  1. I play as an Assassination Rogue with a few of my friends. We tend to move in a squad of 5-6 and just roll people the F up.
  2. I've been role-playing for many years now and what keeps drawing me back are the relationships one establishes with people. I'm not taking about romanticism, but friendships, conflicts, and the networking one makes with players. I would be lying if I said there is 'No emotional investment to these interactions.' The reality is that, as a story teller, one invests their time, and energy into creating these hopefully unique stories. Another attribute that really draws me to Roleplay is the balance between action and consequences. At this time, my character is doing questionable things, but until a consequence stops him, he will continue. To me, this is an environment that is supposedly simulating 'real life', and I can do whatever I want without risking my own personal health and wellbeing. Tldr: I find joy in being a chaotic neutral characters, doing highly questionable things, and making friends. Shout outs to Baba Black, Raekwon and V for making some seriously hilarious stories.
  3. Ride the Spiral to the end, and we may just go where no one's been.
  4. It's been five years, so I think the statue of limitation takes place. Now, some of you may not think of this as a bad thing but, personally, I've been counting down the days until I am finally absolved if my crimes. I crossed the street without looking both ways.

    Squad

I absolutely adore Squad. I haven't played the full release yet but I played a few weeks ago. I think my favorite things about the game has got to be the interactions between your squad mates. I have a tendency of pretending I'm a Jarhead - looking to 'Git Sum!' or a Canadian, politely driving, being respective and 'Not sure what you tookin aboot, friend'.
  6. This is critical, and comes back to what I discussed earlier today about opportunity. Whenever I personally see an advertisement, I think of it as another opportunity to both develop my character further. Treating the character like a dynamic entity that has hunger pains, emotions, and desires can go a long way. I don't think there is a true solution to the 'randomness' of a roleplay other than capturing the interest of people. As I continually iterate - Be that random stranger to engage in conversation. Everyone is actively waiting for that roleplay, some are just more timid. Just know, reactions may vary and there is a possibility that you may not get the outcome you wanted. But it sure will make for more memorable events.
  7. Oh, I see what you are talking about now. I think it is a matter of opportunity to engage in a roleplay session. There are times I've seen guys hanging out on the corners around the Jefferson section of Los Santos. I'm more than positive that folks would engage in an RP session if the chance presented itself. However, some times, the only real way to get into an RP is to be the spark of it.
  8. Your mileage may vary, so I'm hoping that I can give some solace. I've been role-playing for a long time and I can truthfully say that this environment has given me the opportunity to really break out into more random and strange encounters. What works for me is just throwing myself into a situation and seeing what happens. 'Would my character walk up to a group of thugs? No, but he may walk by kicking a can along the road and it accidentally moves towards their direction.' Roleplay is a two way street, and as a veteran, I'll gladly be the one to initiate contact (then again, I'm an extrovert). Tldr : We are all here to Roleplay. Do not be afraid to embarrass yourself - hell, my character goes to bars and ask for a glass of milk for giggles. He pays for the milk, but it gets an interesting conversation going. I hope this helps, and please feel free to reach out!
  9. I was apart of Half-life 2 Roleplay for many years under an alias I am ashamed of. I won't disclose the name but if you came from TnB, feel free to PM me and I'll say exactly who I am. _______Low Level information____ Unfortunately, said community was highly toxic, plagued with script kiddies that were leveraging LUA injections, or DDoSing our servers, and compromised Admins whom play favoritism. However, I will admit, a lot of great memories have been fostered there. I've gone as far as meet ten of these individuals during a convention one year. When we found this community, it spread immediately and now five out of the ten are currently playing here or actively applying to join. Either way - estastic to be here and absolutely cannot wait to see what this community brings! Hilarious story - When I was a recruit for the Combine Civil Authority, an equivelent of 'Big Brother' law enforcement, we were specifically barred from using a particular weapon to 'pacify' suspects whom 'minge' ran away. As an IC response, I would Roleplay throwing my Stun Baton at them and immediately using said weapon if my roll was successful. The barred weapon was a riot shotgun and whenever you knocked someone out with it, the body just rag-dolls into eventual rigor mortus.
