  2. Officer-Involved-Shooting - 25/FEB/2022 - Jamestown Street At approximately 12:18 AM, a disruptive, large group began traveling from Brogue Avenue down to Jamestown Street on foot. Units from the Los Santos Police Department and Los Santos County Sheriff's Department were notified of this large group traveling on foot and they subsequently traveled to the Rancho area in order to provide a visual police presence to deter crime. Once the group had passed the train tracks on Roy Lowenstein Boulevard, they began running towards Jamestown Street. Units began to activate their Emergency Lighting System to intervene with a potential attack as they ran over the road towards the complex before the group began opening fire at officers and members of the public in the Jamestown area. Officers from both the Los Santos Police Department and Los Santos County Sheriff's Department returned fire at the shooters, subsequently leading to a Police Officer from the Los Santos Police Department being struck by gunfire.Public Communications Division Media Relations Section

Los Santos Police Department to introduce 'Pre-Academy' to LEO Recruitment Process With an upcoming recruitment drive seeking the next generation of Law Enforcement Officers for the Los Santos Police Department, we are proud to reveal that a 'pre-academy' process will officially become part of the recruitment procedure for aspiring police officers of Los Santos. The pre-academy will act as a pipeline for all candidates, before arriving at the Los Santos Police Academy for complete training and examination.The Los Santos Police Department's pre-academy will test all applicants' mental fortitude and physical ability, featuring rigorous and unforgiving tests in either arena. Applicants should, as a result, lend the upcoming recruitment drive a few thoughts more before deciding to join the department. However, those who show exemplary results in this new process will shine through - and we look forward to seeing those faces develop into our next generation of Law Enforcement Officers.The pre-academy will consist of several sessions, expected to be hosted over a 1 week (7 day) period.   5. Emergency services respond to a large-scale structure fire Los Santos: LSPD Officers responded to reports of a structure fire. On Wednesday, February 09, 2022, at approximately 07:39 p.m., units from the Los Santos Police Department; Los Santos Fire Department, and Los Santos County Sheriff's Department responded to an emergency call regarding a series of loud noises in the Vespucci Boulevard area. An immediate investigation discovered that an unknown cause led to a structure fire breaking out in a residential building on Pillbox Hill. The Los Santos Fire Department immediately began to extinguish the fire, whilst law-enforcement agencies attended the outer perimeter. The wildfire was successfully fended off thanks to the combined efforts of Los Santos' jurisdictions setting up appropriate precautions and perimeters in surrounding residential and commercial areas in order to allow the Fire Department to safely work on putting the fire out. Two residents of the building were successfully evacuated from the premises and handed to the care of present paramedics. Relevant jurisdictions will continue to monitor the situation closely, and advise anyone with any information that may assist in aiding the ongoing investigation to get in contact with the State Fire Marshal's Office. Gas Explosion at Vespucci Beach Los Santos: LSPD Officers responded to a threat of a gas explosion.On Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 6:16 p.m., LSPD Officers responded to a call for service regarding a reported threat of a gas explosion at Vitus Street in Vespucci Beach. A threatening call had been made prior to the response, informing local authorities to evacuate Vitus Street Complex Apartment 17. The caller stated that they had a lighter prepared next to a stove with the gas turned on, threatening to blow the complex up.A preliminary investigation showed that the aforementioned threats were based on truthful information. A 25-year-old resident of Los Santos, Xavier Perera, had barricaded themselves in an apartment with the gas turned on, flooding the apartment. Officers assigned to the Crisis Negotiations Team attempted to reason with Perera, unfortunately, the attempts were unsuccessful. The apartment blew up at one point during the negotiations, causing a large-scale structure fire, which was subsequently extinguished by the Los Santos Fire Department. The scene was taken over by the State Fire Marshal's Office for investigation.The Department advises citizens to reach out to the State Fire Marshal's Office for further information in case of any inquiries.Public Communications Division Media Relations Section

January 2022 Academy - Graduation Vespucci Headquarters: Los Santos Police Department welcomes a total of seventeen graduates following completion of this month's academy.On Friday, January 14, 2022, a graduation ceremony was held at Vespucci Headquarters. The Recruitment and Employment Division (RED) conducted its first academy this year putting candidates through the renowned police academy ensuring that Los Santos is provided with well-trained and knowledgeable law enforcement officers. A total of forty-six applicants applied for the post, with seventeen completing their police training.RED's Officer-in-Charge Dean Sherman commented: "I believe these new officers have great potential and will not fail this city in their duty. They have proved themselves through an extensive training course."The Los Santos Police Department will once again be recruiting aspirant law-enforcement officers on February 01, 2022.   9. Officer-Involved-Shooting - 28/DEC/2021 - Little Seoul The following publication is a critical incident community briefing. Intended to provide you with information about an Officer-Involved-Shooting that occurred in Little Seoul, on Ginger Street, in the city of Los Santos, at approximately 09:00 a.m., on December 28, 2021. The Department will provide you with relevant information about the incident, so you can have a better understanding of what occurred, based on what we know right now.The LSPD conducts very thorough use of force investigations, which typically require investigators to interview multiple witnesses, view numerous hours of video footage, and analyze a significant amount of forensic evidence. We are still at the very early stages of this investigation which can often take up to a year to complete and our understanding of the incident may change as this additional evidence is collected, analyzed, and reviewed.We also do not draw any conclusions about whether the officers acted consistent with our policies in the law until all the facts are known and the investigation is complete. On the 28th of December 2021, at approximately 09:00 a.m., was an LSPD unit assigned to Mission Row Patrol Division involved in an officer-involved shooting.Whilst conducting routine patrol within the Little Seoul area on Vespucci Boulevard and Decker Street, a patrolling officer observed a rental blue Maxwell Abso driving at a high rate of speed, in the incorrect lane of travel. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle and conduct a traffic stop, however, the Blue Abso failed to stop which initiated a vehicle pursuit. LSPD patrol vehicles are equipped with Digital In-Car Video System (DICVS) that is utilized to enhance officer safety, document events, and provide visual as well as audio data for use in investigation and prosecution. Here is the video footage retrieved from the beginning of the incident. The vehicle pursuit came to a stop a few moments after the pursuit was initiated. The suspect stepped out of the vehicle in order to flee on foot. Mid-pursuit they withdrew a firearm, shooting in the direction of the pursuing officer, striking them once. The pursuing officer returned fire, resulting in an officer-involved shooting.The suspect and their firearm were secured by responding units. The firearm was found out to be a ghost gun. Ghost guns are unserialized and untraceable firearms that can be bought online and assembled at home. They are often sold through "ghost gun kits," which include all of the parts and often the equipment necessary to build these weapons at home. These kits are widely available and can be purchased by anyone, including prohibited purchasers, domestic abusers, and gun traffickers — without a background check.The Los Santos Fire Department responded to the incident to provide medical care to both the suspect and the wounded officer. The suspect was transported to Pillbox Hill Medical Center to receive treatment however was later pronounced deceased. The individual has been identified as a Los Santos resident, their identity will remain withheld until the next of kin has been notified. The involved officer was also treated for gunshot wounds pertaining to the incident. They are currently stable at Pillbox Hill Medical Center.Over the next few months, a thorough investigation of the incident will take place in close cooperation with the District Attorney's office. Fatal Officer Involved Shooting Los Santos: LSPD Officers assigned to Mission Row Patrol Division got involved in a shootout.On Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at approximately 10:00 p.m., LSPD Officers assigned to Mission Row Patrol Division were conducting field duties at Grove Street in Davis by providing scene security when they witnessed a shootout going on in their nearby area. An officer on-scene alerted nearby units initiating an immediate response.During the incident, officers began to return fire on several shooters leading to their retreat inside a compound where they continued to engage civilians and LSPD officers. The initiating unit was subsequently wounded in an attempt to neutralize the active threat as well as guide responding officers towards the incident. The result was an officer-involved shooting.It fills our Department with the deepest sorrow that an officer was declared deceased by on-scene medical responders. The next of kin have been informed and Los Santos Police Department is supporting family and friends during this tragic circumstance.Over the next several months the Los Santos Police Department will conduct a thorough investigation of the officer-involved incident and the Force Investigation Section will investigate in close coordination with District Attorney's Office. Grove Street: Fatal Officer Involved Shooting Los Santos: In the early hours of Thursday, December 09, 2021, at around 03:00 a.m., officers assigned to Mission Row Patrol Division initiated a pursuit on a dirt bike regarding the discharge of a firearm. The pursuit initially started within the Jamestown region of Los Santos with a multitude of resources including an air-ship and LSPD Metropolitan Division responding to the backup request.During the pursuit, the individual dismounted from the motorcycle and lead officers on a foot pursuit into Davis. The individual led officers onto Grove Street when he brandished a handgun and began firing subsequently injuring the initial unit that gave chase resulting in an officer-involved shooting. The individual continued on foot with further resources from LSPD following the suspect. The individual again turned and discharged the firearm towards the officers. This resulted in a further two wounded officers. The airship guided resources towards the fleeing suspect where again the individual discharged the firearm and injured a fourth officer before being struck by returned fire from LSPD officers.Los Santos Fire Department was immediately alerted of the multiple casualties to which a number of resources were deployed to the scene. The suspect was declared deceased on scene by Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians. Investigators secured the firearm from the individual and submitted it into evidence for further analysis. The suspect was later identified as a resident of Los Santos, and his identity will not be revealed until the next of kin has been informed.A total of four LSPD Officers assigned to Mission Row Patrol Division were injured as a direct result of the suspect discharging his firearm towards them. Three Officers were stabilized by Los Santos Fire Department and were transferred to Pillbox Hill Medical Centre for further treatment.Unfortunately, an officer was declared deceased by on-scene medical responders. The next of kin have been informed and Los Santos Police Department is supporting family and friends during this tragic circumstance.We regret to announce the death of Los Santos Police Officer Michael Woodrowe. Intended to provide you with information about an Officer-Involved-Shooting that occurred in Burton, on Dorset Place, in the city of Los Santos, at approximately 12:00 a.m., on Friday, December 03, 2021. The Department will provide you with relevant information about the incident, so you can have a better understanding of what occurred, based on what we know right now.The LSPD conducts very thorough use of force investigations, which typically require investigators to interview multiple witnesses, view numerous hours of video footage, and analyze a significant amount of forensic evidence. We are still at the very early stages of this investigation which can often take up to a year to complete and our understanding of the incident may change as this additional evidence is collected, analyzed, and reviewed.We also do not draw any conclusions about whether the officers acted consistent with our policies in the law until all the facts are known and the investigation is complete. On the 3rd of December 2021 at approximately 12:00 a.m., a traffic unit assigned to Los Santos Police Departments (LSPD), Traffic division conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle following a traffic violation. It is understood that the driver and passenger became non-compliant with the officer's request. A radio transmission was placed shortly afterward by the unit. "2T18, let me get an additional up here, they're being non-compliant." Additional units responded from Los Santos Police Departments Mission Row Patrol Division.The suspects' vehicle sped away failing to stop resulting in the initiation of a vehicle pursuit. The pursuit travelled through multiple areas within the City of Los Santos and involved a co-joint response from both Los Santos Police Department and Los Santos County Sheriffs Department. The vehicle came to a stop in the Burton area, on Dorset avenue when two individuals exited the vehicle wielding long-barrelled firearms and began to fire, resulting in an officer-involved shooting.LSPD patrol vehicles are equipped with Digital In-Car Video System (DICVS) and is utilized to enhance officer safety, document events, and provide visual as well as audio data for use in investigation and prosecution. Here is the video footage retrieved from the incident.DICVSThe incident resulted in an officer being struck multiple times by gunfire, as well as both suspects also received injuries in response to firing upon peace officers. The suspects were later identified as residents of Los Santos, identities will not be revealed until this investigation is concluded and next of kin have been informed. The duo were both tended to by Los Santos Fire Department but were both subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene. Both firearms were retrieved by investigators at the scene. Los Santos Fire Department also tended to an officer that sustained injuries during the incident who was also pronounced deceased at the scene.
