  1. I have no idea whether inactivity applies to commercial property but these places are essential to creating pass through visitors and congregation points for people.
  2. Yeah but the one in the center used to be a great hub due to its location (can't remember it's name). I've not seen the Boathouse or Yellowjacket open at all, but that could just be my TZ. The biker place in Sandy does open
  3. What has happened to the bar in the center of town? Does that open any more ?
  4. I think the general issue is most robberies occur in the hope of securing high value assets such as guns and most kidnapping takes place to remove the risk of consequences which is a form of power gaming. The portrayal in relation to this is always spectacular poor imo and generally takes advantage of server dynamics. I've been robbed in areas that would have a much higher level of footfall irl, but as they are deserted in game they become high risk areas. Secondly I've been tossed in a car and dumped in a dessert. Not only is this an appalling experience for the victim as it just kills so much time, adding the charge of kidnap to a street mugging is a step further than most people would go irl, but as the consequences are so much worse than they are IG but people conveniently overlook that. I've lived in Sandy at the time you couldn't leave your house for gangbangers on dirt bikes rolling up and robbing you. Again this was wilful abuse of the sever dynamics to get to quiet areas with little law enforcement presence and with very low footfall. Walk out the house and they are waiting for you as you have a car outside. You can't look through the window first due to game limitations. Who knows, the OP might be better than this, but too many people abused the above points for too long resulting in the rules being created.
  5. A few points Miraculous recovery from wounds needs to stop. It's heavy roleplay and I was reading on a report this morning of someone who managed to be shooting again just an hour after being injured in a previous shooting where they had been injured. Apparently they had treated thier wounds, but how on earth is that heavy rp. I don't care how gangster or mobbed up you are resorting to guns more than once a week is poor character portrayal let alone multiple times a day. Some form of counter should flag players for portrayal review if they injure people repeatedly (maybe stop them equipping weapons if they have used them more than twice in 7 days to injure ) Further the amount of "civilians" who whip out a gun and ultimately escalate issues is staggering. The reality is most people wouldn't do this irl as it only served to escalate situations (and heho guess what happens here). Jail - I really struggle with people who do the crime and won't do meaningful time. Again it's heavy roleplay, so avoiding these consequences is not heavy roleplay. I read this "my character is a hard core banger or mobster", well the reality is most bangers end up jail for long stints when young and mobsters do also. The lack of RICO also creates a major lack of fear for faction leaders as a lot of them would be shut down very quickly through the actions of thier members Linked to the above, stitching. Real life consequences of getting caught mean people snitch. I have seen great roleplay on this server with people turning informer and they represent the best rolplayers. The P2W mentality is non existent in their approach to the game and their faction. And the final nonsense is "my character is so hard core and seen so much". I have never seen this portrayed well once. Their emotionally like ice when it comes to killing but then manage to function normally in every other aspect of thier game time as it suits the player. These people would be absolute messes and would end up dead or in jail very quickly. So anyway, if consequences were heavily roleplayed shooting would diminish
  6. In character consequences that make people consider their life. Shot a cop irl you are going to get caught and going to serve a life sentence. So yes that means people will CK / NC, but I completely agree with the above point that a forced cooling of period should apply to the player that does that. Equally shootings would go down if every traffic stop didn't result in a search of the vehicle for a gun. I think LEO could chill on that unless an evidentiary reason exists to search for a gun. 60% of vehicles on the server are driven by criminals so the hit ratio to real life is way higher.
  7. There has been some great country role play community times on this server, but it takes a lot of effort from all involved in the area to make it feel like a community including the illegal factions. I actually think the factions ability to work with non-faction members and welcome them into their areas is the secret. I'm not faction bashing as I haven't rp'd in the county for a long time so I have no idea what the current scene is like, but that is what made the difference in the past.
  8. A suggestion to help with the above would be to limit the amount of LEO on voip at any given moment and to create cop roles that are more about street and community policing. Personally I would love to RP a cop, but I have zero interest in the tactical aspects of the role or the full on chases that traffic stops seem to turn into too frequently (not the cops fault). There was a great Deputy character called Rin up in Sandy who did this perfectly and was always available for minor crime in the locale. My point being I don't think you'll change this with the bias towards tactical capability in LEO
  9. Not so much a comment on the suggestion, but the concept of a character that only works kinda misses the rp aspect of character development
