  1. Same goes for custom vehicle seat indicators.
  2. Isn't this only for vehicle smart TPs? Or for all of them?
  3. If you would have read the contents on that Discord, you'd know it's already being worked on! Not specifically this mod, but additional housing in the county through custom mapping.
  4. This is already being worked on. Please refer to the Community Focus - County Roleplay official Discord server.
  5. I think you should keep looking further. There are plenty of spots in the city that are pretty decent. They may not be visible for you, because during some hours of the day, there just isn't much activity. However, they're definitely in existence. In my view, due to the very strict regulations set by faction management, 'neighborhoods' are held back too much in how they're allowed to develop. IFM flatly rejects community groups that don't wish to develop into a gang. This makes it difficult to fully develop and display roleplay that isn't legal, but isn't primarily illegal either. You're just being relegated to a character story or a gallery thread. Its unfortunate.
  6. This makes sense, but he still has a point in that it is difficult to see which character is saying something or doing any sort of emote when you can't actually visually see who does what.
  7. This was pointing out how it goes both way. The argument was made that if there was a problem, players could just report. However, when it concerns metagaming, suddenly that's no longer viable. That's not really sensible now, is it? That's what I was pointing out. If you really wish to we can redo this entire discussion all over again though, but honestly it doesn't get us any closer to a solution that benefits everyone except people who enjoying breaking the rules.
  8. This is the real problem. I feel like trying to put restrictions on side effects of this problem only brings in problems down the line. It adds another rule to the list that's already so long.
  9. It wont, because player aren't willing to sacrifice the convenience. Regardless, I dont see a problem with this suggestion, so why not.
  10. Alright cool, so then I think we're at least on the same page. Even without going towards a solution, I think this can help progress this discussion a lot. I have a suspicion that this debate always gets so intense because there's two groups get pitted against each other unfairly: On one hand, you have players who focus on criminal roleplayers who actually use masks properly and in appropriate situations, without breaking any obvious rules. For example, when they're about to commit a crime and ICly wish to remain anonymous, or when trying to portray relevant popular culture regarding masks. I have no issue with any of these players. If you feel like you belong to this group, then I am convinced we share a common 'enemy'. On the other hand, you have players who are subjected to trollish behavior from roleplayers who decide to wear masks in order to try and OOCly avoid identificiation and responsibility. They could just be trolling or they could be displaying low quality criminal roleplay. This was particularly common during the BF400 days. I wouldn't go as far as to label this second group of players as 'civilians' or 'legal roleplayers', because everyone who is subject to bad roleplay from trolls wearing masks to hide their nametag belong in this group. In my view, we should try and figure out a solution that benefits both of these groups, at the expense of the third group. The players who happen to use masks whilst engaging in, among other things; poor portrayal unreasonable escalation deathmatching metagaming basically any rule breaking So, what can we do to help both groups but avoid making it easier to metagame? We could remove all nametags, perhaps? What do propose, beyond the usual 'just report them'? After all, if that was the solution, we wouldn't be here talking about it now.
  11. Great that you're trying not to be disrespectful and that you're actually trying to advance the discussion. That's appreciated. However, I think you have to admit that it comes across as disingenuous when you're constantly bringing up "its realistic, this is what happens in California, Im tired of Europeans trying to tell us what to do!" when in reality you (perhaps not you personally) are using it to hide your nametag. Now I appreciate that you're being honest about it now, but this could have saved us all 30 pages of nonsense. Can we leave this in the past now? This is not about anything IC, not about portrayal, not about what's popular in California, not about what Europeans don't understand about whatever culture. That's all a smokescreen being used by some people here to just attack those who are trying to highlight an issue. Plenty of players here get caught up in that spiel, and it just poisons the entire discussion. So let's leave that behind us. The issue is OOC, pure and simple. You're concerned about P2W toxic attitudes and MG from players whom would want to OOCly retaliate, and use metagamed information to attack your character later on, when they couldn't have recognized your character realistically, right? Is that a serious problem? Yes, I think it is. I'm not trying to belittle your concerns, because I read the forum reports, I've handled some myself and I'm sure we can get some nobody to make a snarky comment about that, but what I am trying to get across is that this isn't something that is not recognized at all. We know metagaming is an issue, this is why there's a rule for it, this is why the punishments for metagaming are usually pretty severe. Now, in this spirit, can you also recognize that there is a problem with the attitude of some players that change their behavior when they mask up? They aren't masking up because they want to properly portray Covid or the cultural changes that occurred since Covid was a thing. Someone suggested this in a reply earlier, and I think it is fair to say that this is a poor excuse. No one actually roleplays this way, nevermind the fact that Covid isn't even a thing in the server lore. They aren't masking up for fashion purposes, they're masking up to hide their name tag so they can act like idiots and trolls. Let me reiterate this for you. Some players do this. Not everyone who masks up does this. The majority probably don't. However, of the players that troll and act like idiots, the majority of them choose to mask up because it creates a barrier for other players in identifying who is doing the trolling. Yes, you can ask an admin, or report, but a lot of the times the experience is already ruined by these players. I'd like you to acknowledge that this is a serious issue, regardless of any solutions that are being discussed. Can you do that? The solutions can be set aside for a moment, because we should be on the same page first.
  12. No, it's not. As the first post suggests, the new player checks can be reduced. They shouldn't be removed. I agree that this is possible for abuse, but on the other hand this is also already possible in the current system. I wouldn't limit this to one character per account because that's too limiting for players that have more than one active character.
  13. Of course, but the problem is that the behavior of some players does change when their nametags are hidden. You're missing the point despite having this explained to you before. Is this just on purpose?
  14. Good point. I'll add a part where the property can only be returned to the server in exchange for the voucher. I guess that makes more sense?
  15. But you can slow down the fucking of it!
  16. Summary Grant every created character a property voucher Reduce new player checks Detailed Description Each newly created character receives a property voucher which they can spend on a property purchased from the server. Depending on the preferred implementation; The voucher has a value of X (for example: $125.000) that can be used on a residential property regardless of its cost, or The voucher an only be used on properties that cost X (for example: $125.000) or less, or The voucher can only be used on a specific selection of apartment buildings In return, the new player checks are reduced by a certain amount, for example, down from $200.000 to $150.000. Additionally, just like normal mechanics, the residential properties purchased using this vouches are taken away from players when they cannot meet activity standards. However, when the property is removed, the voucher is returned to the character. The player can only sell this property back to the server in exchange for the voucher, or with additional funds depending if it was purchased with additional funds. There could be a minimum playtime on a character to use this voucher if it is deemed necessary, but I wouldn't put that above like 4 or 8 hours myself. That should be more than enough. Relevant Commands/Items Adjustments to the menus and commands that allow players to buy properties from the server. Voucher system itself, of course. How will it benefit the server? "Immediately" allow players to get a property and start roleplaying with it. In turn, reduce the amount of money being introduced into the economy through new player checks.
  17. You should read the reply again. It's not a problem. Get past this already.
  18. I thought your concern was about the accurate portrayals. Why is this forgotten all of a sudden? If you suspect someone of metagaming, here's something cool for people who break rules: No new IC laws and OOC rules necessary.
  19. This was discussed at length in a previous thread a few months (or years) back. The consensus was that this may deter people from going to medical facilities to roleplay, which is something that would be bad for them, because it was difficult to find players to roleplay patients to begin with.
  20. If there's metagaming, players can report. Right? Besides, I thought your concern was with the accurate portrayal that non-Americans don't seem to understand? With this, you can still do that without any annoying IC laws or OOC rules.
  21. I completely agree with you. We don't need rules against the use of masks. We can just rid of the nametag hiding system. Then when an issue occurs, players can refer to the thread you just linked.
  22. And you couldn't be more wrong either. Nobody cares what someone decides to wear. Does it look weird sometimes? Yeah, especially when the mask usage is so prevalent outside of its usual context. But that's not the problem at all. Its the combination with some players acting like complete idiots because masks are combined with hiding the name tag. It's an OOC problem, not related to what cultural trends are prevalent and where.
  23. Its much better to talk about the actual issue at hand instead of getting all emotional over a few forum posts for a game. Again, as you could have read before, no one has a problem with the actual masks. Therefor, you can completely skip the whole "non Americans" issue. Its not relevant, get over it. Its the dumb actions by some players who use the hidden name tag as an excuse to act like idiots, ruining it for players who use it properly.
