  1. This shared thread showcases the life of a twin pair, Josiah and Derrick FLUDD Jr. A couple of siblings trying to survive in a swamp area of West Los Santos, trying to find a way with all odds against them, they'd do whatever they could to stay afloat especially when their parents that once held praise at a local church, are now out of work after a tragic shooting that left the father and former pastor paralyzed. Here lies a closer look into the twins' illegal antics of adjusting to their environment, while also becoming a product to it, in which eventually led them into their drive to gain recognition from the street gang that riddles the area, WEST SIDE PLAYBOY GANGSTER CRIP. 2. V-Town Playboys Gangster Crips [PBGC] are a predominately African-American street gang located in a West LS neighborhood in Vespucci Canals. At its height, this neighborhood's turf went from the La Puerta 10 Freeway (South) to 18th Street (North) from San Andreas Boulevard (East) to Bay City Avenue (West) during the 1980s and 1990s. In 1987, City Attorney James Hahn requested the first injunction against an entire gang in this neighborhood. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed an appeal on behalf of the PBGS, and a judge eventually denied Hahne's request because the gang injunction as it was written as a violation of the First Amendment right of freedom of association to the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendment rights to due process. A couple of months later, Hahn went back to court with a modified version of his initial injunction and was able to get a judge to approve a preliminary injunction against the ACLU's recommendations. Since the 1980s, this mostly African-American community has seen an influx of Hispanic immigrants into this working class neighborhood that has reduced the size of the Black community and the membership of the gang, which still exists in the same area. West Los Santos (or WLS, West LS) & South Central are different in many ways, both in & outside of the gang politics, but it also has some similarities. West LS gang banging is different from South Central gang banging. - Playboy Gangster Crips (3x/GC) - School Yard Crips (Formerly 2x but do not claim neither 2x or 3x in current times) - Vespucci Shoreline Crips (2x) - West Boulevard Crips (2x) - Graveyard Gangster Crips (3x) - Mansfield Gangster Crips (3x) - Blastin Fools Gangster Crips (3x) - By Yourself Gangster Crips (3x) - Marvin Gangster Crips (3x) WLS gangs are made up of Deuces (2x), Trays (3x/Gangster Crips) & Mexican gangs such as Culver City Boys 13, Vespucci 13 & Del Perro 13, just to name a few. Many people confuse the 2x car with Neighborhood Crips which is not the case. Both cars are affiliated with each other, but they're not the same. Some well known WLS gangs consist of: - Playboy Gangster Crips (3x/GC) - School Yard Crips (Formerly 2x but do not claim either 2x or 3x in current times) - Vespucci Shoreline Crips (2x) - West Boulevard Crips (2x) - Graveyard Gangster Crips (3x) WLS has more of a suburban setting versus South Central where they have much more hoods & ghettos. WLS is more at risk for gentrification due to the high value of the houses & other property throughout different neighborhoods in the area. For this reason, WLS gangs hustle and grind a lot more to keep from being pushed out of the community. WLS gangs are also prone to gang injunctions as part of the process of gentrification; the Playboy Gangster Crips had a gang injunction back in 1987, which was an attempt to dismantle the gang but ultimately failed. For this reason, WLS gangs are not known to be super reckless/crash dummies as a gang to stay off the radar of law enforcement but regardless, these gangs still push their line and put on for the set. For several years prior to 2020, crime in Vespucci Beach had generally been on a downward trajectory. It is nearly impossible to pinpoint any single, overarching reason for the rebound, but experts have pointed to a range of possible contributing factors including economic insecurity, school closures and isolation from the pandemic. Police have also blamed a proliferation of easily accessible ghost guns along with bail and sentencing reforms they say allow repeat offenders to quickly return to the streets after an arrest. In March 2021, then-Chief of Police Robert Luna also pointed the finger at emergency measures to reduce jail populations during the pandemic meant to slow the spread of the deadly disease. “Prisons and jails have released large numbers of inmates to reduce the risk of exposure; more repeat offenders are being released on bail; trials and other court proceedings have experienced significant delays; school closures and lack of programming has negatively impacted youth engagement; and, with a record number of gun sales in 2020, there are more guns on the street,” he said. Police say they worked to take more guns off the streets as shootings in Vespucci Beach spiked during the first half of 2021 and the number of people wounded in those shootings also rose 55% as of July. Shootings have risen sharply since 2019, when the city recorded 122, to 544 in 2021, according to LSPD data. Overall, gun arrests were up 36% in 2021 as police have poured hundreds of thousands of dollars into increased patrols and operations to take illegal weapons off the streets, including a buyback program that gave residents a way to get rid of unwanted firearms in exchange for gift cards. A buyback event in October resulted in a total of 280 guns being turned in. Police found, however, that the guns being turned in were not necessarily those they were trying to link with shooting cases. In July, Luna said his officers—including specialized gun seizure teams—were taking an average of about 21 guns per week off the city’s streets. “I’m telling you right now that if our officers weren’t out there doing that proactive work, I don’t know where our shootings and murder rates would be right now,” Luna said at the time. In the time since its inception, the LSPD’s specialized Coordinated Response Team seized over 150 firearms. The department as a whole seized 1,057 firearms in 2021, a 37.3% increase from 2020, according to a city statement. The city says 2021 also ended on a positive note when it comes to gun violence. There were only 26 shooting incidents in December 2021 compared to the 53 reported in December 2020, according to the LSPD. “While gun violence continues to be at an increased level, it has been substantially reduced over the course of 2021 through the various strategies implemented by the Police Department and supporting departments,” police said in a statement. Meanwhile, property crime slightly decreased compared to 2020, which police have attributed to a reduction in petty thefts, garage burglaries, commercial burglaries and bike thefts. They said these categories declined 54.1%, 37.1%, 26.8% and 21.9%, respectively.
  3. DeGuzman & Associates is a Southeast Asian DTO based in West Los Santos. Formed in the late 2000s by Southeast Asian gang members who came from different cliques and decided to team-up to make tons of money. The group was originally formed to make a lot of money and help the Southeast Asian immigrant community especially the poor ones. While formed by primarily Cambodians and Filipino, the group opens up to the ethnic group of Hmong, Vietnamese, Thai, Laotian, Indonesian and Chinese. DeGuzman & Associates is a Southeast Asian DTO based out in West Los Santos. The group was involved in various illegal activities such as money laundering, extortion, drug trafficking, illegal gambling and prostitution. Established in the late 2000s, the DeGuzman & Associates thrived as a result of a lucrative drug-distribution and various illegal gambling operations based throughout Los Santos. The group profited off these operations by distributing hard-substance drugs around to feed the addiction of hopeless drug-addicts. Most of the members of this so-called Drug Trafficking Organization are ex-gang members of defunct Asian cliques around the City like the Parkside Satanas, Jamestown V-Boyz, etc. In 2013, the group decided to expand their business for more opportunities, Edgar "Kapitan" DeGuzman, Louis "Snake Eyes" Sok, along with the other inner-circled associates decided to expand their business-connect with a local Cartel-cell that operates in Los Santos under Beltrán-Leyva Cartel. It was too much for the group to handle, with the amount of products they get from their new business-partner, with the large amount of money that's coming in to their Organization, they caught the attention of the police that they should be avoiding at all cost. The group was briefly investigated by the local law enforcement authorities and later classified as a federal case after one of the associates sold multiple teenagers solid-based cocaine containing fentanyl, which led to the death of Tony Hwan, of Koreatown, LS. In November 2016, both Edgar "Kapitan" DeGuzman and Louis "Snake Eyes" Sok were both arrested during a drug bust coordinated by the Federal Bureau of Investigations. One of the gang members, also known as "Stacks" decided to cooperate with the authorities, because of the numerous charges that were thrown against him he decided to testify in the hopes of having a reduced prison sentence . Both Edgar DeGuzman and Louis Sok were incarcerated for possession of narcotics with intent to sell and possession of illegal firearm, with sentences varying from eight to ten years, which led to the downfall of the group. Marcelo DeGuzman was a gang member of a defunct clique known as Pinoy Re-Al or Pinoy Royals and he was one of the high-ranking member, involved in various criminal activities such as armed robbery, burglary, extortion, drug trafficking and so on. He is the nephew of Edgar "Kapitan" DeGuzman, after the fall of Pinoy Re-Al due to an Injunction a lot of the gang members was incarcerated but Marcelo DeGuzman somehow managed to get away from the cops as he went back to Philippines before the cops could arrest him. Since the situation at Los Santos was very-hot at the moment, he decided to lay-low at the Philippines, living with his family. In November 2020, Marcelo DeGuzman went back to Los Santos along with his cousin. Marcelo was asked by his Uncle to pick up the things he left-behind, his Uncle knew that Marcelo is a good street-soldier and he is someone that he can control even though he is currently locked up. After laying low for four-years, the cops are no longer looking for him and his old gang is no longer around. The area that they used as a hang-out spot is now occupied by a different-set. So Marcelo and his cousin decided to move in with their Auntie who is the wife of Edgar DeGuzman who has house at Vespucci Canal.
