District Councillor Candidates Confirmed

The Office of the City Clerk has confirmed the finalised list of candidates taking place in the upcoming District Council elections in an exclusive, late-night update to LSNN. 

 

Both Democratic and Republican candidates have been hitting the campaign trails hard over the past few weeks, but a final list of candidates has only just been confirmed this evening. See below:

 

WESTERN DISTRICT: Tanya Sun (D), Joshua Shepherd (R)

NORTHERN DISTRICT: Manjot Singh (D), Jonathan Spencer (R)

CENTRAL DISTRICT: Richard Orosco (D), Alex Flynn (R)

EASTERN DISTRICT: George Valencia (D), Thomas Busch (R)

SOUTHERN DISTRICT: Wallace Abbasi (D), Jose Ortiz (R)

BLAINE DISTRICT: Badar Khan (D), Joseph Hoffman (R)

 

Most interestingly, there are no independent candidates in the running whatsoever for these roles: all are members of either the Democratic or Republican parties. No more individuals can register to be part of the polls - this is the final list. 

 

Polling stations will open up in each district at 6am on the 25th of September 2020, and will close at 6pm on the 27th of September 2020. During this time, residents of each local area will have the chance to choose who will represent them as District Councillor. 

 

LSNN has been conducting exclusive interviews with these candidates over the past few days, having attended many of the events organised by the two main political parties. As such, more information regarding each candidate, their policies and their overall popularity rating will follow in upcoming articles.
