Hoover Groovers / Hoover Crips

The Hoover Groovers, modernly known as the Hoover Criminals Gang began in the early 1960’s, at this time they were not connected to any particular gang. By the late 1970’s the Hoover Groovers dropped the Groovers and adopted the Crip moniker, forming the Hoover Crips. This was initiated due to the fact the Rollin 60’s Neighborhood Crips & The Eight Tray Gangster Crips began feuding, leaving other street gangs to pick a side. The younger brother of one of the founding members of the Hoover Groovers was murdered and word around spread accusations that blamed pinned the murder on the West Side Crips.

The two gangs (Hoover Groovers & West Side Crips) arranged a meeting on Carson Avenue, between Forum Drive and Innocence Street at the BJ Smith Recreation Center. Both gangs eventually formed an alliance and put the blame on the Figueroa Boys for the murder. These actions led to the leader of the Figueroa Boys being violently beaten at a nightclub in LA.

During the mid 1970s, due to the alliance with the West Side Crips, the Hoovers decided to drop the Groovers moniker and adopt the Crips name (Hoover Crips). By 1979, When the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips and the Eight Tray Gangster Crips began to feud, it forced gangs to plead their alliance to either the Rollin 60s Crips or the Eight Tray Crips.

The gangs who decided to maintain their alliance with the Rollin 60s adopted the “Neighborhood Crips” also known as Deuces or Deuce Gang’s (2x) as for the gangs who kept their alliance with the Eight Tray Gangster Crips adopted the “Gangster Crips” also known as the Trays or Tray Gangs (3x). The Hoover Crips decided to side with Eight Tray Crips, falling in line and going under the Gangster Crip card, “Hoover Gangster Crips”.

Raymond Washington, one of the founders of the East Side Crips gang, was murdered in a drive-by shooting in August of 1979. Rumors would spread around the city of the shooters that shot and killed Washington, who were believed to be a part of the Hoover Crips. The East Side Crips pinned the shooting on the Hoover Crips and held them responsible for the murder of Raymond Washington. This sparked a fuse between the two gangs, leading up to start a feud between the Hoover Crips and the East Side Crips.

Hoover Criminals Gang

During the Crack epidemic the Hoover Criminals became one of the most notorious street gangs to partake in the drug trade within Los Santos County. The infamous drug lord Ricky “Freeway” Ross, was believed to be affiliated with the Hoover Criminals. By the 1980’s the 75a4669a8a45c238a1f0146c76eab0d5.gifHoover Criminals had made a name for themselves. The Hoover criminals were if not one of the most feared and hated gangs in South Central, LS. They had a brutal reputation involving gun violence which made them prime suspects in gang-related shootings, and were accused of many shootings throughout South Central. The Hoover criminals were into bitter rivalries with multiple crip gangs by the late 1980s. The Hoovers dropped the Crips moniker and decided to replace it with Criminals, excluding the 52 Hoover Gangster Crips. The change was inspired by the many rivalries they have with crip gangs and the fact that the Hoover Criminals claim “ABK” (Anybody Killer) or “EBK” (Everybody Killer) also pushing “BK” (Blood Killer) and “CK” (Crip Killer). Due to their bitter rivalry with the Rollin 0’s card they also claim to be “OK” as well standing for Strollin O’s Killer. These various disses towards their enemies would be seen tagged around their territory.

W/S 83 HOOVER CRIMINALS GANG

The W/S Hoover Criminals Gang (ETH, 83HCG, Eight Tray Hoovers), also known as the Tiny Raskals, Tray Sojas, and Young Threats, are a predominately, but not exclusively, an African-American street gang suited in the South Los Santos corridor. The street gang finds itself a part of the Hoover Criminal’s card, the gang also affiliates themselves with the Trays (3x) card and associates with the83G.gif Innocence Family Gangster Bloods, forming the Groovin, Movin, and Suwooping alliance, due to them sharing the same enemies. The street gang also finds itself a part of the Shady Eighties clique along with the 83 Gangster Crips and Innocence Family Gangster Bloods. Their territory combined stretches from Innocence Boulevard (North) to Strawberry Avenue (South), crossing Carson Avenue. With them being affiliated with the Hoover Criminals card they’re allies by default with the all Hoover Criminals, such as 59 Hoover Criminals Gang, 74 Hoover Criminals Gang, 92 Hoover Criminals Gang, 94 Hoover Criminals Gang, 107 Hoover Criminals Gang, 112 Hoover Criminals Gang, including the 52 Hoover Gangster Crips & 51 Trouble Gangster Crips, who form the 512 Gangster Crips, the Hoovers also find themselves in a close alliance with the Barrio 18th Street’s clique Hoover Locos, both street gangs peacefully coexist with each other and share the same enemies. The Hoover Criminals are referred to as an "immigration center" due to their mass of Hispanic members, the Hoover Street Locos also share a close relationship with the 83 Hoover Criminals Gang due to them being the closest hoover gang within their proximity.

The 83 Hoover Criminals share a close alliance with the 74 Hoover Criminals and form the Tray-Fours Hoovers Criminal Gang (34HCG). The street gang also finds themselves allied with the Campanella Park Pirus. Their rivals consist of all Rollin O’s & Neighborhood Crips and/or street gangs that associate themselves with the 2x Card, especially the 657 Neighborhood Crips, they also feud with the 84 Main Street Mafia Crips & 98 Main Street Mafia Crips, all East Coast Crips, even though they find themselves allied with most Gangster Crips they have past history beefing with the 87 Gangster Crips & 97 Gangster Crips. They also have a previous history of feuding with the 84 Mad Swan Bloods.

DEATH ALLEYhomicidemap.png

Detective’s call it “Death Alley.” The two miles of South Carson Avenue that stretch north from Innocence are home to churches, liquor stores, mortuaries and one of the highest rates of homicide in L.S County.

Sixty people have been killed along this corridor since 2014, most killed due to gun violence.

The violence, which seems never-ending, landed at Kaniya Rodgers doorstep.

When gunshots sprayed from a passing car in October, panicked neighbors fled through the hallways of her apartment complex on Strawberry Avenue. Rodgers opened her door to find Joseph Montoya Rodrigez on the floor, screaming “I’ve been hit, please help me!” The commotion caused the accompanying neighbors to exit their homes and surround the wounded male attempting to calm him by telling him he would be OK. Ms. Rodgers recognized him. Their young children played together. Rodriguez, 24, would die before the sunrise.

Early last year, Hawkins, 34 moved out of her mother’s home and into the unincorporated community, known as Figueroa, lured by a cheap deposit. Since then, she’s seen Los Santos County Sheriff deputies storm the light tan complex, guns drawn. She’s watched as people tossed weapons and drugs onto the roof to avoid arrest.

In the courtyard a man was beaten and stabbed with shards of a broken plate.

By the time Ordaz lay mortally wounded, Hawkins had seen enough. She vowed to find a way out.

“There’s violence everywhere, she said. “But it’s not like this”

In a county of 10 million people, Figueroa Gardens is among the deadliest places to live. In the last seven years, 100 people -- nearly all of them male -- have been killed in the 1.8 square miles wedged between the City of Los Santos and South Davis. Times analysis of homicide data collected in that time found Figueroa Garden’s rate of killings to be the highest overall.

Hoover Criminals Vs. Main Street Mafia Crips

The Hoover Criminals and the Main Street Mafia Crips used to be close allies. However, in 2009, their alliance was ended on bad terms at a house party thrown by the Main Street Mafia Crips who invited the Hoover Criminals. Allegedly, the Hoovers and the Main Street Mafia Crips got into a confrontation, allegedly over a female, which ended in gunfire. On August 16th, 2009, the 94 Hoover Criminals Gang made headlines when Daquawn Allen, also known as 4-Star AKA 2-Shay, a known member of the 94 Hoover Criminals was gunned down in broad daylight after walking home from a 5de9a45fa141f.pngshopping mall known as Davis Mega Mall on Cason Avenue. Daquawn Allen was shot twice in the torso and succumbed to his injuries in the early morning of August 16th. He was only thirteen at the time of the tragic shooting. The Los Santos Police Department arrested 21 year old, Kristopher Thomas, the one responsible for Daquawn's death. Kristopher Thomas was an active gang member of the Main Street Mafia Crips, a well known Hoover Criminals rival. Authorities believe the shooting is a result of a previous conflict between the two beefing gangs.

On August 25, 2009, a gunman walked into the heart of the Main Street Mafia Crips' neighborhood, opening fire and shooting 29 year old Drayvon James and 16 year old Robert Nelson. Both of the victims died from multiple gunshot wounds on the scene. Police believe that the gunman was affiliated with the 94 Hoover Criminals Gang and the shooting was in retaliation for the killing of Daquawn Allen. The shooter was never apprehended and the case is still outstanding.

Daquawn Allen, 13

On August 16, 2009, at about 12:20 p.m., 13-year-old Daquawn Allen was walking southbound on Carson Avenue from Davis Mega Mall with a friend when a lone male suspect approached and verbally confronted him. The suspect then produced a handgun and shot Allen in the upper torso. Allen collapsed to the ground, mortally wounded, and the suspect returned to a waiting vehicle and left the area. Allen was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital by Los Santos Fire Department paramedics where he died.  The circumstances surrounding the murder led investigators to believe the shooting was gang related.

This incident sparked a series of shootings in LSPD’s Southeast and Forum Drive area, leaving two more victims dead and at least three others wounded. As a result of these and other South Los Santos incidents in July and August this summer, Chief Gibbs formed a multi-agency task force to coordinate investigative efforts in the case. Detectives worked tirelessly through an exhaustive investigation to identify and arrest the suspect involved in this murder. Cooperation and assistance from various Department entities, including a leading surveillance team, as well as other law enforcement partners, was critical to the success of the investigation.

In the early afternoon of Friday, August 28, 2009, LSPD detectives arrested 21-year old Los Santos resident Kristopher Thomas for Allen’s murder. Thomas remains in custody with bail set at $1 million.

FACTUAL BACKGROUND:

About noon on August 16, 2009, Charnae Bray and the victim, Dequawn Allen, were returning from a swap meet on Carson Avenue and Davis Avenue. Bray was wearing an orange hoodie and Allen had an orange bandana on. 4 They were walking on Carson Avenue towards Forum Drive when Bray saw the defendant approaching them. Bray wondered who he was since she had never seen him before. The defendant (Kristopher Thomas) had on a white shirt, blue jeans and a hoodie. Bray and Allen were walking by a gym when the defendant walked up to them and asked Allen where he was from. Allen said he was from 9-4 Hoover. The defendant replied “Oh, yeah, is that right” and pulled out a gun from his waistband. Allen and Bray started running away.

Hoover Criminals Vs. Main Street Mafia Crips (2021)

The ongoing feud between the W/S 83 Hoover Criminals Gang and Main Street Mafia Crips has reached a new height in shooting related deaths as of late. The recent series of tragic events kicked off with 83HCG affiliates Jason "P3li Tr3y” Parejo and Nalani “Infant Lady Tr3y Fingerz#5” Epps driving over to Roy Lowenstein Boulevard (Main Street Mafia Crip territory) and getting into a verbal dispute with what they suspected to be a member of the MSMC street gang. The teen denied all affiliations, until a group of Main Street Mafia Crip affiliates backed him up. The group screamed several disrespectful remarks towards the two Hoover Criminals, as the situation grew more intense it attracted police attention. Parejo hopped out of the car and got into a physical alteration with the group of Main Street Mafia Crips, police defused the situation and detained Jason only to release him minutes later. About an hour after the original confrontation Main Street Mafia Crip affiliates loaded into a vehicle and began to seek vengeance against the W/S 83 Hoover Criminals Gang.4sufi.gif They spotted Aidan Epps now (MK Storm/Tr3y Fingerz#6) standing outside an apartment building on Forum Drive who at the time was only affiliated by blood relation to the Hoover Criminals (Younger brother to both Nalani “Infant Lady Tr3y Fingerz#5” Epps and Delaney “Tr3yTh4nkg” Epps). They proceeded to hop out the car and jump Aidan, humiliating him. Aidan called upon his older sister Nalani and Jason for help, the three hopped in a vehicle and slid past Roy Lowenstein Blvd and shot into a group of Main Street Mafia Crips gathered on the street corner. The most notable being Jelani “P9” Hadley who was rushed to the hospital and survived the ordeal. The next day Main Street Mafia Crip affiliates slid through Forum Drive (Known Hoover Criminals stronghold) and conducted a drive by shooting, gunning down local 16 year old teenager Antonio Thomas who bled out and died on the scene. Antonio was unaffiliated with the 83 Hoover Criminals Gang and was sadly a common case of being at the wrong place at the wrong time. His mother took to the local news in outrage, his death hitting a little too close to home for all local residents of the Forum Drive area.

FaceBrowser Tension340.gif?width=964&height=630

Main Street Mafia Crips took to FaceBrowser to mock the death of the unaffiliated teenager, antagonizing the Hoovers. A few hours after Antonio Thomas was pronounced dead Jason “P3li Tr3y” Parejo, Nalani “Infant Lady Tr3y Fingerz#” Epps, Gerado “Tako#4 Jimenez, and Aidan Epps drove over to MSMC turf seeking retaliation. Nalani hung out of the back of the vehicle with a fully loaded MPA30T and opened fire on a group of Main Street Mafia Crips. Ironically the most notable member of the MSMC gang who was caught in the hail of gunfire was Jelani “P9” Hadley who was rushed to the hospital with several gunshot wounds to his rear. Hadley died on the operating table at the Central Los Santos Medical Center during surgery that same night. P9’s death sparked taunting from multiple different gangs all across social media for days on end. The gun violence went cold for several days until MSMC affiliates conducted a shooting on the 18st gang, specifically targeting Alex “Baby Cinco” Becerra. The Park Boys shot up a crowd of people huddled together in 18st turf leaving several in critical condition, including Becerra and 83HCG Hoovlette Sierra “Baby Nutty#3” Dawson. This sparked even more beef over social media specifically the FaceBrowser platform.

The Death of Infant Lady Tr3y Fingerz#5

homicidereport.png?width=988&height=630

Nalani "Infant Lady Tr3y Fingerz#5" Epps took it upon herself to get a T shirt made disrespecting the fallen Jaleni “P9” Hadley, many attribute this to be the main factor of her tragic death. The same night Epps posted pictures of her wearing the T shirt, a car full of 83HCG affiliates and another car full of MSMC affiliates butted heads in traffic. This resulted in a shootout leaving one Main Street Mafia Crip injured and both cars riddled with bullets. A day after this shootout MSMC affiliates drove by Forum Drive where Nalani was standing outside the 1804 apartment building and shot once in the neck and several times in the body. Nalani was pronounced DOA and bled out in her brother Delaney's hands. This sparked the social media movement and hashtag #83Days83Nights, calling for back to back murders on all enemy gangs.
