Input lag and client side chat freezing

Can confirm I have it too, it used to happen a lot last summer, I was literally unable to even restart my PC after closing the game, it seems like it does something to Windows too. I thought it was Windows 11 so I did a clean install of 10 and it was basically fixed up until last night , I started having it again, it was in an interior with a lot of lighting and lots of furniture. I quit my game after finally getting in the F1 menu and then my computer bluescreened. When I started my computer again and loaded back in the game I didn't experience it again the rest of the evening. I got an i7 and a 3090 so I doubt that's the issue, I have never experienced this with any other game..

As much as I have been happy to see the player count hitting 900 more often, it is something I am starting to dread as this is usually when I begin to experience these issues.

I've yet to ever witness this issue, I believe this is a client <> server problem where your client is not able to properly handle all the information it's receiving. But it's hard for us to be able to work on it as we can't reproduce it.

We have been testing this at the Route 68 LTD in particular. These are our findings:

  • Input lag disappears when you move away from the interior. You can visibly see the interior lose quality.
    • This hints towards either a rendering issue or a lightmap issue.
  • To add on, we speculate it's dependent on how far away you are.
  • When a person that shares this bug with you leaves, the input lag disappears. We could not reproduce it after that.

@Elementand @gusting can say more on this.

This happened to me this past week. The weather was stormy, I was just hanging out in my house front porch outside, no cars/people nearby. Chat input lag was like a 5-10 seconds delay. Walking inside of my house made it work fine. I just relogged and the issue got solved.

What about the input lag in specific areas of the map, was that resolved, as I still witnessed a couple of areas in Vinewood where it happened. Also there's the mapping caused input lag (far as I heard it is certain lighting objects that cause it, might be other objects as well) when it comes to interior lag.

Wonder if it is GTAV / RageMP or server issue of rendering because of how RageMP is some of the rendering/sync was left to be handled by the Game Mode of the server instead of the game client like it was in SA-MP. Something I honestly do not understand because it creates a lot of pitfall areas of the game by which it can be caused (GTAV, RageMP or game mode itself) and try to debug the issue if it's nearly impossible to recreate.

I've had instances where in East LS 30 minutes on the dot you get lag, moment you move away it goes away, F1 > reconnect was also a solution to the problem but it was only viable for 30 minutes. That was happening regardless how many people you have near you as well.

I was furnishing an interior the other night and it happened to me 3 times within an hour. All the furniture in the interior would disappear, I'd fall threw the floor and upon the interior resetting itself after detecting the fall I'd have the input lag until I relog.

First time I relog instantly.
Second time I continued furnishing for about 20 minutes, trying a few random things to try and fix it, like leaving and reentering the property, changing char etc.
The third time upon relogging some of the furniture items I had purchased during the 20 minutes of continued furnishing with the bug were gone.

I've now had the bug happen within minutes of logging in, inside and outside, in a high traffic area and in an interior alone, during high pop times and low pop times.

I've started to pay very close attention to what I was doing as the bug happens. I believe it has something to do with opening and or closing a UI element (Chat-box, inventory, phone etc.) multiple times rapidly in quick succession.

EDIT: I had the bug occur for a fourth time while furnishing the same place. This time it happened while I was AFK. So, scratch my previous idea as I left to go AFK for 10 minutes without the bug, and came back with it so, I honestly have no idea what could of caused it.

However, before relogging to fix the bug, I record myself doing some testing with it. I changed character to confirm if it was a character or account-wide bug, and I found it is account-wide, but the bug occurs only in a very small area around wherever it happened first. If you walk about 50 steps away the bug is gone, if you take 50 steps back, it comes back. If you end up in that same 200ish step radius in any direction on any character the bug will reoccur, but only in that small radius around where it first occurred. It also doesn't seem to care about interior layers, as the bug happened inside a multi-interior complex but persists outside the building as well, but only for a limited range.

I have about 15-20 minutes of video of me testing the bug once I realized I had it which I'd be happy to upload and send to whoever it might help solve the issue.

Also, I believe it can be recreated inside interiors quite easily with the furniture system somehow as until I started trying to furnish this interior the bug was rare for me, but now it's making mapping nearly impossible.
