SPECIAL COUNSEL APPOINTED

On Sunday January 24th, 2021, Attorney General Charles Lockhart, in conjunction with Lieutenant Governor Francis Holland, officially appointed Mr. Norman Graves as a special counsel, under the Office of the Special Counsel.

Mr. Norman Graves began his career as a paralegal in the San Fierro County District Attorney’s Office, having been recruited directly from the master’s program at the University of San Fierro Law School. Mr. Graves was noted by his employers for his observant and methodical nature, as well as his passion for the law. As an Assistant District Attorney in the same office, Mr. Graves notably prosecuted two high-profile cases: the first relating to embezzlement in the San Fierro City Council, and the second relating to criminal negligence in San Fierro Memorial Hospital. The success of both of these cases and his subsequent experience led the Attorney General and Lieutenant Governor to appoint him as a special counsel.

When asked about Mayor Oswald Halford and the greater theme of corruption, Mr. Graves added the following statement:

Quote

We owe the people we govern integrity – If you want a cleaner house, stop tracking in mud from the doorstep. The Halford situation has set a dirty image – I’m here to help clean that up.

A long-standing lobbyist in San Andreas, Secretary Renwick possesses extensive experience and knowledge in the field of labor law and thus will no doubt boost the effectiveness and efficiency of the department, harboring a significant change that will benefit the state.

Mrs. Renwick started her career in Los Santos as a member of the State of San Andreas Bureau of Labor Standards, where she then started a career in the private sector lobbying for change within the labor industry. On January 16th, 2021, at Diane's public confirmation hearing, she stated that the Department of Labor's mission is to "foster, promote and develop the welfare of wage earners, job seekers and retirees of the State."

The opening of the conference had Diane sworn in by Senator Ernst. Shortly after started with her opening statement, in which she thanked her family for their support and recognised the support from both Governor Brandt and Lieutenant Governor Holland. She went on to say:

"I see many benefits of us partnering with businesses to encourage economic growth. One of my largest initiatives I plan to take on is to revamp and rethink all of our operations at the Port of Los Santos."

Shortly after, the Senators posed numerous questions in which Mrs Renwick was asked to clarify her intentions of certain aspects of the labor force, including but not limited to minimum wage, working hour restrictions and a union body.
