Unfortunately, Nedeljko's mother fell ill and urgently needed surgery. Desperate for money to cover the medical expenses, he made the difficult decision to sell the taxi company. He struck a deal with his three supervisors, each receiving a one-third share of the business. Nedeljko returned to Croatia to care for his mother during her recovery, which took a couple of years.
