What's everybody's thoughts on factions with drug supplier only being allowed one drug laboratory as opposed to two?

Doesn't this limitation just make drug supplier facs inherently worse than gun suppliers?

Let's just do the math really quickly. A beginning lab is going to have a maximum output of 1080 drugs monthly, most labs around 1800 monthly and the max I've ever seen a lab get pre-cursor wise, 2520 monthly. However, if assuming a non-optimized recipe, you can either half, third or quarter these numbers. From personal experience, I don't really think these optimized recipes are necessarily all that hard to find though. These drug lab drugs generally trend towards being far higher quality than supplier drugs.

What the current situation seems to be is that gun supplier factions have the ability to not only supply guns, but also have two labs which are producing lower-tier supplier number quantities of drugs, are higher quality than supplier drugs, while being able to keep all these drugs in house, with no real expectation from IFM to distribute drugs produced from a lab to other facs. This means that gun supplier factions can have a bargaining chip that allows them to negotiate with other factions that are more desirable than drugs (Guns), are able to arm themselves during a war for less money than most other facs (By virtue of being able to keep their gun drop in a war) and have basically medium-tier supplier drops to supply solely to their faction if they desire, that aren't constrained by monthly drops, instead producing 240 scripts/30 days and get pre-cursors every 2 weeks, generating daily roleplay. (By virtue of having two drug labs).

This is in contrast to drug suppliers, who are basically forced to not keep all their drugs in house within their faction (So they have a bargaining chip to either attain illegal electronics or secure a line on guns), are generally expected by IFM to distribute a portion of their drug drops to other facs, and for the portion they keep in-house, they're going to, on average, have a lesser or roughly equal quantity of lesser quality drugs than gun supplier facs to distribute to their own faction members. It's important to note that I'm not saying they get more drugs than a drug supplier, simply that they can supply more to their faction members on average.

That makes literally zero sense. Even with former discussions that have been had with the intent of "drug suppliers having the advantage in quantity, labs having the advantage in quality," this is still going to be the case just on the basis that drug suppliers have one bargaining chip and avenue to generate roleplay through scripts, while gun suppliers have two, one of which isn't even regulated distribution wise by IFM. Why should the drug supplier have less quantity to give to their own fac members than the gun supplier?

Key points of consideration:

  • Overall, with recent updates, two drug labs while rivalling that of a medium-tier drug supplier total quantity wise, will not be able to feasibly match the total quantity of a top-tier drug supplier.
  • The drug market as of right now is pretty dependent on labs.
  • This is not talking about the overall quantity supplied to the server as a whole, but to the seemingly paradoxical advantage non-drug supplier factions have to actually supplying their own members.
  • According to an IFM member, the only reason this rule existed in the first place was because "It used to be that drug suppliers would get a lab but they changed it cause labs suck." Whether or not labs actually suck is a separate matter, but the reason this rule even exists is no longer the case.
