  1. Why doesn't the server offer up a way to donate to developers to encourage more frequent updates? it makes sense i think alot of people would donate.
  2. no i feel this game is grindy enough, if you have a social life, a hobby, a job, a partner, some are lucky to get 2-3 hours a day on this game, some even less. Grinding is already a huge set back of the game when comes to time, not everyone has 12h a day to play.
  3. I remember a while ago there was a updated penal code and it was in a testing for a while is that still a thing i cant seem to find anything on the laws.
  4. Well then the police should set up their own speeding check points more efficiently then, I think a much better alternative then speed cameras, that are probably going to be the alternative if the issue isn't fixed in general. Let the police do the work manually works for me.
  5. This is a real life thing like, police have it in real life, speed traps or speed vans, just portable units. They dont need to be manned, but they're only deployed for a period of time not permanent, and at different locations. You dont want automatic tickets, don't register your car?
  6. Short description: There is currently a big thread up about RP driving on the server, I've come up with a few ideas to possibly reduce the amount of speeding and non RP driving in a realistic fashion, I would like to put forward some ideas in this thread. They're open to admin adjustments and fine tuning in regard they're just ideas and open to discussion. Detailed description: (1.) /vpark & /vget adjustments. If a player owns insurance on their vehicle, they're entitled to a limited number of /vpark an hour that will fix their vehicle for free "(example 1 per 3h hours, or 1 per 1hour since the current system is infinite currently or whatever the admin team sees fit.)" if they player doesn't own insurance, they must pay for their own repairs. While still compensating for small glitches and miss clicks that happen IG that would otherwise force you fix your car like (Dysnc, Lag, Crashes, Miss clicks etc). It gives players more reason to: 1. Buy insurance that how it would work IRL (adds realism) 2. Drive more carefully or be forced to pay for repairs. 3. Bring more RP to garages, and force players to maintain their cars. 4. Let PD enforce keeping your car maintained/ road legal. (2.) /vspeedcamera for police A designated big vehicle for the police to be setup as a mobile speed camera that will automatically fine the owners of registered vehicles speeding over the limit, if your car is unregistered you don't get fined, with tiers of fines for speeding. These aren't permanent, they must be set up for a period of time by the traffic division, they will despawn after "(3hours)". Limit to 3-4 of these per faction, so maybe 8 in total. This should be carried out by designated traffic division within the PD & SD just like it would be in real life, nothing like seeing a speed van on your local motorway, and should be monitored and placed in needed areas. It increases realism and immersion on the server, while giving PD & SD another activity to preform, and traffic core can become more useful part of the PD & SD. (I'm not entirely sure if these divisions exist, but Im sure that's something the PD & SD can figure out) Example 5-15mph over speed limit - $2,500 15mph or more over speed limit - $5,000 It gives players more reason to: 1. Drive without registering your vehicle in order to continue to speed undetected, which will make you viable for jail time if caught by police. (Making it more risky.) 2. More reason to slow down, or be forced to pay fines or get arrested for driving without a registration if caught. 3. Give players more reason to not register their cars in order to avoid being caught, but with higher risk. 4. Give the PD & SD, more RP opportunities an actually tackle the "speeding" problem ICLY. 5. More realism for illegal factions with unregistered vehicles to commit crimes while increasing risk and RP and general immersion as a result. (3.) Designated speed bumps/ramps - setup by Government Just like in real life, the government should conduct research, invest and build speed bumps/ramps in highly populated areas. These should be permanently, fixed into the server after the government conducts research into where they should be placed for most efficiency, these should be limited to a couple to not spammed completely around every road to stop speeding. These would help curb the number of people speeding as hitting one of these at high speed should be role played just like in real life, most likely disabling your vehicle. These should be placed in some of the areas Hennings posted in his thread about. (full credits to him for the image) It gives players more reason to: 1. Slow down to avoid hitting the speed ramps at high speeds so to not damage the car. 2. Gives the Gov more RP in aspect of managing the citizens needs like and a way to curb it in a realistic way. (excessive speeding) 3. Gives construction companies, chance to create and RP road works and carry out work for the government creating tons of RP and diversion within the city during construction. 4. Increases immersion within the server, makes the server feel alive and with all the mentioned points above. (4.OPTIONAL) Car Durability System Im no expert, at this stuff so I haven't come up with one but it would be simple durability script for vehicles that forces players to maintain them or else suffer minor penalties like car failing to start, etc or car random chance to stall etc if not properly maintained making more players more cautious to drive RPLY or suffer paying for the damages, would again bring more RP to garages and i think reduce speeding in general. It gives players more reason to: 1. Again to slow down in order to keep the condition of the vehicle and so they keep their value. 2. Bring more roleplay to garages and mechanics. 3. More need for tow trucks to tow away poorly maintained vehicles that wont start. Commands to add: Change, /vpark & /vget based on insurance, /vspeedcamera for PD & SD. Items to add: Add scripted speed bumps/ramps. How would your suggestion improve the server? I think this would increase the amount of roleplay around speeding on the server, make it more severe and punishable in IC way, making it more risky. I think in general increase the immersion and realism of the server. No need for OOC rules to force players to drive more RP. Additional information: All of my suggestion is liable to tweaking by the admin team to a reasonable level, its is a general suggestion and in no way the ultimate solution to the problem but more a middle ground between enforcing RP driving OOCly and a opportunity to handle the issue icly while bringing lots of roleplay.
  7. People hold onto every cent like its their last unfortunately, and only think about income, profits and how much your making off them. I have a part in running a business here on the server and people are convinced I'm rich or making some insane kind of money the reality is that I'm making a very very small net margin but im trying to bring more interesting roleplay to the server something that wasn't here before and now there is. Had I just played more when the mining job was great and the server had 70/500 players before the migration, I'd have mega millions now and I wouldn't have this issue but because I only cared about roleplay I didn't see it as an attractive option.
  8. Let's just say the physics of this game are bullshit as well cars don't behave like real cars at all these cars aren't heavy like real cars, you can ramp off the tiny bump on the road easily because your car is virtually weightless, your always asked to roleplay crashes and as long as those are done then I see it as an IC issue, if you hit a person going 110mph your car would be in bits and you should have to suffer the crash and impact that would have along with any jail sentence you might have, take away players licenses and force them to always drive without a license and suffer being jailed for driving without papers for repeat offenders, If they failed to roleplay hitting a person then they should be reported too. Also the car dysnc and general lag is very bad, I seen a cop car drive down the road, hit a parked car at the side of the street, get out and try and ticket the car. He said on his screen the car was in the middle of the street, all the people standing right outside the store seen the cop hit the parked car and move across into the middle of the street. Everything on the server is an IC issue and I see police use this way too often because of the convenience of it, I had my friend who lag slammed a cop convoy and he said that obviously he sped past them but never hit them, was forced to roleplay the pursuit then as an IC issue (he got away because he drives well but had he been caught it would of been IC ). If we had 1000/1000 players wed be forced to drive rply due to actual traffic. I wouldn't be against Car AI if it allows the good drivers, to continue speeding if done in realistic fashon and to roleplay. This would actually ruin street racing roleplay because it would be an ooc barrier for those who do roleplay everything properly.
  9. Not even information that is complied in a neat, straight forward and easy to find manner, not much information about what jobs you can get or what they pay and unemployment center is kinda of a joke that tells you absolutely nothing. Its all clunky shaded in mystery, if i didn't come here I wouldn't even have known, and I've looked into this stuff a decent bit. Probably back of the hand knowledge for you but for someone with 65h on the server and 30 of those being over 2 years ago when the script was much different and much less players, much less so.
  10. When I have my own garage, I will be able to say alright. I've 3 hours to roleplay, let me open my business do some roleplay and if i make money I make money, will be focusing on the rp of it with my friends, I wont care because I'm not grinding to get a garage I have it, i own what i want and then im doing what I like, something that can get me steady progress something to call my own. If I have an hour of roleplay i wont, ill go roleplay doing something else visit a bar or something and then hopefully limit my exposure and if i run into a player and need to go ill state it and it wont effect anyone 99% of the time. Its better to me sitting inside a store and have almost nobody come in 95% of the time and me rply wiping the counter, to have one guy come in buy 1 thing and leave 2 minutes after. Like in your head the shop keeper which is basically afk farming, is a better alternative to all of this, sounds good my guy but i think it just doesn't work like youd so much like. I actually get way more interaction at fishing spots by actually rping with people or encouraging the rp, as I don't care if I'm missing hokis or even a snapper, but i can clearly tell that they do and thats why their rp is limited.
  11. I think your opinion is very far from reality, the reality of life is, we all have limited time to play. Sometimes I had a bad or long day at work as can any other player on this server, and ive an hour or two to hop on. I've a simply dream to have a garage, and with the pressure of my life I might not want to roleplay every little /me for somebody, I want to save up my cash so In a weeks time I can roleplay in that garage on my own terms not being worried about cash with my own flow around my own work schedule , but to get there I prefer the fishing job as its the easiest least intensive job and if my parents call me to help them out I can hop right off and not ruin someones roleplay. Its not my fault other fishing people dont want to roleplay or roleplay bare minimum, etc, /me nods, /me laughs, /me smiles, etc etc. As they want to just get their 1.2k and leave, ill try chat icly about catching Hokis, and when the weather changes I react to it but im met with blank stares and replies. I would icly say 'oh your a quiet one' get a reply that consists of 'Yeah' /me chuckles with a friendly nod. Why because their run is gonna be interupted or they will will their snapper gone by not pressing /cf fast enough cos they were replying to a /me or me saying anything and next time they get a Hoki. Id say your sitting there with a nice fat cash balance so im sure you dont mind, try saying that with 30k in your pocket when trying to rp a business man or anything in this scenario. You have a very inconsiderate way about your attitude not considering other players life situations and that not everybody has time to roleplay everything to absolute perfection all day everyday but only maybe 5/7 days that they log on and that on those 2/7 days they want to just make some money for their RP during the week.
  12. I could go about it a million and two ways for sure, any character with any ambition could do more or other stuff, but in the long run the most consistent way of income for me is through fishing as I can't always be active during peek hours. I work long hours outside of the server im tired after a long week + personal life not everybody has it as cosy, and I would say I'm really committed to playing here because I've interest and a few friends playing with me so thats why I even crank in 5 hours a day and that is alot. Sometimes after a long week of working all I would like to do is earn some money so I get a little closer to that thing I want because its a game meant to be fun, throw my headphones in and do an hour or two or three of whatever is gonna get me there and not have do extensive roleplay because im tired IRL but if it comes my way sure why the hell not its always fun to rp atm every detour you take will only equal to more of the same job in the long run so you might aswell not interact with anyone as its only leads to more mindless grinding, specially if im gonna make decent money only if the server is at peak. Most people at fishing dont interact because they know it will only slow them down and I constantly see people pulling up with their 300k + cars and still fishing XD
  13. I only hear the players going on about how easy it is to have full spec cars and what not and have the best stuff, I'm hundreds of hours away from that, I don't mind I'm gonna keep my grind up very happy to be at it if thats what the server is gonna allow me to do, and the only thing its gonna provide me with. I also want to have fun on the server, and buying a half decent car and driving around is my way of having some fun. Sorry if thats not roleplay, I get about 5 hours on the server a day, spending 75% of it on grinding atm simply because thats my way to earn money for what I actually want to roleplay, spend the rest 25% of my time on some decent rp with my car and other people with their cars. I tried the delivery job and actually ended up losing money, I went and rented a van, got 5 crates and by the time I drove to the destination 3 guys with their bensons zoomed past me and completed the order before I could deliver and it says 'no business need these crates' so I had to abandon the car and the crates that I spent 700 dollars on. I'll get there one fishing run at time, will find better ways to earn money and once I build up capital I'm sure ill get rolling but in general stuck at the fishing spot 75% of my time xD
  14. I want to roleplay a mechanic would love to have a garage of some sorts, maybe a chop shop promote car theft roleplay. So after 40 hours of gameplay I picked out a vehicle, for 130k, spent extra money upgrading, insurance etc,, phone is about 3k, couple of outfits, few entry fees to shops/haircuts/ bars an what not glitchy menu resets everything after spending money 200k + some gone. Now I would like a tow truck, thats like 50k from a dealership no upgrades or nothing. So thats 10 hours of fishing + another 5-10 so Ive some cash for basic needs, then what save up about 300-500k for a garage? Im happy to do all these jobs, its all there is and I will continue zombie grinding so in a few weeks I can get to my roleplay ?
  15. Wasn't even aware because thats not stated anywhere, most people ive asked directed me to the fishing job. Yet the money is the same, except I've to stand in a shop. I try to make the most of the fishing job, by chatting people and roleplaying social interactions and not have 5 people stand there afk fish that sucks honestly but i understand why they do it, its simply the only way to earn some money if your half busy in your life, its actually much better when people wonna talk and are excited about doing something. Alot of people just want to grind for an hour or two while listening to music and not having to RP unless it comes to it, but instead of having to do it for x50h we should make it maybe x25h would be ideal, I felt mining was good for that opened a window for loads of roleplay with good income, so you only ever had to spend an hour or two a day on mining and then you were good to do what you liked? You wanted a van for your character, you didn't have to do 12-20h of fishing or standing in a shop to get a van, just so it makes sense for your character. I spent my 200k on a car with insurance, all upgrades and registration. This car is worth waaay less if I try and sell it, and im back to having no income, with my character buying their next car or small property being either 50h of store work or 50 hours of fishing the choice is mine but its still the same.
  16. I'm a new enough player now, but I joined the server when mining ores was a job 2018 on before migration. (70/500 players) I left and decided to come back when things picked up and back then,it was great income with a good amount of risk involved (you could easily get robbed, needed a truck, needed a license, you could get robbed). You could grind about 20-30k an hour and that would suffice my income needs for basic roleplay I wasn't rich but i got myself a mule and 100k and i was happy. Now im miserable grinding the fishing job for 5k an hour (at best) and doing bare minimum rp because time is money ?. I'm interested in doing some illegal faction roleplay, but Im dirt poor, cant afford anything. Everyday I spend about 5-6 hours to grind up 25-30k a day and that is like non stop 5 hours of grinding and ive been at it for days to buy one car that I would like to use in my roleplay. Now im dirt poor again just gained 1 vehicle I can use, back to spending next 2-5 weeks grinding fishing job with my friends so we can even begin to pool some money together. Only to accidentally lose that 11k because I accidentally purchased a extra turbo in the car menu, thats 2 whole hours of RP I could be doing. But nah ive to grind and /cf and /sellfish i wonna blow my brains out. Strong support from someone whos been fishing for last 7 days to save 90k, cos who wants to robot farm for 4h a day just for basic roleplay. A variety of strong jobs for illegal RP with good basic income.
