Genuinely interested as to what they should be called? Kind of odd considering they use Swastikas, 14/88, post hate-speech toward Jews, blacks and other minorities, et cetera.

I don't mean any offense here. Trying to understand it better OOC. If this would be better done through discord/forum pm lemme know.

The racism etc is all a front for a criminal organization. Alot of white supremacist gang members aren't even genuinely racists and are more interested in profit. The racist hate speech is used as a way to connect members together and make them think they're apart of something bigger than themselves. Pen1, Nazi Low Riders, White Boyz 88 etc are all typically willing to deal with other races if there's profit in it. The one thing that binds all these white supremacist gangs Whites together is their allegiance to the Aryan Brotherhood. White supremacist would be the best term for this group in my opinion.

Fear mongering is fear mongering. Individuals have their own idealogies, as they do in any criminal organization. In this case, it's about creating an image of power inside and outside of prison. Above all else, green beats the color white. These guys are doing a fantastic job. No need to act as if this concept is alien and inappropriate in a criminal setting.

Quote

The peckerwood subculture had its beginnings in Oklahoma where the word was used to refer to white inmates in the 1930s. During the Great Depression, a major migration of Oklahomans came to California's Kern County. This migration also established a newfound peckerwood subculture in California with gangs such as the Okie Bakers and Oildale Peckerwoods in Bakersfield. This subculture continued to establish among ethnic Whites in the rural farmtowns of California. The peckerwood prison subculture had its beginnings in the desegregation of United States prisons. Aryan Brotherhood had its beginnings in the California San Quentin State Prison (300 miles northwest of Kern County) in 1964 as a response to the newly formed black prison gang Black Guerilla Family.[1][2][3] The Aryan Brotherhood's alliance with the Mexican Mafia in the prison system set the foundation of street politics ever since, which also sometimes translates to the streets. The San Quentin State Aryan Brotherhood uses the gang Family Affiliated Irish Mafia (FAIM) for its street operated activity.[4]

The peckerwood subculture has established street gangs that mix elements from white power skinhead culture and conventional street gang activity, such as illegal drugs. These peckerwood street gangs generally form in lower-income or middle-class white neighborhoods, as well as Latino neighborhoods or "barrios". These gangs are the manifestation of a modern "white power" subculture that combines the elements of Sureños culture, extreme sports (surfing, skating, motocross) and cannabis smoking.[5]Stylistically these gangs combine elements of Latino gang culture (Pendleton flannel and baggy pants) and skinhead culture (Doc Marten boots, bomber jackets, and shaved heads).[6] In the 80's the swastika was also used as a general decorative symbol, but also one for shock value, and used by white and sometimes Hispanic gangs. This was also considered to be relative to lack of education on its historical context.[7]

Key point:

Ideological skinheads =/= Criminal skinheads

The faction aims to portray the ladder.
