The San Andreas Aviation Authority (SAAA) is responsible for overseeing, implementing and maintaining the aviation laws & regulations in the State of San Andreas such as flight rules and licensing, providing Air Traffic Control and maintaining & implementing procedures in the San Andreas airspace and its airdromes.

In order to properly address issues and when implementing or making changes to the aviation law(s) with a significant impact on the aviation in San Andreas, SAAA works closely and consults with other agencies such as the the fire department, law enforcement agencies and flight schools.

The objective of the Air Traffic Control department is to prevent collisions, organize and expedite the flow of air traffic and provide information and other support to pilots, but at the same time to issue and enforce regulations related according to the San Andreas Aviation Code - including airspace restrictions, minimum altitudes and so on.

One of the technological tools the ATC department uses is the radar. The radar provides a clear image of the airspace to the Air Traffic Controller, and information such as the aircraft's heading, altitude, location and proximity to different locations or other aircraft.

The radar also allows the air traffic controller to guide emergency services in certain situations that require ATC guide to locations of emergency such as airplane crashed, forced landings and so on.

How do you become an Air Traffic Controller?

You can read additional details in this section on the SAAA website.
