  1. Someone take Raamis' gun away from him. Great video boys, keep on raising the bar.
  2. Good Morning, I found this gem a little over a year ago and wanted to share it with the community. I'll let the website and wiki do most of the explaining but essentially it's a realistic survival experience with a long way to go in development, but already feature rich. I suggest checking the roadmap out on their main site below to see what is to come. https://www.vintagestory.at/ I specifically play in a community called Vintage Civ which offers a free form multiplayer experience. The goal is to let the players establish cities and cultures in-game and dictate the rules of the server, full scale PVP is allowed with minimal protections (no land claiming, just block re-enforcement). All are welcome to join us or just buy and play the game in single player. https://www.vintageciv.com/ Here is a link to the newly released trailer for the server as well, new iteration starts May 27th! If anyone has questions, feel free to hit me up. I'm pretty knowledgeable on the game.
  3. I can't tell if you're trolling here but, in the United States of America, people own guns. You can literally purchase them from Walmart in most places across the US. To them, owning a gun is a right and they exercise it freely and often. Therefore this entire post makes no sense unless you're purely talking about truck drivers purchasing guns illegally. Which I still disagree with, but I would recommend if you're going to RP a legal truck driving character, you put in the effort to obtain a PF license to purchase guns legally before switching over to the black market to find an illegal firearm.
  4. My apologies DasFroggy, I wasn't sure if I would de-rail things if I got into specific ideas. But yes, if something like lifting the limit was implemented, there would need to be equally or even more harsh consequences for the criminals committing the crimes, that's a given. Things like increased jail time, possible CK scenario's (for both players) or whatever it might be.
  5. Sounds like this is a script issue. Furniture should be purchased using stored bank funds, not on hand cash. I've always been a fan of more hardcore mechanics to help make illegal role-play more serious. This opens up tons of avenues and actually forces both illegal role-players & legal role-players, to think smart. Rules should be used to force realistic role-play. The fact you carry around 100k on your character is hilarious to me because who the fuck carries around 100k on their person? Nobody unless they're committing crime and that's not your fault. You do it because the furniture script requires you to do it. I also imagine this rule exists to protect noob players, my advice, don't play a game that's meant to simulate life if you can't handle the harsh realities that come with it.
  6. It's sad to see so many people responding with the general "let the admins deal with it". A server that runs itself with minimal administrator intervention should be the goal here. While the original poster did a horrible job getting his point across, he / she is correct. The lack of hardcore systems in grand theft auto role-play (this server and past servers, but because let's face it, they're a carbon copy of each other with minor differences) has in my opinion led to the breeding of sub-par role-players who will never change because the server caters to them instead of forcing them out / forcing them to change their take on role-play. Without going into a rant, you make more unforgiving rules (sort of like how PD has introduced serious IC sentences for IC crime) and people will either adjust or quit. Either way, it's a win because from what I've seen in my ten years of role-playing is that the people who cry about it being unfair or it's too hardcore to be CK'd for any reason are the same players who use PKs as a cop out of their IC actions. Make real consequences for players and they will in turn react with real fear. And to touch on the current "CK app" system. It places way to much trust in the ability of the administration team which is far from perfect and the system is easily corruptible with OOC motives / favoritism.

    New Drug System

Short description: In short, this system will create a real flow of drugs within the server that makes the drug trade both profitable and much more realistic to role-play in. Detailed description: https://docs.google.com/document/d/10_VTpoahYGDcHFuN_lT8pvLso6Od_G1HsjGx43g7i8E/edit Commands to add: (I think we would tackle this if the idea was accepted) Items to add: None for now. How would your suggestion improve the server? Refer to the google doc, it summarizes all this. Additional information: Thanks for reading, and I look forward to the communities feedback as this is a very touchy subject and in my opinion there is no perfect fix for the drug system. This is simply what I think the best avenue is.

    Remove nametags

I'm not sure what your last paragraph is supposed to prove. My point is the IC mask at least makes it a role-play element, not an OOC one? And if you think the admin's don't check death logs or we're too lazy to, that's your problem and you're just poorly informed. In fact we do a lot of work, you know trying to fix actual broken systems. And I'm not sure how anybody can say you can recognize people in this game just like in real life, we're three dimensional graphic poly-models in this game lol. While on pen and paper this idea might sound good, the actual application would be a disaster, our avatars or whatever you want to call them already all look hellishly similar to each other because the GTA character creation is quiet poor, it's more about clothing items. Then we get into things like people getting reported because they killed somebody who they thought was someone else, and as an admin we're cross between what's fair and what's realistic. And all this will do is move people from using name-tags to MG, to taking SS's of people for later comparison. And yeah, reporting people via screenshots is an inefficient system, not that it can't be done, but it'd take us much longer to process reports in-game or on the forums. What happens when people start using the surgery place to change facial features and what not?

    Remove nametags

While I think the idea comes from the right place, it's a no from me. Maltese did a good job highlighting some negative details. And it's not that the idea is totally bad, it's definitely got some benefits. But I think the fact it will make it extremely hard for players to report each other, and for admins to get to the bottom of who did what, outweighs the realism factor it could bring. Problem is even with ID numbers, what difference or immersion does that bring over the name-tag? It's still a block of text/numbers over a characters head. I just think this is an unnecessary change. Don't fix, what ain't broken. And for those of you suggesting OOC masks be brought back, that system was literally put in place to allow people to avoid role-play situations. There is zero benefit to them and they make no sense, want to hide your identity? Go put a real mask on.
  13. Sounds like a lot of work for the developers, when the solution is much simpler. Anyway, this thread isn't about removing LSC, I just think it benefits the role-player more. And I wasn't implying that they become a drug dealer, gun dealer or banger. Just the opposite in fact. By giving way to legal means of making money that are equal too or easier than illegal means, it'll promote a healthier balance between the legal and illegal side of role-play.
  14. Or, by removing the LSC there will be an increased demand for mechanic work and more people will see it as a viable business investment. We've all become too accustom to having things immediately and while I agree that's important with certain things, modding your vehicle isn't one of them. You won't die and the game doesn't become broken if you can't instantly pay for 10,000 dollars worth of vehicle mods. Be patient, people would fill the void of untapped business revenue, because the one thing everyone likes in this game is making money.
  15. While I understand what you're saying, for the sake of the economy and to present as much opportunity for legit business, I think we need to start moving away from having everything ready to go immediately because an NPC sells it. To be honest, you could easily communicate with the players via the forums to set up an appointment to have your car suited up(role-play that it's email), just like they do IRL. I get it's a video game but making room for as much legal business as possible, run by real players, is a must. One a side note, maybe somewhere down the line a voicemail system could be added so that players can leave messages for players who are offline.
  16. Since modding your car isn't a necessity for role-play, I'd agree with @Mattkov and say completely remove the LS Customs. Second off, pretty much everything you listed here is already planned for the car/mechanic/chop shop system. There is just a lot of quality of life things that need to be completed first.
