YouTube Streaming TV's.

Recommended Posts

This is literally just a 3d chromium window rendered near the TV/attached to a texture

Now there is several problems with this.

  1. Videos are rendered on each users PC so they will NOT be synced correctly ever.
    1. Users will run into issues of country blocks on certain videos etc
    2. Users will see different ads and ad durations causing the video to not be synced also
  2. Implementing this on a server as large as GTAW would require @Nervousto sign up for the google API and monitor usage. source: https://developers.google.com/youtube/v3/getting-started
  3. FiveM scripts are not compatible with RageMP, this would ned to be recoded from the ground up.
  4. A lot of work when you can just use windows new picture in picture mode

decent response tbf rather than just slamming the suggestion, if its possible its cool, if its as much effort as @Junx has explained, then really is it worth it? 🙂

But the existing theater script can just be re-worked right? It doesn't gotta be perfect, but it'd make a lot of people happy!

How bad could it be tho?

Put it this way, someone would walk in 3 minutes into a 10 minute video and it would play from 0:00 for them, then when the video finished for everyone else it would instantly stop for the other person and go onto the current one.

Also I wasn't even using the API to avoid any costs and was using the youtube tv interface to make it look nicer, the correct way of doing this is much more complex.

Looks like the method I used isnt even available anymore rip
