[Theory of Roleplay] Why Are News Factions So Difficult?

Recommended Posts

Normally every job has an income or a salary if you may. Which is why I was against the removal of mining for example, as that allowed for roleplaying such jobs using ooc financial injections or contributions. Cause honestly such organizations and jobs created by roleplayers need them. Otherwise pretty much as others said, its mostly about cops and robbers, bars and mechanic garages. Nothing else. I should be roleplaying a damn porn actress or model, but how and why when I get nothing for it. People work cause they are paid. But is a bartender of a bar that has no entry fee paid? Is a news reporter paid? No they roleplay it cause they want to, but they cannot build their character on that basis simply because they cannot generate the flow necessary to keep it running. And so such rivers go dry over time. Bars have entrance fees so their owners can pay their stuff, but things like news are for free, thus generating zero flow. Of course there is a work around. Much like some faction do, news channels could receive weekly revenues which would be used for managing, like salaries etc etc.

Logically thinking news should be funded by huge amount of ads filling up the left side of your screen, but apparently that logic didn't reach all the staff teams and structures. @HaveADream Might need to post a suggestion to get this implemented.

Weazel was funded by that income until recently, I'd rather purpose that this money be split between the active news organisations with higher activity meaning more profit, adjusted weekly.
