  1. Yes, agreed. The jailtime currently keeps running even when you're offline. So when you have a jailtime, you could log off for the night and the next morning you're out, if I understand correctly. Which is understandable because there's no DOC and no actual roleplay in prison. But if you give people time they can only do while online, and give them increased time depending on the crime they commit, there would be roleplay going on. And yes, there's a lot of unreasonable stuff going on. I've seen a yoga instructor without criminal background murder another person. Why? Because her one-night-stand came in with another girl. So she murdered the other girl. Like, that stuff shouldn't be happening. Of course, it is realistically possible. Everything is possible. I could stab someone to death too. Is it something I would do? No. Because I have common sense, value a human life, my conscience would probably kill me in return and I have proper social restraints to keep myself from flipping out over something so silly. And I feel like it is too easy to roleplay a character without those social restraints, without a conscience and without valueing a human life. And that's a character concept I see far too often, unfortunately. There's an art in being able to roleplay the emotional side of a character. And putting a heavier jail setence or just a general increase in punishment on those crimes, should make people consider before they decide to take such heavy steps.
  2. It's a shame people disagree, really. Of course everyone's entitled to have their own opinion. But as someone who values roleplay more than wealth or materialistic goods, even I feel like making the crimes punished harder.
  3. Yes, as previously mentioned by @Syrike, a lot of the mods I suggested, mainly skin and map mods, should be able to be installed client-side, and since some people would like to keep the old skin textures and some people would prefer better skin textures, it's better to keep it clientside. So updating the thread by removing client-side possibility mods from the list. The clothing however, can't be added clientside neither can the beards be, considering how it has to be put into the game to avoid it from replacing other hairstyles. If you don't know about the client-side modding yet, I suggest you check out the guide by @kilerbite and @Firesky. Many thanks to them for making that happen. Here's the link to the guide:
  4. Although it is very annoying to have people see you through walls via the 'name above your head', there are rules in place to use against people who abuse this. Ontop of that as mentioned a few times in this topic already. Removing the names would cause a lot of problems that also need to be fixed. It could work but you'd simply have to fix those other issues one by one as well. And I don't think it's worth it, because as @Westen mentioned, I never had issues of people metagaming my name either. And if they had, I would've simply told them that's not possible. If they disagree, I'd report them.
  5. It's fine. I mean.. it isn't much of an issue generally for anything but the 6.5gb for me. I don't know how long it takes to get another, better download provider, so to say, either. So I wouldn't be one to tell you to do it otherwise. I downloaded one half earlier today and in 2 hours I can download the rest. So it is still do-able of you let your computer run in the meantime. :3
  6. @Firesky and @kilerbite thanks for the work for this. I really love it. Been wanting some retextures for some stuff. This is great! I do agree with the LA Billboards part, though. It doesn't bother me as much as it seems to bother Mytrix. But it'd be nice to have them be original billboards or at least the Vinewood sign instead of the Hollywood letters. Idk if that's the case but if it is, that isn't great! Also, question to Firesky. The screenshots above, did you make them with ENB or without ENB? I can't tell. My ENB looks really weird when using it on my computer. It impacts colors and lightning incredibly heavily. And I've made an account on Mega.nz but can confirm this doesn't help in daily quota. Tried re-downloading the 6.5gb file twice in a row (it didn't survive my computer going off for the night so had to start over) and I couldn't download it, not even in zip. And everytime I simply get that I have reached my free limit quota and have to wait 5 hours to continue or have to buy something. This is not a complaint, just something to inform others. Considering that there's no real other download website that I'd consider better and more reliable. We'll just have to work with what we have. :3
  7. Of course it is a game server. And people should be able to roleplay criminals. I feel like drug trade, human trafficking and other crimes people generally do to obtain considerable wealth, realistically, should be supported because GTA as a game is still also about the cop and robber chase. And that is something we cover with a few layers of good procedures and roleplay. But murder should be something people have to consider way longer about. If you are okay with killing someone elses character, you need to be okay with the potential fact that your character is going to be taken away from you too. And that is why I think, that people who commit murder, more than once, and get caught for it, need to receive a CK. And I think @Helm gave a good example on how that could be implemented. Of course, having those characters serve life in prison (instead of a CK) once there's a Department of Corrections would be the best. I've heard of GTA SA servers who literally had gangs roleplaying in prison. Which I think could be a realistic and fun portrayal for the people who are willing to roleplay that out. I don't think it is about decreasing crime. You can't deny that crime, roleplayed out well, is a very big aspect of the server and runs a great amount of roleplay on the server. But that is the key, crime roleplayed out well. And for that to happen, people need to really consider before they decide to take a step like murder.
  8. To be honest, I think repeated offenders of murder should be charged with a CK in the form of life imprisonment. If your character is repeatingly willing to murder (aka kill someone for the 2nd time) without remorse, regret or thought, then you need to run the risk of receiving a CK. For other crimes, I would suggest pairing the fine with a jail setence or increase the amount of time the jail setence is put in. It shouldn't be impossible to do crime, but people should seriously consider the risks of crime before getting into them.
  9. As long as there comes a similar forum as the pd and fd forums, or it gets implemented in the FD forums where there are certain doctors. And then people can schedule an appointment there so you know people are online. That way, you don't neccesarily need a lot of staff online. And maybe schedule an hour where people can just walk in and advertise such. My theory is that people will stay as long as there's roleplay. And specifically, enjoyable roleplay. And this is a way of achieving that.
  10. Fully support this. I remember having a bat to the head with a concussion and stitches. And I just had to fade to black the fact that the stitches were removed and such. I would have loved to get more roleplay out of being injured.
  11. Yes! This could be fun! Should be doable with the new script for businesses to make custom items. I am just not sure if convenient stores have access to that script since most are server owned.
  12. I actually managed to find a beard mod. Added it to the list, as well.
  13. I disagree with the ads. For now, they are great. Especially because they spam the chat. It is unfair, but Nervous also said it was temporary. I do disagree with the current /bad, though. But I've already made a suggestion on that.
  14. Well. The skins are hit or miss, since some people roleplay chubbers and some people roleplay muscly hunks. But I saw it and figured it'd be a good suggestion to add regardless. See how people respond to it! It'd be also nice to add a full beard mod like the image above, just haven't been able to find anything like it. But there's a suggestion going around for it, I believe. But yes, the clothes are just ?
  15. I get what you mean. But I don't believe in presenting an issue without also thinking about a way to fix it. And this was my way to present the issue of /bad being bad for GTA:W in it's current state and also presenting a direct way to replace it as I do understand the need to make donator perks interesting. There's unfortunately always those who will complain, and some would say that the ideal way to do donations is to don't do them at all. But a server doesn't run for free and we can't have that burden rest on the shoulders of the already hard working people of the team that works at developing this server even further. Even with paying for cosmetic items, people will have ways to complain. I for one value cosmetics more over something like /bad because it allows me to express myself, and most importantly my character. Especially when it comes to hair and clothes. But I'm glad so many people responded to give feedback on this matter. Maybe there are people who can suggest a better solution instead, and we'll get through this as a community.
  16. Short description: I saw that /bad has been made available to donators only now. This is bad for the in-game ecenomy, and forces business owners or employees who are willing to work, to pay real life cash to work in-game. Detailed description: The issue with /bad, which basically shows the icon / blimp of a business on the map, is now only available to donators. I however understand that there is a certain /need/ to make donator perks appealing to people, to have people get the donator perks, in order to support the server from a community perspective, I feel like that the /bad command is essential for the server's ecenomy and community, because this is how people find each other, how business are ran. If business owners are required to pay real life cash in order to run their business successfully and made in-game profit, there is something going wrong. I am of opinion that you roleplay for the experience, and not to win. So the term 'pay to win' is a bad term to use. But in this case, I will use it because there's no better way to describe this situation. But in order to not be a pouter, and point fingers at the staff and shout at them to fix it, I figured I'd come up with a solution to replace bad for something else that will also make donator perks appealing to people, but it won't make people able to win from others. It's just a fun little tool that this server doesn't seem to have yet. And it's called cruise-control on vehicles. It's rather easily implemented, and if you add this to donator perks, donator perks will still have a fun, exclusive command to use, but it will not give donators the financial benefit ICly (in-game), over non-donators anymore. Commands to add: /cc and possibly attach it to a hotkey. Items to add: No items to add. How would your suggestion improve the server? I believe I've explained how it improves the server already above. But basically, it keeps donator perks appealing to the public. It will provide support for the server upkeep. And at the same time, it won't give donators an IC benefit over non-donators. Additional information A tutorial on how to add cruise control. I've seen this on other servers too, and it works perfectly. https://rage.mp/forums/topic/991-cruise-control/
  17. I just saw this has already been implemented with garages too. Now, most garages with regular employees don't get customers either. ? I mean. I get there needs to be a way to fund the server, with donations. I myself have donated in the past and may do so again in the future as well. But I feel like placing things like this in a donator package is unfair. When roleplaying, you should never go for the win but for the experience. So using the term pay-to-win, feels a bit wrong. But it certainly is leaning that way right now. - This doesn't benefit either parties (business owners, customers), because customers can't find the business and business owners don't get their business found.
  18. I personally disagree with the 'no more business icons' part. I don't consider the icons a form of metagaming. And I'll explain why. If I look at my google maps, I can see all businesses on my google maps. And that's just on my phone. In my car, which even has outdated GPS in it, I can also find all local businesses in my direct general area. So ICly it's realistically possible to find businesses via those icons, ICly. I don't consider the map in the slightest OOC. I always consider it IC, either by phone or by gps in a vehicle. Beside that point, I believe it's very convenient. I remember there not being any icons for businesses and it took me ages to find a business. Now, every business has an icon. What I would instead like to see is to have all businesses icons on the map, all the time. And have them light up green when they are open. Not going to make a seperate suggestion on that, just mentioning it while we're on the subject. On the other hand. If there could be a way to disable literally all icons from the map when you're not in the posession of a phone, or on a vehicle. And all icons pop on the moment you enter a vehicle, or are in a posession of a phone. That'd be a great idea. But removing the icons entirely, I'm against, personally. On the GPS part on vehicles and such.. personally, I don't use that system much. So I cannot really add any feedback on that.
  19. I personally like the idea of forcing people to buy drinks and food, to not take damage. But I know a lot of people don't like the idea of 'having to do something'. So maybe a middle ground would be great. I would instead suggest adding buffs of eating food, and drinks, or consuming alcohol. Like faster running, or something similar. So that people aren't forced to eat, but there's still use for eating and drinking.
  20. Oh my god. You're right! Woops. I totally need to change that! Happens when you're editing articles till very late ?
  21. Thanks for the feedback you guys! As I said, list isn't suggested for all mods. Just based on feedback and decisions which mods can be added. I personally find the hoodie undershirt for under jackets etc. important, as well as the overalls and cardigans. They are great.
  22. I really like the ads, notifications and such seperated. It's often what bothers me a lot, that the chat is flooded by notification-spam or advertisement spam, and this fixes that easily. It'd be nice though to be able to set the normal chat window as it is, though. I'm just wondering, what'd happen to IC text messages and PM's? Would they remain in the chat window, or would they go to notifications?
  23. Short description: It's basically a suggestion for hair, clothes and quality of life mods. Detailed description: It's a long list of mods that I've gathered over the past and have saved in a txt file. Some are better than others. This suggestion isn't for all mods to be added. But it is a suggestion to add some of them, and it's up to feedback and the staff to decide which ones get added and which don't. I just know personally I like them all. I've catagorized them completely, too. Commands to add: None. Items to add: None. How would your suggestion improve the server? It'll allow players to express their characters better.
