Amendment to Rule 17 in regards to sexual advertisements

Therefore, I am proposing that Rule 17 is amended to cover pornographic studios looking for new actors/actresses, advertising their content, and the same with sex stores advertising their stores. This also ties in with realism that you will most likely not hear about a local sex store opening over the radio, TV, or on a billboard where most advertisements are viewed from as they are mostly "taboo" establishments.

In addition, I've seen administrators not fulfill their duties when enforcing Rule 17 in general, I've noticed a large influx of "personal" advertisements, specifically ones in regards to men and women wanting to work in the pornographic industry. Again, I understand this is against the rules, but game admins should strive in attempt to enforce this rule a little more as I've personally noticed it being slipped away.

EDIT: After reading some of the replies I believe it would be best adding a NSFW section in /ads that people can post ads in. By default they will not show up in the bottom right of your screen, you'll have to manually enable to view it. Alternatively, you can just click on the section and view all the NSFW ads that would be shown there, so like the sex store ads, strip clubs, porn companies, and so on. /nsfwad to post in there.

First of all, I understand that all ages wanna enjoy the game, but this is an 18+ game, it's expected that disturbing shit will surf around a lot. I suggest either turning off your ads or when you see an advertisement familiar to being 18+ (Like BigBootyStudios or smth) just don't read the ad, it's pretty simple.

Read through the thread, multiple people OF AGE have clearly stated that this makes them uncomfortable. The thought that people are soliciting online sex makes my skin crawl to be frank with you, and many others agree. I don't care if people do it, just don't flaunt it in mine and others' faces.

 

I will not toggle my advertisements because good advertisements come in occasionally.

 

Saying that this is an 18+ game and therefore I should deal with it is not the mindset that is accepted on this server, but people still think it is. Everyone's welcome to play, therefore, the server should attempt to facilitate that. There's multiple rules in place to protect minors because getting rid of them/adding 18+ verification is NEVER going to happen.

If people can be irritated by something as innocuous as "18 year old girl looking for work" then I can be irritated with car commercials, which are just as against the rules, and my feelings are just as valid as everyone else's.

 

But the difference between me and a lot of other people is that I deal with my feels and I don't try to force other people to change what they're doing to suit me.

There's a very big difference between feeling disgusted/uncomfortable and feeling annoyed, those feelings do not coincide.

And the server does!  The server has always welcomed younger players.  People need to stop copping that bullshit WATC tactic, and just say they don't like any ads that could be construed as having something to do with You-Know-What.  What the server must NEVER do is constrict everyone's choices to cater to the POSSIBLE discomfort of one particular group.

And that is why I have suggested to not totally kill it off!

 

If you read through the OP you'll see that it was discussed between the people who post these advertisements and myself, coming to an agreement that adding a separate NSFW section that you can disable without blocking out bads, cads and normal ads.

It's a matter of degree, and my feelings matter too.  Don't tell me what I can and can't feel uncomfortable with.  Other people in this thread have stated that they are merely irritated with those ads, but you don't try to discredit their feelings.  There are a lot of things that I'm uncomfortable with and disgusted by in this game, usually the behavior and speech of other players.  But, it's part of the game, so I leave it alone unless it breaks the rules.
