Late
GPS system in game already says how many miles it is to get from place to place so hopefully this would be possible to add. Statics are fun, and could add to immersion with older vehicles and cars that are driven a lot. It could add a lot of benefits to the second hand car trade. It also opens the doors to the future where a distance based maintenance system could be required, such as oil changes every x amount of miles and what not but that's a different idea for another time. Thoughts? Link to comment
Lance
I wanted it for a long time, in fact I suggested it back when the server started. Even if it's a simple system that just shows how many miles/km's you had on your chosen car, I'm in. Link to comment
Late
Yes but it has to work by the same value as the gps/map Link to comment
Topinambour
I don't see much use for it, but I don't see any harm in it either, so, sure thing, why not! ^^ Link to comment

Makkebakke
Correct me if I'm wrong, but could just tie it in with an existing system like fuel-consumption? Would be no extra load, just one more stat to keep track of. Why the heck not. Support Link to comment
Rensai
Support cuz I'm a sucker for the small details. Link to comment
aymel
Yeah man shouldn't be hard to add up the total amount of miles you've done. Link to comment

Anyway definitely yes to the suggestion! It could be tricky and resource hungry, but maybe if we tried storing with the DB? Player enters car, have a get for when they start the engine and the set to store it back in the db when the car is turned off? Have a life odometer next to the speedometer that increases. It may be a fuck ton of math but definitely something we might be able to pull off with client side JavaScript? Edited May 20, 2018 by Bash Link to comment
