Everybody else follows that restriction, do you see white power gangs just deciding to become their own prison STGs after some time, or Sureno factions just deciding to make La EME 2.0 in prison because they "developed enough", do you see black gangs turning into The Lucas Crime Family because they've been 'building connections' for months? The only genre of RP that happens in frequently is LCN, as I've stated before they use the crew as an excuse to develop into a crime family, crime families do not work in this environment, it was quite evident during the Conti-MCF era considering the number of dumb wars. A gang remains a gang because that's what it should represent, LCN represents what other people like Chuckles have already stated here, that's the only thing it should represent to fit on the server. Also, being as petty as I am you should be the last person to talk about Jealously, wtf would I be jealous of? I've had only good experiences rping with the original MCF, as a crew and after the transition, and after all of that I would still tell you that it doesn't fit and never will.

Misunderstood my point entirely I'll explain, how often do you see crip sets, or skinhead gangs evolve into an OCG on this server? They rarely do because in reality gangs don't evolve into some sort of OCG they remain gangs because that would be the realistic course, 8 trey gangster crips started in 1975 it's still a gang to this day. The LCN crew developing into a formal family started in LSRP there isn't even a real account of that happening in reality, it started on RP servers where people didn't have enough roleplayers to roleplay a family from the get-go so they started with a crew. What most of the people on this topic are saying is that in LA, it should never develop into anything, every criminal entity on this server serves some purpose, an LCN group would have a specific purpose in LS one which does not need to evolve into something bigger.

Where did I say that all groups are unrealistic? The LSPD/LSSD being able to shut down any faction has 0 to do with the faction and it being unrealistic, it's about game limitations, for example, on the server a rolling 60s set has 30 people where in reality they'd be in the thousands. The LSPD can easily shut down a 30-man faction with the resources they have currently and it can be seen as purely IC but they won't because of obvious reasons. Calling me a "whiner" and that other kid saying that LCN stole my lunch money is actually funny as fuck considering that I roleplayed with MCF from its inception, and left on my own accord without any drama or ill will because of real-life obligations, if anything I should be an advocate for LCN roleplay after doing it for years but I see that it does not fit and it never will, all my arguments are valid and the same sentiment is shared with most people here.

There are OOC limitations in every aspect of roleplay, if not the LSPD/LSSD would have already shut down every illegal faction on this server. This is why the concept should remain dead, eventually, people like you would want to turn it into new york in the 90s, IFM sees right through that and they deny your shit from the get go, GGs to them. LCN isn't a formidable power in shit lol you're just an LCN fanboy, the mob was ignored before the RICO era, they got obliterated during that era when the alphabet boys stepped in only to be ignored again because of terror, nobody is or will ever outsmart the US when it comes to taxes, you don't pay enough taxes when you're a criminal because you can't tax dirty money and if you're making as much as you want us to believe the LCN does they'd already be locked up. If you knew the characters I had in MCF or Conti you'd realize that this isn't about power or jealousy you're missing just my point, you'd pay to have any of the characters I had in either faction. It's funny you say that because certain aspects of the Conti - MCF wars/conflicts were more unrealistic than gang bangers rolling around 4 deep shooting shit up. It's a game where you expect people to do dumb shit, especially in the heat of the moment, if they die they get to hit a respawn button or PayPal to buy an NC but I don't think the unwillingness to accept LCN as a concept relates to the point you're trying to make. The point is for the average roleplayer, an LCN faction is hard to roleplay around, it fucks with the underworld ecosystem of the server, more than a random shoot-out in Davis or whatever example that was used here to justify LCN as a concept. You can work around random shootouts in Davis, they're gangs, they fight. You can't work around a faction with no prison influence collecting taxes from other factions because they sell guns or drugs, it's not realistic, yet it can be seen as IC and nothing can be done because it was developed IC, this is just one example, I can go though hundreds. The only reason it fucks with the ecosystem of the server is because of people not wanting to be mickey mouse clubhouse, Conti and MCF wouldn't have been as big as they were without the power they had, that's a fact, all the other examples we've seen of LCN without that power has died within 1/2 months. To your last point, any concept like this should also be disbanded, fuck them they deserve the same treatment, but how does allowing a dead concept help with this issue, it'd just make a bad situation worse. to add, I have no ill will against Conti or mcf, I'm cool with key roleplayers from both sides and most of them were good roleplayers, they would have just been better with modernized concepts.

Half of these things are limited because there is no avenue to do it, people sell guns and drugs because there is script support which leads to more interaction with actual human beings, half of the shit you mentioned would have to be mostly passive. You missed my point though, my point is you can get past all the dumb shit that people do because there is a realistic backing to their factions, basic backing that allows the faction to co-exist with other factions, with LCN and certain aspects of Russian/European based RP it just feels like you're forcing it down people's throats.

without any modern examples the only type of roleplay you're gonna get is characters based on old LCN stereotypes with one or two decent characters who would have been better off roleplaying something else. There is no positive aspect to having an LCN faction in the game other than pleasing the two or three people who want it to be a thing, you want to do white collar crime? Go make a AP crew and run that under them, other than that how does an LCN faction positively affect the criminal underworld in GTA W?
