  6. Congratulations to all of my fellow staff members. ❤️ The server is doing amazing things. I'm grateful to be a part of this team!
  7. Have you tried poking around the mapping section of the forum and DMing a few of the mappers that have a style that interests you? You might have some luck that way!
  8. Instead of making this an OOC thing, It should stay IC. If you've been reckless and gotten speeding tickets, ect, it's an IC issue. If you have them on your record, go to the courts and have it removed from your record after X amount of time. I think there's a misunderstanding in terms happening here. There's a difference between "Citations (tickets)" expiring and "records (points on your license)" expiring. IRL, the only way for points on your driving record to improve is through a length of time with no infractions, or through court-approved driving courses/mediation. Perhaps angling for more of an IC direction like these would be better. A good solution should require RP in my opinion. Go through the court. Take a remedial driving course. Have the LS Government amend the law and put things down on an official platform IC.. OOCly giving it a time frame only encourages loopholes and work-arounds.
  9. What I mean is- When someone calls 911 IG right now, it's a pre-generated script. Same questions every time. You're not getting a person. The IG scripts are then blasted out to the relevant emergency response factions. Is TXT911 implied to work the same way? Texting the answers to the same pre-generated questions? Overall I'm a huge supporter, however, I'm also of the same mind that we should have have a communications center. Legitimate dispatchers. Someone that could actually answer the phones and provide dialog/back and forth with the caller. PD/SD/FD would get a lot more information if the 'dispatcher' was able to ask more questions and relay details to the relevant departments. If there isnt one on duty, then script calls, obviously, but this is could be one of those code-things where "If X is present, then Y, If not, Z"
  10. -1. People would just not pay them and wait for the citation to fall off. Cant support a gateway for people to blatantly ignore RP & IC consequence.
  11. In order for text 911 to work we'd need someone on the other end to respond to texts. Dispatcher Job when. +10
  12. While IFM may be a large subteam, the admin team as a whole works as a united entity. Everyone takes reports, IFM, LFM, PM, & RPQM... Its not saving one over the other. At least if you were to put an OCG concept like Extortion in to some form of checks and balances, you could significantly raise the overall potential for reducing one facet of commonly made reports.. Everyone's entitled to an opinion. I stand by the fact that hiding behind 'effort' and 'paperwork' (IE: writing something down to justify the means/purpose/execution of extorting a legal business) is a lazy way of justifying overall poor RP. The extortion concept as a whole has been poorly done thus far and could use some regulation. Again, it's not as cut and dry as petty crime and street muggings. It's deeper than that. No different than something like arson or bombs. (which also require admin intervention) > Submit 250 words or less (same as a forum report) as to why you should be allowed / why it make sense for your organization > Admin reads submission. Approves or denies. > Admin spends less time reading/deciding on the request than they would handling a subsequent forum report. > Those that are NOT approved therefore DONT extort the businesses which would then likely result in lengthy report that drag on for days with X amount of logs necessary, research into both sides, witnesses, counter arguments, back and forth, IE: headaches.
  13. They cant get banned if they dont get reported- Which then forces the 'victim' to write an 'essay' as you put it. All of which could be completely avoided, saving everybody's time (Victim, extorter, and handling admin collectively) if the criminal party gets green-lit prior to extorting them in the first place. Extortion is just as much a business as it is a crime. People have to apply for businesses on the server. They have to write up some sort of 'dialog' or explanation ((essay)) as to why they should be allowed to operate a legal business in the community. It's only fair that the criminal underbelly is held to the same standard.. It doesnt even have to be that extensive. Im not saying write a term paper.. I'd even argue not to have it be much longer that you would for a forum report, because honestly that's the alternative in this case. But that said, yeah I think you should have to submit for it and get approval. You want to enforce criminally taxing a legal business? Okay. Perfectly fine. Apply for it. Put in the effort. This isnt a petty crime. This is organized crime. Organized crime comes the expectation of higher standards. IMO rise to the occasion or go back to street muggings for quick cash. We need to raise the bar for criminal RP, it's why we get such a bad reputation. And I say this AS AN ILLEGAL RPer... Just my two cents.
  14. THIS. Good idea. Requiring a scheme/application would enforce necessary effort and energy from anyone trying to extort a business. It'll deter laziness and make the resulting RP something that should be worth while for all parties involved. This is a limitation we could encourage.
  15. >>> We live in a city that has more crime than would ever realistically happen IRL. A daily population of 700-900 ((Not counting NPC entities that would make up a reasonable populous for the city)) all in 47.8 square miles for Los Santos... Verses the population of LA at 3.849 MILLION in 502 square miles.. I don't believe the server-crime levels can even equate to the daily crime of some of the worst parts of LA considering LA averages 5K+ reported crimes a day through their emergency centers and that doesn't include the unreported crimes. I don't think the server is at that level. Higher concentration, sure.. but not /more/ crime overall. >>> People are here to RP and and have fun, if they want to do it as a pilot, there shouldn't be OOC blockades hindering them. Not everyone should be allowed to fly a plane. Simple as that... Not to mention letting them fly overtop a city full of people.. Or even with people onboard... just because they have the script money or the wild inkling to do so. Not every character should have the ability to obtain a pilots license. RPQM aside, If it doesn't fit their portrayal, then "for the fun of RP" should be irrelevant. Why are we even putting that on the staff team to regulate (via RPQM) when we as a community have a system in place (Blaine Aviation) that almost entirely prevents abuse from a character that isn't fit for the scenario? Make an alt that's more tailored towards aviation RP if you want to fly a plane. Bangers, criminals, gas station attendants, career grinders and money farmers have absolutely no grounds trying to fly a plane. RP should make sense. If it's going to be just for fun, go play fight simulator. Let's be honest here... If it matters that much to someone then we'd be seeing more people that want to open their own Aviation schools and they'd invite whoever wanted to fly to apply, attend, and get their license.. And they'd make bank doing it too. There's nothing stopping anyone from opening an opposing Aviation school and running things how /they/ want. But if and when this happens, I can almost promise you there will be a mass influx of RPQM cases and forum reports as a result. In the meantime.. If a player is passionate enough about AVAIATION RP, enough to enroll in the courses through Blaine, then they need to commit to the established process. They can get active in their discord, tag the relevant people, and put in the genuine effort to take the 4 classes IG. It is not that much... Specially when you take into consideration that for an Aviation Academy in the state of California, it requires: A Class 1 Medical clearance through an appointed Aviation medical examiner (which is an entire process in itself). Ground School (the physical classroom work) which takes about 4 weeks on average to complete. It It also requires 40 hours of actual flight time 20 of which need to be supervised 3 hours of which need to be 'cross country' 3 hours of which need to be night flying 1 flight needs to be over 100 miles long without landing Must include 10 full successful take offs and landings and 3 hours must be completed on instruments (meaning not on auto-pilot) 10 hours also need to be solo Of these these, 5 must be cross country flight a single flight needs to be longer than 150 miles and have 3 stops at different airports and must have 3 successful take offs and landings at a busy airport WITH air traffic control Then there's the oral final exam (class test) Then the practical exam (flying) which is overseen by a Designated Pilot Examiner And the whole thing costs anywhere from 67,000 - 97,000 US American dollars If we take into consideration the inflation between the US dollar and the Los Santos dollar? Flight school (even with Blain Aviation) would or should cost a hell of a lot more than 100K IG.. Considering it costs almost as much IRL.
