  1. Why would I share the entire story? I was simply asked to lay out the actions I took to protect myself as a legal character.
  2. Sure. But the fact that criminals don't care at all about the risks themselves because the punishment is 2 days in jail and the detectives drop investigation OOC'ly due to unrealism and bullshit such as the criminal group shooting multiple people in the middle of a town is simply not fair to the person being extorted.
  3. Absolutely. I agree that it is bullying and there is no way anyone should put up with it simply because 'IC is IC'. It is a matter of common courtesy.
  4. Sure, I went to police and actively cooperated with them to help with investigation. The incident was recorded by CCTV inside my property and the group was seen slamming me against the wall, surrounding me, none of them were masked. P.S. After a week of reporting it to the law enforcement I spoke with the detective on discord and he told me that they are not RP'ing that investigation anymore. I think it's something to do with the faction doing some crazy shootouts all over the place to the point where police just couldn't be arsed anymore as it was unrealistic. I already had security contractors, I had my business put as high priority to increase patrol times. I made posts on Face browser saying that the business is being targeted (Publicity is often used by journalists to avoid being kidnapped or killed, because if that happened It would be quite clear who did it). I reached out to multiple business owners and other influential people like county district representative and LS Mayor at that time. At the end of the day, none of that deterred the group (they have seen multiple police and security cars outside the business so they were aware of the actions I am taking). They continued to harass the business and It got to a point where every time I log In I have to spend my time RPing my response to vandalism and other harassment and had no time to do other RP. As someone mentioned in another thread extorters for legal rp'ers are like a leech - they're not enjoyable, but you can't really get rid of them. Personally it got to the point for me where RPing my character was frustrating and not enjoyable at all and I had to take a break from RP.

    [Guide] Extortion

I feel like FIB would be dope RP and also introduce element of fear for criminal organisations. Because RN you can have as many CCTVS as you want, security and there is no legal way to get out of extortion, like creator of this thread refers to CK if you don't pay the criminals. So because someone else decided to abuse your business, you are now at risk of CK, but the other group is at risk of 2 days in jail or 30min admin jail LOL.

Maybe they should implement FBI as a new faction with more freedom and focused purely on these lengthy investigations with power to take down illegal factions if they fuck up too much.
  7. I have been looking for a News radio with a link that would work on UCP. Does anyone know where to find some?

    [Guide] Extortion

@Ink No one could say it better! Especially about extortion RP being toxic: Last time I was extorted couple months ago I did everything I can. Informed police, informed security contractors, which I already had about what happened, told everyone I knew about it (Including Halford who was mayor at the time, Hoffman as district representative) and many influential business people and shared that the business is being targeted on social media. (Publicity is often used by journalists who are being targeted by mobsters to avoid being killed) The group that was extorting me, although they were filmed on CCTV slamming my character against the wall and police had the evidence still continued to vandalise and send threats to my character. Although I roleplayed fear and did everything I can to fullest extent to roleplay it properly without bending a knee, It got to the point where when ever I log in I would be busy roleplaying my response to various threats and vandalisms at my business. This left no time whatsoever to run the business, organise IC events or generate other roleplay (I am the type of person who likes chill, immersive, casual roleplay over shootouts and other intense drama). Eventually I got sick and tired of it, roleplayed my character getting exhausted and left the state (stopped playing for over a month) and only came back when I found out the faction closed. Also, a lot of people say "Why not just pay? You make 20k per opening anyway". The truth is many businesses that roleplay properly hire staff and spend their profits to generate more roleplay (often by hiring more people to generate that roleplay: security, bartenders, marketers, marketing campaigns, special events, etc). After all those expenses they can be left with 10-20k profit per week, when you take out personal expenses (especially if someone is roleplaying rich and using personal security contractors to go places) barely anything is left. Also, any legal person with common sense would understand that affiliating with criminal organisation in anyway or getting into some payment schemes with them will only lead to bad things in the future, payments increase, special demands increase and over-time the extorters may get more leverage to abuse the business). @Mahiko good points too 👍

  11. I mainly roleplay as a legal character. My favourite thing is working on some business or organisation projects that then offer value to other players. I do enjoy illegal RP, but as last year I saw too much toxicity and OOC affiliations between factions and It just wasn't immersive to me. So now I just RP as a legal char, stay out of illegal stuff and to me that's more immersive and chill experience. Sometimes It can be even more exciting roleplay a proper law & order type of person when everyone around you is a thug.
  12. There was one actually about a year ago, it was great, mainly passive, social roleplay around the camp. Any visitors were given sandwich and lots of philosophical conversations. It was very chill rp, I loved it. Then once you get closer to the cult they did strange ceremonies. Sadly lots of people from the city were going up to the camp in their sports cars or other groups sort of metagaming them as being a cult (because of the singleplayer location being the cult camp) rather than community living in the woods and harassing them. They tried to get their faction approved, but FM did not approve it and the people who did it gave up. 😕
  13. I would like to see new professional news agencies. There is no proper News. Like characters writing monthly, weekly newspapers, doing podcasts, interviews, investigative journalism.
  14. Personally I run and treat my business as a small addition for other characters to develop their characters in a job that is based on RP rather than grinding and give them opportunities along the way to engage and get involved in deep legal corporate, organizational RP. Generally if someone came to my business and was not an experienced RPer or had bad English, I would do my best to help them learn, improve and give some tips along the way as they RP being part of my business. At the end of the day everyone started somewhere and should be given opportunity and guidance to be able to do what they enjoy. That is not to say that I have standards, but they are more focused towards character portrayal as in I would not hire someone who would make no sense working at my business (example. Someone driving a Lamborghini working as a bartender in a small local brewery)
  15. Here is a quick example of script abuse I found in first bar I decided to visit Now the bartender said this drink was already in the bar and thinks it is regular whiskey renamed, but that would make no sense as it costs to rename 'Whiskey' and most people roleplay lore items as regular alcohol items. And I am very confident that the owner just made some craft beer and made bunch of legitimate seeming alcohol like whiskey, champagne, rum etc in the backroom or his house or w/e, then /createdrink in bulk at the bar and stocked up. This brings enormous profit to the business and completely eliminated the need for supplier.
  16. Well, If someone really has some underground operations where they are manufacturing, bottling and labelling whiskey, rakija etc that's OK. But then it should described in the name of the drink and admins should be able to see whether that RP actually occurred if suspicions arise in my opinion. Main difference between craft beer and moonshine made how it is made by most players would be that it would be held in jars or bottles with no legitimate labels that would make it sort of legal for use. That is why, from my personal experience, I have spent effort to design the bottles and labels to create a legitimate item that could be sold in bars and clubs and have a place where it can be done in terms of brewing and distillation systems. I personally never seen that sort of underground roleplay and only know of many instances of club and bar owners abusing the script, which makes many business owners not interested in seeking suppliers or partnerships. Which I see as essential part of running a business and that tends to give more depth and complexity to GTA:W roleplay in general. I know you are about generating RP and not chasing $ @zaXer. so I am confident that your position on this topic is genuine and valid 👍
  17. Those items are not allowed to be renamed into Whiskey, Rum, Champagne etc in bars or clubs and that is the issue I raise within the report - It's power gaming and abuse of the script. Business components are only $25 per bottle. The problem is If you sell it those items as $400 'Champagne' or $200 whiskey that you just made on the spot using $80 moonshine or craft beer instead of going through actual suppliers which creates RP and how is meant to be. Still don't understand why you are defending business owners abusing this script for profit and sacrificing RP.
  18. You are trying to justify the abuse of the script, almost no one actually roleplays watering down drinks. And even if it was, as @Inkmentioned - it should be roleplayed to the customers that the quality of the drink is off. Also, don't use way-off math to justify your position. Crafted cheap drink sold for $150 would bring the owner profit of $114.30. Now sell 30 beers like that and you have a profit of $3429. Usually clubs and bars sell awful lot more and charge much more too so the profit they get from abusing the script is in 10k+ range. Now that 10k+ would be better off moving between Liquor Stores and other alcohol suppliers and generating roleplay between the businesses.
  19. I think this would help anyone who is running a business and trying to manage it realistically and also people who want to have savings account etc. Personally right now I have to keep a note of 'Company' cash on google sheets as it is mixed up with my personal cash both in one bank account.
  20. Finish Uni and keep working on myself, stay healthy and consistent with Gym and other habbits. Second half of 2021 find a full-time job and start doing Financial Advisor course.
  21. I think If you receive alcohol which says (FOOD) at the end It can easily be reported as it is clear it's neither from liquor store nor from other alcohol distributor that sells craft beer and moonshine. It's really a shame though' because running a business should generate roleplay and not be used for pure profit. @The OG Juicebox @Ink @knppel @Entity @roymar Following your feedback I edited the suggestion. Changed testing kit idea to leaving name of base item drink at the end of drink name after it's renamed to help people notice and report abuse of the script. Hope the discussion continues and we save our alcohol economy. 😄
  22. Not bad idea I suppose. As long as that allows alcohol manufacturing companies to still make their own brands and not get called out for it being 'named' moonshine at the end of the drink name.
