    Road Tax...

Fix it, or Remove it, removing it would be the more sensible option. Removing Road Tax: By removing it, you'll be part of United States again, a place that has no such thing as road tax, a place that you guys RP being part of. THE ONLY kind of tax any state in USA has is the emissions and engine size and even still it's included into the registration fees of the vehicle. I know you're using it as a way to take money out of the circulation to control it, but.. aren't you doing enough of that already? Fixing Road Tax: There is a way to keep this ridiculous thing you call road tax and that is by simply fixing it. Currently, people pay what seems to be a random road tax to keep a vehicle road legal ---- that's.. stupid. Please read: As you would think, road tax is generally based world wide on a few factors, the emissions, engine size, weight.. things as such. NOT OF IT'S PRICE.. . SO.. to fix it's ridiculous pricing or fix the ridiculous weekly cost.. make it monthly AT LEAST. (edit: was grumpy writing it, fixed some things)
  3. I'm all for it but I will point out a major issue that's going on regarding properties. The market, for the current player base, in terms of properties and vehicles is a shambles, so adding more properties will only damage it further.
  4. Point is: We, obviously enjoy the realism side of things, but that simply does not mean that we as humans, don't want to enjoy a different bit of RP on the rare occasion. I'd even be happy with sleet, which is very plausible, having an ocean around us, even if we are basing the island of SA to the south west of USA, the warm front of the south, versus the cold front of the north would cause for sleet, rather than snow on most occasions, even during the night. I find it silly with how big of a deal it is for ya'll to go so against your players a bit of fun and rare rp that can only happen during the winter time of the year, for literally like two days at most, which don't even have to be specifically around Christmas.
  5. Too many comments to quote all of the references toward LA.
  6. Well if you're saying we're on the west coast, you're obviously pointing down south with this giant issue you're having with having a day or two of snow, anywhere upward you do get snow. So it's quite clear that ya'll are saying "We're basically California."
  7. You're talking about things that last for long periods. This is snow we're talking about, it melts - and nobody here has ever said "Los Santos is now the new North Pole with Santa running around in sleighs to murder and rob the children of their toys" (would make a fun DLC for online though lol). Is 2 days, of snow, that doesn't have to stay for long during those two days reaaaallly going to kill every single piece of reality that comes with real life weather? The snow can be RP'd as sleet too you know? And yes, EliH is absolutely dead on. People will eventually stop playing when the game turns into hassle by becoming too real. If you're trying to make it so real, then fix the economy to real amounts earned and real pricing, fix the car market, the house market, the current economy is a complete shambles, 90% of the population, including LEO's would be in jail or prison for various crimes, small or large.. if you want the weather to fit the so beloved LA everyone thinks this is, then fix it and have people actually looking at the weather forecast for LA instead of tossing in the occasional rain whenever they feel like, which is daily, which as I've already previously pointed out, wrong.
  8. Which part of what I said isn't true? The fact that the laws isn't RP'd properly or the fact that Los Santos isn't connected to USA on a real life map that people can't seem to understand but go along with it anyway because Los Santos is designed off LA because Rockstar likes to mimic the idea of real life cities in their video games? Just because my little town has a square that reminds me of the Time Square in New York doesn't mean it's New York man ?
  9. Point out Los Santos / State of San Andreas on the United States Map - At best, you could RP Los Santos as an Island off the coast of US, governed by US laws, which we don't seem to RP properly anyway.
  10. Don't have to. Here in Ireland they don't have snow tyres, unless you order them specially which nobody does because they're expensive and we still get snow every year for a few days, instead most people just don't go to work rofl. Hence, the RP of driving on regular tyres during snow makes it quite interesting, should anyone do that.
  11. AMEN! Someone finally noticed California is connected to the rest of the mainland! lmfao
  12. I'm pretty sure I can tell the difference that when the rain slowly rolls in or when the rain suddenly starts raining with the clouds changing up in an instant being the key difference in telling if an admin has or hasn't set the weather to rain. 95% of the time, nobody says a thing in OOC, matter of fact I've only seen you do it.
  13. Oh please don't start about realistic weather... Ya'll have the rain on every damn day because..? ?
  14. You forget, it's a game in the end, nobody in their lifetime will ever achieve 100% realism. Besides, what's so wrong about breaking that /100 years/ in a game for like a couple days?
  15. No... jk, yes please snow
  16. There is a solution to people who try to bypass AFK scripts, quite a severe punishment is often given to people on other servers who do such things. Of course, with an automated Anti-AFK script, people will look and probably find ways to bypass them, hence it will still require admins to occasionally check up on people through spectating. The idea Maple has put forth with the sentence is okay I suppose, not a fan of it personally but it's better that the current system, so long as that stuff doesn't pop up every 10 minutes. BUT -- I'm not going to be picky about it. I simply want the /pm's from admins gone, since I've had cases where I forget I have to type /pma instead of just /pm and get kicked because of it :L
  17. One thing is for sure. Having a completely automated script would be better for everyone. But having the notification and then requiring a player to type out the /resetafk command would also be a bit annoying, though it would be better by far. In any case. Having the Anti-AFK scripted to be based more on text is the way to go imo. Even if you do drive around a lot to pass the time and such, you are bound to type a command of sorts.
  18. Nope. Text based AFK detection systems look for messages that have been sent, not for the chat box being open. Therefor, a player would have to send a command through such as a /me or anything as such. For example: Humour RP's in a bar, sat on a stool at the bar itself. He sends a /me through for drinking a beer. That resets the afk timer. He then however, goes AFK and doesn't send any messages through for (say) 10 minutes, which results in him being detected by the AFK script and being automatically kicked.
  19. I'm getting tired of being PM'd by an admin when I RP on the spot for more than ten minutes or w/e the timer is. Instead of using player movement as a way to catch AFK people, which can be easily abused. Please put in a typing based anti-afk script. So: Instead of using a movement based AFK timer, implement a typing based script along with it or replace it entirely. Notifying admins if a player hasn't been typing for 5-10 minutes instead of not moving. Benefit: No more annoying PM's for players wishing to RP in a single location for extensive periods. Because it's really frustrating having to constantly be PM'd by an admin "AFK?" when I'm sitting somewhere and RP'ing on the spot. :L

    Player-Kill Rework

My opinion after reading over the topic and first few comments. Those who are saying anyone RP'ing death should be forcibly CK'd can in my personal opinion go screw themselves. LS-RP had this similar issue with people using death as a means to avoid jail/prison or whatever else have you. If it is someone RP'ing death after getting into a car crash during a pursuit by the police or RP reaching for an imaginary gun just to get shot by the police, then yes.. Force CK them, please.. It's so annoying lmao. Otherwise, it is up to the players own decision - specifically on heavier injuries like someone shooting another, to decide how capable their character is at surviving the injuries received. If people are being dumb and RP'ing death from small injuries, like a single stab wound to the gut, then yes.. that should be a CK. Essentially; People that don't understand how to accept a loss and blatantly RP death after having been shot three times or crash a car to avoid prison or anything else, should be reported for poor RP/ warned that it'd be a CK / CK'd if they still prefer death over taking the L and accepting the fact they got caught slipping. It is the best way to go about the issue. Edit; This all falls under common courtesy and role-play capability/quality. It varies from situation to situation, keep that in mind.
  21. All the quotes above have missed the fact that I have said "unless literally - properly roleplayed." ? Still nobody signs a contract to work for a full week when they go in to try a job and keep in mind, people WILL go for the one they find more fun and more fitting for their characters. I'm not and never have said the script jobs are bad, of course they're wonderful - when everyone start's actually RP'ing them, of which I've only seen the bewers doing a couple ads and the garages doing their thing. Anyway; A week is too much, 3 days sure OK, you can quit the job then take the 3 days as a time frame revolving around finding a new job which would be a cool down period. A week? Why? Why should it be that long when IRL it doesn't take me a week to quit a job I don't like? Edit: Keep in mind, if people are going to go around and seek a job they'll enjoy and try to make a business out of - they'll be forced to wait a week if you do 7 days until they can try the next one.
  22. Well to be frank, I don't think this is that big of an issue. When I take up a job IRL and go in for my first day and absolutely dislike what I'm asked to do, I don't wait for a week, I just let them know and go once the shift is over. 24 Hours is enough of a wait. Adding in levels makes no sense to me either. If you want levels, you just go work for a player owned business and progress through whatever staff ranks they have like a regular store for example; Shop Keeper, Stocks Manager, Assistant Staff Manager, Staff Manager, Head Manager, Head of Managment, Area Manager (State/County), Director/CEO. Or another example of when I worked in a fast food place that worked alongside Papa Johns we had; Kitchen Staff, Service Staff (essentially front desk), Pizza Staff (for papa johns side), Trainee Manager, Manager, Head of Staff, Head of Management, Payroll Management, Store Owner (since the two companies rent it from the building owner), Area Management (All State/County stores), Board Directors, CEO's. These scripted jobs aren't or shouldn't really be actual careers unless literally, properly role-played. Think of them more as starter jobs for new players to get going(yes, allow them to grind it if they want, their own choice to ruin their own fun if they do), specifically those who don't like RP'ing being fresh off the boat/plane with 10 bucks in the pocket in a new world but instead, being a local. One important thing that I always do love to press on is the whole "making it too real" problem. Keep in mind, we're not here to have a job, if we want an actual job, we would probably just go and have one irl. We're here to have fun and RP. Don't get me wrong there though - I get what you mean, but if that is something you want, then create a business in-game that people will enjoy for as long as they are in-game. You'll find it's not that easy. Hence these scripted jobs are there as a starting point for new people or people who have learned of ways to incorporate them within their own businesses. Much like the developers have done with the Brewery for example.
  23. Short description: Essentially, adding in the ability to talk to someone through doors at places like homes or businesses with a simple command. In addition, including a command enabling a player to roleplay through a door, with /do's. Detailed description: I'm not aware on if this exists or not but, having to use PM's or having to /enter or /exit an interior to talk to or roleplay with whomever is behind a door seems a little shitty. Therefor, implementing two or three commands would be better. Taking a PD situation as an example: An officer has just pursued a suspect to a house, the suspect which is unknown to be armed or not has entered the house and the officer doesn't want to follow him inside due to insufficient knowledge on what/who else is inside or if the suspect is armed, therefor the officer calls a tactical team. In the meantime while waiting for the tactical team, the officer has only one option, talk the suspect out of the house, doing so with /dt or /ds instead of relying on PM's. This is also when the /ddo's for things like noise, window movement, outside movement etc come into play. Commands to add: /doorshout (/ds) or /doortalk (/dt) or both. Also /ddo for /do's at doors. Items to add: N/A How would your suggestion improve the server?: It'll provide better roleplay experience to anyone involved with an interior/exterior roleplay, such as PD having to deal with a barricaded suspect or someone answering a house door when not expecting any visitors and wanting to look through the peephole at who's there or whatever. There's further benefit when it comes to this, especially in barricaded situations. An officer would have to get on /pm's with the person inside, with /do's and whatever conversation they are having which would then cause a block on everyone else involved, such as the other officers on the scene. With the ability to use /dt or /ds, they could have a conversation, with everyone near the door able to hear. The same goes for /me's and /do's. Additional information: /dt should have a range of 5 meters, /ds should have a range of 15-20 meters or so.
  24. IRL before you go and jump from a plane or go base jumping, you've to undergo parachute training. During this training, you are taught how to repack your parachute after you've landed. There isn't such a thing as bundling up your parachute, driving down to a hardware store where a feller packs it up all neat and tidy to luxurious standard for a fee. Yep, the parachutes should most definitely be reusable rather than one time use items.
  25. It would make sense but at the same time it would not. Sure, you could restrict ore storage to industrial vehicles but I can name various ways of how mined ore can be stored in a regular sedan's trunk such as using a tarp, crates, etc. Pickup trucks make great vehicles for transporting loose substances like dirt etc, all you have to do is lay a tarp over whatever you've loaded, sand, ores etc. Mules can again, roleplay loading stuff in by crates or barrels of mined ores. It'd be nice to see those trucks though, /without having to be part of any construction faction/ ._.
