  1. this is usually why "locals" get harassed by the factions they live next to lol, developing a holier than thou attitude and disrespecting any illegal roleplayer they come across because they've lived in the area for a while and believe they have some innate right to protection. as a legal roleplayer ive seen it time and time again... people getting beaten up because theyre inept at handling any form of confrontation. yes, you may have lived in sandy shores or paleto bay for 2 years on your civilian character... and yes, it is stupid that you have to get pressed by flavor of the month gangs who act like you're an outsider when you have been around longer than they have... but if you broaden your horizons and show some respect instead of pawning criminals off as stinky roleplayers they might just leave you alone/understand you're a local without you having to tell them with sarcastic comments this is also part of a much larger problem: people replicating IRL gangs/groups and using their real life history to stake their claim on an area which has conflicting history ingame. sorry but no your peckerwood gang hasnt been here since the 90s brother u only started roleplaying here 2 weeks ago and there were 3 mexican gangs and a motorcycle club here before u (who also say they have had control of this town from the 90s)
  2. no i think its something u just have to suck up because its that much of an improvement to the new player experience a compromise would be to allow a free car on only one character
  3. if everyone agrees to void car accidents then nobody will respect driving realistically because they can always avoid the consequences
  4. i think its a bit disingenuous to pin gtaw:lc dying on that. more so happened because it was laggy as fuck FPS wise, was touted as being a hardcore illegal roleplay utopia and was ran with completely different administrating methods civilians generally do show a ridiculous lack of situational awareness though - either intentionally or unintentionally... and because of that i dont think implementing more restrictions on illegal roleplayers is the way to go. instead start severely punishing bad apples and show the server shitty p2w players who revolve their rp around provoking conflicts through robberies wont be tolerated there arent any server alternatives lol if u start dishing out month long bans to the characters who only log into the game to mug or harass people then that behavior will soon stop
  5. this server has had a fat update like every 4 days for 5 years straight lol u guys dont know what greed is this server could be milked for x20 more ur lucky to have nervous
  6. what if they were put onto a global list and they had to message nearby factions if they were going to roleplay in the area... along with that they could have to report to an administrator every week to make sure theyre not breaking more rules
  7. because the transition from gta5 modding to rdr2 modding was pretty seamless. it took less than a year for multiplayer clients to be playable after the pc release, meaning there was a lot of cross compatibility between those two games leading to accelerated development yes its technically speculation that gta 6 will be a reskin of rdr2 with some additional features, but i don't think it will be such an unimaginable leap in system architecture that people have to reverse engineer the game from scratch lol my estimation would be that there's a playable (not feature rich) multiplayer client within 12-18 months of pc release.
  8. yes but it it had no MP presence at all lol, and very little modding interest altogether. i think gta 5 -> rdr2 is a much better comparison than gta 4 -> gta 5
  9. 3-5 years? nah lol it took gta 5 a while because it was a completely new engine (yes gta 4 was rage too but it had very little modding interest). rdr2 on the other hand, was reverse engineered to a high degree within a year of its PC release... and you had functioning MP clients pretty much instantly because a lot of the leg work was already done. gta 6 is just an offshoot of rdr2 (and gta 5) so a lot of the systems are shared not to mention that rp has only recently blew up into the mainstream with fivem, meaning there's significant financial incentive for work to be quick unlike 2013 where it was passion projects only
  10. how are you meant to join the modding team when they dont reply to anyone for months lol
  11. oh damn fair enough i didnt know this existed ty
  12. as long as bussy remains unbanned i dont care
  13. this is the crux of it, but here are a few more issues: 1. there's not much incentive to join the modding team despite how important it is for the server. offer world points or something to people who contribute a lot idk it seems there are a lot of dead profiles in that team who dont really do anything 2. theres not many people who actually know how to mod in the modding team (at least in the 3d sense), their knowledge is based more around editing ymts, editing animations or editing textures 3. the modding team is a volunteer position, meaning once ur in it is a help out where u want to type deal so people tend to work on the shit they want added themselves 4. the people in the team who can mod have to pickup a ridiculous amount of slack leading to burnout meaning you can't get in touch with them its all just very inefficient sadly i think here's what you do: create a new forum category similar to suggestions and in said category have a thread outlining SPECIFIC mod requirements, from file size, to vert count, to texture size and naming. you then create a bounty system where players or modders can submit wanted mods which meet the established requirements. in order to preserve workflow efficiency you would have them post the mods independently and in a specific format, with screenshots containing mesh information from OpenIV. if the mod gets accepted and implemented, the player gets world points or panda points
  14. not sure if anyone has mentioned it but there's a lot of demographic gatekeeping when it comes to black factions. shit is understandable as there's a lot of culture you need to understand to portray a black person realistically but still - if you're white IRL (even worse white + european) you won't even be allowed to rp with a lot of prominent black roleplayers u dont really get ragged on for being a foreigner if u wanna rp a sureno or skinhead
  15. jones > stipe jiri > pereira 294 volk vs islam lets go volks got it in the bag this time
