than someone who barely writes anything at all.
  12. Its a lot more engaging to RP with someone who writes more. Even if it wasn't high quality more is good. I say this as someone who's spent time going through a lot of in depth IC work interviews, and nothing is worse than having to wrestle one word answers out of the maw of someone who's just there to play GTAW like its an MMO. Even if it wouldn't be 'high quality,' it would give so much more feel for your character and make them feel so much more like an actual person rather than a robot. But of course circumstance always matter. If I am at a public event with dozens of players within chat range, I'm not going to write novels. But I think if people thought a little more about using /ame and /low, even public events would be more bearable and have room for more detail. And if you are in line at a venue, I guess its considerate either way not to make the ten people in line behind you wait fifteen minutes for a banger line about you paying for a coffee. Not to mention if you're getting robbed, you'll probably be shot dead for failure to Fear RP for not firing off instant one line emotes. Better pray they don't report you and get you CKd at the same time. Still, I think good roleplayers will always appreciate good roleplay. Keep writing fire and others who appreciate it will notice and engage. That is my experience in GTAW.
  13. Killing 'snitches' might make sense if its a neighbor in gang territory, but a lot of the time people are dealing with total strangers. A complete stranger you robbed in Hawick or Richman should be expected to call the cops, they're not snitches. Also, a lot of people IRL call the cops instinctively, as a reaction, without thought that the person in question is a psychopat. But there is a fair reason, I think, to call the cops as an overt action - and that is to scare away the criminal. I would almost say its failure to Fear RP to stay around when a 911 call is made, even if its to punish the caller.
  14. I've seen both good and bad LCN portrayals, just like I see any good or bad RP. But I liked having a larger LCN presence around, it caused more blue-collar RP as well. It was fun to see Horizon work crews and the Docks being somewhat alive. More OCGs around at all would be good as they dabble much more in different kinds of "legal RP" in a way that's not disruptive.
  15. Yeah, I assume OP just meant a regular shooting, but in the school yard. Still, block wiping high school students in recess sounds fucking vile and is 100% going to happen, even though its banned. Rules are in place to shape our RP environment and the focus of Davis High is to give (M)s more avenues of character development. They can get shootings, mass brawls and drug operations any and every day of the week, anywhere they could want, but Davis High is not there for that, its not needed on school grounds.
