  1. {Giving this one more bump} - again niche but I'm down to hear peoples thoughts whether you map or not. 🙂
  2. +1 Could be a good incentive for places to open up more too. 🙂
  3. -1 on the grounds of the fact that I think it's one of those things of all or nothing. Alternatively while it might "promote toxic culture" it doesn't change the facts in a report...an applaud on a poster or thumbs up doesn't change that someone broke a rule or had poor portrayal.
  4. Basically this... And yes, there's different levels of stress, and backstory that can attribute to how the fear progresses. Some shut down in high stress situations, some even faint, some act tough, and put on a face, some fight back, some run away. If you have a gun pointed at you though? In what situation are you running? What's faster? The bullet or you? And some robberies are 1 on 1 sometimes it's 2 on 1. If you're out numbered even without a gun involved even...do you want to take the risk of 2 knives coming at you? Do you want to take the risk that there might be more around the corner? Realism can only be applied so far, in most situations a civilian, or even someone new to the streets, or unarmed wouldn't run at all, they'd take the L because like it or not the first instinct of any human is to survive. An Army Vet, biker may try to fight back maybe? But they might even say "F it..." and find a way to get their revenge or move forward because it's not worth it for them. Frakkennewguy hit it pretty solidly. Rules are pretty clear about this. Reports are an option if you feel an RP didn't go the way you wanted. CK's can be appealed but if they stand the way they are, take it as a lessoned learned and move along. Overall: -1
  5. -1 As mentioned it seems unfair to those who may not want to join a faction for one reason or another. Factionless people aren't *bad* role-players. Some people don't join factions for a reason. Be it they don't want to deal with potential toxic factions/faction members, or because their activity may not be high enough to join one and maintain, or because they want to avoid the politics of factionship. I think how it is right now, it isn't the best, it could be better. But restricting it down to a factions only command doesn't leave too much room for factionless people. Drugs and guns are generally faction based RP. If you can't rob someone, then it leave maybe only boosting cars and even then you need a partner at least. Sadly the only way you weed out the bad robbers is through reporting. Overall, (as mentioned) it's not a fun experience you're caught in a "got'cha" moment and it sucks, but it's also "your fault", maybe you won't keep 10k in your pocket and your fancy jewelry on next time you stop at the gas station or 24/7.
  6. +1 * * Mappers shouldn't expect WP - if someone WANTS to tip WP they can otherwise IG cash should be more than enough. I love to map, and so IG cash help a lot w/ my character Dev. If tipped with WP over time sure I could keep my dono status and pocket my IRL money. The only worry I have with this is that people may begin having "packages" as someone who maps and say "if you give me x amount of WP I'll push you up the queue" There is a worry that it could promote a semi-toxic P2W type culture. So it's a slippery slope. If you restrict it to official mappers maybe? Not just anyone who maps perhaps?
  7. {Giving a Bump} - Though niche I think it'd be a great addition and give for some creative looking builds over time!
  8. +1 - A lot of RP forums have this, stands to reason we should as well. 🙂
  9. +1 IF there's a way to toggle them but even then the only concern could be trolly signatures but I'd like to think Admins would be on top of that. Potentially give a grace period for newly made accounts so that they can't immediately use a signature? 🙂
  10. This is definitely a "Mappers Delight" post, and it definitely is very niche. It effects a SMALL group on the server but I believe it would allow for way more creative and interesting builds as a whole! The Idea The ability to resize objects (with reasonable limitations and excluding certain objects still!) when mapping. This would include floors (could include walls as well but this is a maybe) counters, tables, everyday objects (like chairs, washer/dryers, lights, etc.), pillars, shelves, etc. It can be done by a percentage base both in a negative and positive sense. This would not change the width of the item - unless devs think that'd be manageable I think that'd be awesome - but I think the width of most objects is fine aside from a select few. There are Mods that allow for the NPC's and even the player to be resized. To my understanding (and my understanding is not very deep on this topic I will admit) a moving object is harder to resize or can cause frame rate issues. I assume static non-moving objects would be easier. In saying this, the objects would only be resizable by a percentage. So the starting size would be 100. It could go down by 10% if you want so from 100% -> 90% -> 80%, etc. perhaps down to 50% or 40% min. And 150% max. The Pros Objects that of obnoxious size (be them too small or too big) can be used in a more normal setting, and makes them more viable. Objects can be used more creatively and allow for smaller details that can tell a lot or make a room come together (little details do matter!) A good opportunity to get rid of dupes if you have to go through and tag stuff, but also - not needing to mod in smaller sizes of the same object. The Cons **Note:** These Cons are assuming this would/could be implemented, and my solutions may not be viable at all. People may attempt to hide things that shouldn't be in the property, like guns or safes. My solution to this is that if we have a category for these {which if my memory serves me we do for guns/weapons at least} we shut an entire group of items off from being resize. "If object is in x category it is not resizable" Now if you have several objects you don't want to be resizable, you may be able to create a tag on objects that deem it not resizable, this would leave it in the category it's in but not resizable due to the tag. "If x object has the tag of NR, cannot resize" Example: Let's say you don't want a certain window to be resizable, but you still want other windows to be. Simply mark the one you do not want to be resizable with that special tag. If someone tries to resize that window it will give them a chat message saying 'This object is not resizable'. Potential Engine limitations, thus causing frame rate issues. This is definitely possible, especially when we go to upscaling as now the game has to load a larger object than it knows it as. The fix to this would be perhaps to not allow upscaling at all and only downscaling. Example: Upscaling lights could cause frame rate issue, so rather than allowing upscaling you only allow downscaling of lights/light fixtures. People abusing the scaling to overload a property potentially creating a place where the moment you walk in your crash. (Basically a Crash Machine) My solution to this is definitely controversial, but the only fix I can think of while still having this potentially limited is to not let normal players (meaning anyone that's not on the mapping team) map or - put a grace period on when a normal player can map. Alternatively if you don't add that limitation, if someone DOES do this and it would probably get mass reported, revoke the property from that person with no warning, potentially even take the ability to map in any property away. It should be a harsh swift punishment basically. The Commands Just use 'R' as we do now to switch from moving to Rotating and make a new size. So now it would be Moving, Rotation, Size and would cycle through these. There doesn't have to be a special command in my opinion. However, if you wanted to do that perhaps using the brackets [ ] for resizing. [ = downscale and ] = upscale. Again, you would limit the % of which an object can be resize. As far as I know - the brackets aren't used with any interface, if they are w/mapping perhaps when in scaling mode their purpose is different. The Benefits I'll be the first to admit this definitely could only matter to Mappers. It could matter to the normal player if they want a certain look or object but because the object is too big or small it's not workable. That being said, it could definitely spark some really creative builds, ideas and potentially give people a reason to try mapping out (this is a stretch but a person can dream). The benefits are not a huge big. I recognize this is for a extremely small group of people in comparison to the whole of the server though, I wanted to shoot my shot regardless. As someone who enjoys Mapping and sees the potential of certain objects that I can't viably use in builds because of their size, I thought perhaps this could be put on the table. I definitely wanna discuss the possibilities of this - I feel like the implementation would take time. I won't deny my knowledge on the subject. It's limited. I can understand it may be harder to do. Potentially impossible! I've seen GTAV mods (even though they're singleplayer based), that allow more dynamic objects to be scaled up or down. I can't see why we could do the same for static objects. Either way thanks for your time in reading this.
  11. Username: Lucy_Luci Comment: Heya! Owner here, thanks so much for your review! I'm always looking for ways to improve and do better. I definitely agree as far as staffing goes, been working on getting a consistent staff. It's not as easy as you think out here but I'll continue to keep working towards it. Regardless of the hiccups, I'm glad you enjoyed your time at my Bar more importantly the food! Hoping the next time you roll through you'll find it to be a lot smoother! Thanks again babes! ~~ Lucy
  12. There wasn't script pay if my memory serves me it was 2k an hr because they said "It makes sense for the cost of living" but again there's 1m+ houses going for sale, so it's not realistic. People who aren't RPing out there own homes because they can. It doesn't make sense. Makes sense though just how it is rn and I do hope it fixes itself. I know that you guys have a lot on your plate as far as RM goes it's a hard thing to fix. During the holiday I know it's harder because of the hold - that being said, I still look and ask about activity before the hold out of curiosity. I just wanted to open up the discussion and try to understand the issue and possibly find a solution of some kind. 🙂
  13. I under stand the snap judgement here but I disagree with this to an extent. I get that leasing would be fair - if it was more of a rent to own. I think some people who are active there now deserve to OWN a home. Period. After x amount of months of inactivity they lose it. Period. You can put in an inactivity request for 30 days after that too bad. I feel that people have inactivity holds and then go away for 3 months and it's "oh well" makes no sense. I say let people who really do live out there own something. Working in the city while living in the country is okay if you are able to actively RP out there too it's sadly more than just a problem of city people living in the country it's that there's no work to keep people IN the country so they can RP there too. My character WANTS a business out there but she doesn't live out there I don't think it would make sense for her to have a business before a home. So home first then business that makes sense, she works in the city to build up cash then buys a business and lives out there fully it's a transition makes sense. I see your POV tho 100% I just don't agree to it fully.
  14. I was not sure if this is where I should put this if it's the wrong place PLEASE tell me where to put it. Thanks! The Paleto Bay housing market is a little out there. Paleto Bay has a lot of potential but there's three things that I feel plague the Bay that will be the base point of my argument: 1) Inactive players - Players once inhabited Paleto Bay and no longer do so make it hard for people who may want to move out that way or start a life there harder. 2) City moguls - It's one thing to buy a vacation home - it's another to buy a house then try and flip it for insane prices...to country folk...who don't make that kind of money. Beach homes be damned locals can't afford those houses at the prices in which you are selling/renting and you know it. 3) Pay Wages - I understand it's "the countryside" but if you're gonna charge city prices for housing and rent, you need to pay like the city. Otherwise, why work or live out there? I'll go into detail with each point if you're lazy feel free to read the TL:DR at the bottom. ❤️ Inactive Players I know Admins, PM, and the like do their best to comb out the properties of inactive players, I think part of the problem is that you have to log in for x amount of hours to keep it and so people will do so but they are not active. Activity should be much more than hours but I know that would be daunting to track forms of activity like money spent and things of that nature. So if it HAS to be hours it should be MORE on a weekly basis or monthly basis at least. I am aware people have lives and don't live in RP land, but it's not fair to those that ARE putting in the work, the hours and the grind and don't just want a house to have it and flip later. Again, real life happens and you shouldn't lose your house over that but if it's been 6 months for example since you've been on it's not fair to keep holding that house - come back earn it back or see if you can buy it back, but it's not fair to leave properties stagnant either, not when there's people who want to actively RP in these communities and build it up. City Moguls You know the types, fancy cars, nice big house on the hill and a country home in the country...that they never go to or use. These are the same people that will try and sell their vacation home for 1.8m on the market and think any of the Paleto Bay residents {who should be inhabiting those houses more than the city folks}, can afford that price. Now, my character that I'm main-ing does live in the city. She does want to live in the country however and rent out her current home in the city to someone at a fair price. Her reasoning for moving to Paleto Bay is that she's engaged to a resident, pregnant and wanting to raise her family in a more quiet place. Her living out there and working in the city makes more sense than the reverse. That is how it should be. Country folk either live and work in the country {because the wages make sense}, or they work in the city and live in the country {so they can save money and maybe buy a business in the country to work at as well, which also makes sense}. I feel as a City Mogul if you insist on having a vacation home you should treat it like an Air BnB. Create a Seasonal lease at a FAIR price for Paleto residents and make a passive income. If you're not paying a mortgage, you've bought a house and make no passive profit. At least this way? You make passive profit and people get to RP in a country community like they want to. However, as a city person you shouldn't try and overtake property just to have a flip for crazy prices this shouldn't be allowed - that's what I see happening makes no sense. Pay Wages I am not 1,000% sure on how pay wages are out in Paleto the only job my character had was a 2k an hour job + tips but it's not nearly as active out there because again wages vs the rent/housing market is atrocious. Pay Wages attract a community period. There should be liveliness in ALL part of San Andreas from Vespucci Canals to Sandy Shores, there's potential everywhere, as long as the pay makes sense. People will drive from Massachusetts or Connecticut IRL to work in New York and drive 1-2 hrs to and from for good money. People can work the Port, work city jobs then come home to their quiet country people do that IRL...they work city jobs and they come home to the quiet of the country. However, if you WANT more activity pay a little more make it worth while to live and be out there. My Point of View/Opinion As someone who is RPinga city bartender working her behind off, I should be able to afford a house in Paleto to start my new life...I can still work in the city and live in Paleto so that I eventually can have my own business and plant permanent roots. You can't create a successful business imo till you make yourself known in the neighborhood...that makes sense. THAT is realistic RP and story progression. Is this post a little self-serving totally 1000000% if I am to be transparent, however, someone tried to tell me: "Everyone out here lives in apartments, you can't get a house till you retire." ...in the "country" ? That makes absolutely zero sense. If you ask me...country living is houses, homes, and a sense of community in small tows. Very few people live in apartments in the country. If the majority of your population lives in apartments you're more like a city like Los Santos. You can't claim country living and then turn around and say people mostly live in apartments. That's fine for the first "6 months to 2 years" of living out there, but eventually? You should be able to afford a nice house or a fair mortgage that leads to you owning the house {basically rent to own}. I think if you OWN a business in Paleto, and work hard and have activity you could afford a house out there OR if you manage a business in the city you could LIVE in the country and work in the city. There's no reason why these houses should only be "if you retire". If you are properly active, and grinding money the right way or you know the illegal way no judgement, then you should be able to have a house. Makes no sense to me that the country side has houses going for millions. Beach houses be damned...it shouldn't be going past 1m even. Sorry. Maybe I'm wrong but I wanted to open the discussion and get peoples opinions and maybe suggestions! TL:DR Paleto Bay has a lot of potential but no one would be DRAWN out there to RP normally with the current inactivity, pay wages, and overall housing/business opening. Yes people can report and fight these inactivities but pricing still seems outrageous and unfair to what is supposed to be "the country". Paleto is a good balance between the country and city RP. It's a small town basically and has a lot of potential for community AND crime alike honestly. However, there's not enough openings to allow people to set roots and make a community and enjoy this kind of RP. Though this post definitely has a self-serving element, I've talked to people who ACTIVELY RP in Paleto and they don't disagree from what I can gather. Please feel free to discuss my concern/suggestion. I am still fairly new to how the economy and housing market works in this server but if we're talking about accurate portrayals and building communities I believe it's a universal concept, one that could be easily applied here and fixed just takes a little work. I'm sure Sandy Shores and even Los Santos suffer from the same problem.
  15. Well, I don't think it would be a monthly fee for cooking in your home per say. I think if you wanted to sell plates you should have a small self-employment fee. Like you would IRL. People who are self-employed do pay taxes! And I think that should apply if you do that. It's a special tag so to speak! Otherwise you can just cook from your home and trade inside your house the plates. They would be untradeable outside of the house instance.
  16. Username: Lucy_R Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Comment: If I could give 6 stars I would. Sofia is probably one of the best if not the best hairstylist and nail tech. Wouldn't trust anyone else with my overall beauty needs. Great Salon!
  17. Username: Lucy_R Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Comment: If I could give 6 stars I would. Ella has great customer service and has dealt with my giant orders. I've easily ordered 40 candles from her and she handles them no problem each time. I'll always be by to buy at least a candle or two...or 10...love you Ella. ❤️
  18. I haven't had much time to reply to this thread since I made it, but I wanna put an addendum: While I think a simple BASIC hunger system would be a nice idea still, maybe not one that punishes for people who don't utilizes but rewards people who do. That being said - I could scratch the whole hunger system and still be happy with cooking at home. @Inked's idea is the PERFECT compromise and very fair! No punishment for not using the hunger system but a benefit if you do. Would balance it out. You would still have to RP it, it would have to be made on a home lot or you'd have to equip the portable stove top if you did it in a motel or place that's not a home {owned or rented} spot then you'd need it. -------------------------------------------------- @ScarletRose& @Jam888While I like the idea of making the animals more meaningful I see 2 issues personally: 1) Would have put more animal mobs out than we have now - this could potentially lag the server I think. 2) How would the carcass be carried and ID'd once killed? I love the idea however of there being a Butchery profession that can break down those carcasses and sell them to restaurants like components. 🙂 ------------------------------ Over all thank you for the support! Hope I continue to get more support for this - cooking at home just makes sense. Again those worried about it being abused it could be limited for only home lots, make it so it can't be traded outside of said home lot. Even if we don't get a hunger system I can live with that but over all I think cooking at home should be a think 100000000000000000000%. Whether you agree, disagree, or made a suggestion or comment thanks again! 😄
  19. Very fair compromise as far as a eating system goes! Glad though that food mechanics aside - having a /makefood for home situations would great!
  20. So I think rather than do /createitem I'd do /makefood a new command to differentiate from the /createitem systems and on top of that potentially add a /modifyfood system as I mentioned to have better quality food. I think a hunger system wouldn't be so bad, and a small debuff wouldn't hurt either, maybe instead of health loss you walk/run slower. There is some realism to both debuffs I mentioned, and I still really appreciate the opinion. I'm perfectly fine foregoing an entire hunger system if it meant we could cook at home. 🙂 But I think if you're gonna do that why not add a system like that & businesses on top of that.
  21. Definitely agree! It was me just suggesting a form of balance! Overall, I'm more about the cooking at home part RATHER than a hunger system. But it would be cool to have a hunger system of SOME kind. With minor benefits or debuffs. But it's not top priority. 🙂 Thank you for the support none the less! ❤️
