TWO DEAD IN HOSTAGE STANDOFF

At around 7:00PM on June 4th 2023, Journalists were already on Senora Highway for another scene when a pursuit on a high powered Buffalo containing two individuals ended just a few hundred meters over the road.  The pursuit began from a shooting at Davis LTD in which Deputy Sheriff Trainee Shaw spotted the fleeing vehicle and took instant action deciding to pursue the suspect. Eventually an airship from the Sheriff's got involved at which point the suspects efforts were in vain. The pursuit lasted an estimated half an hour before coming to an abrupt end at the feet of our journalists.

Upon getting closer, a firearm was visible in the passengers hand being aimed towards the driver of the vehicle. Deputies stood their ground and began calling out for the suspect with the handgun to get him speaking in hopes for negotiations. As this occurred reinforcements arrived and began disembarking joining their brothers and sisters on the front lines. The standoff lasted around five to ten minutes before the suspect fired two shots into the head of the driver. The suspect was then fired upon by members of SEB. FD would go on to arrive on scene and pronounce both individuals in the vehicle dead.

Sergeant Merrick with the Sheriff's Department was able to provide the following statement:
We had witnessed the subject fleeing from the scene of a crime and initiated a pursuit that ended with the subject coming to a stop by the Senora Freeway, the subject declared a hostage and negotiations begun. Afterwards, the subject, abruptly executed the hostage, causing SEB to open fire and eliminate the suspect.
