  1. A lot of people here tend to complain about the racist stereotypes that are being portrayed. The county is flawed on both ends though, some treat Sandy like it’s the deep South both legal and illegal. I agree that it’s taken a deep dive for the worst as of late, I’m also not a fan of the neo-Nazi style almost KKK portrayal I’ve seen, I'm mostly referring to spawned in overtly racist characters that have a pre-developed background to try to justify such behavior. This portrayal is also attributed to the fact that the current prison experience spawns these behaviors automatically, prompting developing ex-con characters to behave this way. Sandy Shores, as of right now, happens to be predominantly illegal and white and showcases exactly that. Doing the littlest research you can find that areas in Southern California that are not LA and Frisco or San Diego, they’re practically overrun by bikers, meth, and bad apples. It’s also been pained as such ICly for as long as the server stood and even in Vanilla GTA 5. The problem stems from the fact that many many times, new faces and city-established characters show up there for a minute at a time and run a muck, and this paints a picture for any of the already-established characters in the area. When you don’t integrate into the organism, you get rejected. I won’t turn a blind eye and say that there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the hostility of some players and I’m all for not gatekeeping certain areas to certain concepts. The problem arises when absolute nobodies march into the scene and act as if they’re supposed to just be given the benefit of the doubt, they have no self-awareness and zero regard for the characters that’ve been around for as long as time. The county being barren has a very simple explanation, more than half of the server population is city-based, so creating role-play out of nothing in a mostly inactive area and keeping it up, attractive, and motivated is difficult. People tend to take a lot more breaks and it shows. This could be a reason why illegal characters are tempted to create a violent environment even if it’s artificial. When you’re portraying something like trailer trash and you have absolutely nobody to mess with, it waters down your portrayal, thus prompting said players to harass anybody who does show up. The city is flooded with naturally occurring conflicts due to the volume of people per neighborhood. In the county, it’s the opposite.
