Malik Bradford or "Mal," as he's known to his friends, is 24 years old - born and raised in southern Los Santos County, Davis. He joined the local gang over at Davis when he was 9 years old in his search for acceptance. With two careless parents, he and his brother Caleb basically were living on the streets. They'd stay at people's houses, crashing on sofas and living room floors. They both began getting into all types of crime from an early age, from breaking into buildings to car theft. After the arrest of Caleb, Malik's grandmother offered him a place to stay due to his parents being unfit to support him. He moved in with his grandmother who owned a small studio apartment over at Bridge Street, Hawick. From there, Malik made a complete 180 in his life, from being a young hoodrat in Davis to now having a college degree and his own radio station "UrbanFM." Caleb Bradford got charged with first-degree murder in 2013. Caleb's friends were cruising around in a car, late in the evening when they saw a car which his friends thought belonged to a rival gang pulling up to a red light. They drove up to the vehicle and opened fire. The driver was hit several times but managed to survive, it didn't end well for the guy in the passenger seat as he passed away. Caleb was twenty-one years old when he was found guilty of murder and attempted murder. He was also accused for benefiting a criminal organization. He claimed that he was home at the time it all occurred - instead of investigating, Caleb was linked with the street gang after it was proven that he participated in a store robbery which happened in 2012. Caleb appealed the decision, and the judge chose to dismiss the charges and discontinue prosecution against him. His release hinged largely on the inclusion of evidence against him, that the court decided had a significant prejudical effect on the jury that convicted him. Caleb had spent five years in prison convicted for a crime he didn't commit. After his release he linked up with his younger brother, Malik, who hadn't visited him once during his jailtime. Even though he didn't like the idea of running back to his brother, he had no other choice. When they met up, Malik apologized to him and explained why he didn't visit him in prison. Malik gave Caleb some cash to get him back up on his feet - Caleb managed to rent himself an apartment and an old rusty Tornado to travel with. Caleb's and Malik's childhood friend Bango, who ran with the same gang, had gotten himself out of the hood life as well and is running a successful construction company with his associates. Caleb now occasionally works for him, doing basic construction work.
