  1. ((To RP sending an email or fax please Discord at mj172117 as an email/fax ICly initially and we will RP from there))
  2. Maybe! Is there an issue with detectives namechanging to avoid repercussions from people they have put warrants on? I wasn't aware of it. I've read the other replies. I get the comments regarding whether someone would just make another character to RP on during the cooldown window - and fair enough, that is server mechanics! And obviously if someone wants to go inactive, that is up to them. We won't ever fix people avoiding "consequence" RP but it might be a good nudge in the right direction. I think it is very frustrating when someone racks up significant charges on one account and then is able to immediately namechange out of it. It also has the possibility of disrupting court and warrant RP. One option could be that if they try and NC during the "cooldown" window, there is a (partial or whole) loss of assets? My experience is that this typically happens with people who RP street racer/low level crime characters (which is fine!) which quickly get out of hand for them once they realise they have felony warrants, and they namechange to someone who looks very similar, acts the same way and basically does the same thing and repeat. I wouldn't have an issue with someone applying for an NC before the "cool off" period with admin permission and a good RP reason, etc. And I wouldn't have an issue with someone taking a CK (if approved) either.
  3. In the US as a minimum states always require a rear plate. It's fronts which depend on the state. California requires both. Many models don't have realistic plates including bikes which have none despite them having a plate ICly. A continuity ruling on use of plates when they are unrealistically missing might be useful but presuming all registered cars would be expected to have a front and rear plate as in LA irl I don't think this is a feature issue. Personally I only RP a front plate if the model has one but a rear plate would be a legal requirement in any US jurisdiction so my understanding is this can be RPd is the vehicle is registered.
  4. The actual plates on the game are unrealistically hard to see vs IRL because of lighting and because almost no one plays in first person view. Some models also don't have modelled plates despite having a plate IC. The introduction of the command has meant that plates and the associated accountability can actually realistically be RPd. I am sure that will be frustrating for many who have got used to plates basically not being a feature except for ALPR and stationary vehicles, but the introduction of /dl has supported portrayal and should stay.
  5. Support. More incentives to think about windows being open/closed as well as realistically being careful about what you're saying on frequency would add to immersion, too. You could also add a 'volume control' for the radio in non-earpiece mode which determines how far it can be read by others. The lower the volume the less far it can be read, but the text is darker for the user too.
  6. As I said, I would have the warrant list check be done as part of the namechange form, only after the "Submit" button is pushed. So to find out, you'd have to commit to a namechange anyway if you aren't wanted.
  7. This is a hybrid rules/UCP suggestion. I think a rule be introduced (policed by a UCP feature) whereby a character cannot namechange within a certain period of time following issue of a warrant by the Courts against them. In my view, this is common courtesy (where the suspect knows there is a warrant) and fairness (which applies both when they do, and don't know). At present it is possible for someone to go on a crime spree, which they know will land them with a warrant/significant prison time, and then namechange themselves out of it. As well as being an issue of fairness, it can be really frustrating when a lot of time has gone into a warrant which is immediately wasted when the person namechanges. This suggestion from me is inspired by a recent example where I spent around 2-3 hours interviewing a witness, pulling evidence together, and writing a detailed warrant for some fairly serious offences, to find that less than 24 hours later, they have namechanged. Obviously a warrant shouldn't stop someone from ever being able to namechange as many warrants go unexecuted. I would suggest a cooling off period of 7-14 days after issue of a warrant where the UCP does not allow the player to change that character's name. I would also suggest that the check against the warrants list only be done once the player has committed to the namechange process - so the feature wouldn't be able to be abused casually to check whether a warrant is outstanding.
  8. I don't think that it's likely there would be a full response by law enforcement within 10 seconds! It would only take a couple of minutes for the cash to be handed over, surely? It definitely makes sense to focus the routes more out into the county, or perhaps at night hours etc to stop it from happening in the middle of Legion Square at 5pm. That said, we roleplay the map as we see it, not as if it has NPCs wandering around etc. One option would be that any death of a suspect during a CIT could lean towards being a CK which would encourage a serious amount of planning and disincentivise turning it into a shooting match.
  9. Name: Concerned Citizen Comment: It is shocking to see some of the language being used, presumably by fellow police officers or their supporters, to insult one officer and support a 'brotherhood' behind another. That is precisely the language used in the vast amount of police corruption and murder cases in this city, where 'brotherhood' is regularly fought in the courts. Why do we give this bunch of thugs, who are as bad as eachother, badges and lethal weapons?
  10. Hello, I am interested if this is still available/the sale has fallen through. Please e-mail me at [email protected] ((Forum PM)) if you still require a buyer. Thanks, G. Bourgoyne

  12. It would also be extremely useful for lining objects up as you could simply input the same Y value etc. Strong agree
  13. Good idea and as others say would be good to have it on login too. Or perhaps every payday? It would be a good reminder to think about outfits - its too easy to just stay in the same skin all day sometimes and would be nice to encourage people to change more often (e.g. making subtly different versions of outfits with longer sleeves/jackets etc).
  14. In some areas, the mod is fantastic - it looks great. In others, I'm afraid, it falls down. Why do we want empty hotdogs stands in LS? The server already feels "empty" compared to IRL. We make the best of it, but empty hotdog stands just add to the "empty server" feel. A baffling addition that only makes the city feel more empty. When have you ever seen an abandoned hotdog stand IRL? I suspect I could count on both hands the number of people who will ever RP with these props. The framerate issue also affects many of us, and while from the polling it is clear that those with significant disposable income IRL (with meaty systems) are winning, it's tragic to see the opportunity of county/park RP slipping away from those of us without high-spec punchy systems. If admins take this polling at face value, there's a lot of users who are going to be looking for overtime at work in the coming months, or considering leaving the server. My view is that anyone who meets the minimum system requirements of GTA V should be able to play GTAW moderately smoothly, even if on minimum settings. I'm not sure that is the case any more with this mod.
  15. Apologies if this has been posted before - I couldn't find any trace but it's a bit of an obscure idea so I wasn't sure if a previous poster used different language. Short description: A system which allows property owners/renters to switch lights on/off in the property by allowing them to flag "Controllable light" to ON and (de)spawning lightbulb objects with a command. Detailed description: One of the issues with mapping interiors is that Rockstar gave a lot of their lights different luminous properties. Some throw floods of light, while others just look nice but give out no light. This means that when mapping it's often useful to add lightbulb objects within a decorative lamp so that it actually lights the place up. This got me thinking - surely it would be possible to set a flag on these lights so that when you're in a property, you can turn the lights on or off by spawning/despawning the lightbulb/spotlight objects which are usually added to make them generate light. My thinking is it would only work with certain "lighting" objects, and only if they are flagged that way (a bit like how collision can be turned on or off). Commands to add: /plights (or similar) Items to add: None, but tag existing bulb objects (or just add new furniture objects - controllable light, etc) How would your suggestion improve the server? It would allow diverse RP within interiors by allowing people to turn lights on/off which could be useful for various RP scenes (e.g. watching a film, having a meeting, etc). It would also make interiors more versatile as task lighting could be added without it needing to form a permanent part of the interior. Additional information: None.
