    It's not the same. Gay pride for example is about being proud in defiance of hatred and discrimination. Straight pride is an appropriation used to demean that. It's literally the same thing with white pride. The term 'Brown and proud' isn't offensive because it doesn't suggest supremacy. Come on now.

    White pride is a racist moniker. It was made by racists and used by racists. It was not a term that was appropriated by racists, it is a term that was created by racists to hide behind "uhh but we're just proud of being white"

    except that you are ignoring historical context. It is used by white separatists and racists. Brown pride came out of the Chicano movement in response to racism and discrimination.

    I would argue that slang is proper English, especially AAVE. That's not the same at all. For example, brown pride isn't racist, because Mexicans in America were segregated and disenfranchised. White pride however is racist.
