Adrián Montenegro

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaMonte2.png

Adrián Carlos Montenegro (born October 24, 2001), also known as "El Lupo" (Italian: the wolf) was a reputed Cuban-American drug trafficker active in Los Santos during the early 2020s. He was allegedly an associate of a Mexican drug trafficking cell in southern San Andreas, under Ezequiel "Whisper" Medina, leader of the Paisa Alliance.

Adrián was allegedly a notable fentanyl distributor in Los Santos, following his discharge from the United States Marine Corps in 2021.

Montenegro was last spotted alive on June 2, 2023 according to CCTV footage from a 24/7 store on the Great Ocean Highway. It is believed he was murdered by his criminal associates, though some organized crime theorists believe he fled to Mexico.

Biography

Adrián Montenegro was born in Havana, Cuba to Carlos and Valeria Montenegro. According to records from the Havana police, Carlos was involved with a Cuban drug trafficking cell during the 2000s, under Santiago "El Zumbón" Salazar (d. 2011). Carlos was later slain in 2008 by the organization, and Adrián and Valeria fled to the United States as illegal immigrants. They later obtained green cards.

Adrián and his mother initially lived in East Beach, Los Santos before settling in the heavily Hispanic neighborhood of Rancho, where he attended high school. During his time in school, he worked at the Tool Shed, a hardware store in West Vinewood managed by his cousin, Vanessa. He graduated with a diploma in 2019 and joined the United States Marine Corps.

While in the Marines, Adrián was assigned to the 2nd Marine Raider Battalion, as part of Task Force 211. His unit was stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

It is believed that after Adrián returned from his deployment, he became associated with the Paisa Alliance, working primarily alongside Ezequiel "Whisper" Medina and "Culebra", an unidentified major drug trafficker in Los Santos (referenced during the trial of Dominic "The Blonde" Civella, an alleged member of the Martorano crime family.)

From 2021 to the summer of 2023, Adrián was allegedly responsible for the distribution of fentanyl and cocaine as part of the Mexican narcotrafficking ring operated by Whisper.

For much of 2022, Adrián operated in Phoenix, Arizona. He returned to Los Santos later in the year.

Throughout his tenure as a drug trafficker, Adrián maintained legal employment at the Tool Shed, and the Panaderia La Camilita restaurant in Morningwood.

Disappearance

Adrián Montenegro was last spotted buying coffee at a 24/7 convenience store on the Great Ocean Highway near Los Santos, on the morning of June 2, 2023. It is unknown what became of him after that, though independent crime researchers suggest he was murdered by the Paisa Alliance, or a rival organization.

Other investigators suggest Adrián could have faked his own death and fled to Mexico, where he has family in the state of Sinaloa. He could've fled due to heat from law enforcement, or from tension within his organization.

As of the present day, Adrián or his remains have not been located, and no witnesses have come forth to shed light on his disappearance.
