THE NAME OF BREAKWATER AND ROOTS

Vespucci Breakwater Community is a band of childhood friends who found interest in skating and surfing at a young age, The ideology of the group was inspired by The Vespucci Breakwater Locals; a now-defunct set. Their interests involved vary but the group of misfits all shared one thing in common which was punk rock, skating, and surfing gave the fact they lived so close to the beach. In the early 2000s, Vespucci had a large influx of Immigrant Hispanics come in from Southern America; a large portion of Breakwater had family members in REDACTED MC that consisted of Caucasian and Hispanics, they didn't see any difference between a Caucasian person and a Hispanic person, seeing them as an equal. Living so close to the beach didn't mean all sunshine and rainbows, they all had a fair share of poverty, most of them don't have the best home life; them either having to go through domestic violence or having to see their parents struggle with drug or alcohol addiction. The small bonded community grew a belief to make ''Dogtown'' great again, aiming to keep off any tourists or people causing harm to the community in general. Starvation grew over the years for the teenagers, taking a deep turn in their early chapters of life. Involving themselves with small-time crimes where everyone participated to earn some cash in their pocket and made sure the name Dogtown was ringing in everybody's heads. The group of juvenile delinquents, misfits, and social outcasts started off with small-time crimes; ranging from theft, assaults, mugging, and anything that could keep them and their families fed. This was only for a while until law enforcement began to notice them; " a large crowd of intimidating teenagers full of anger and rage walking or skating the pavement of Vespucci". Most of the members already had their share of run-ins with the law, the majority of them already known by law enforcement from school or from criminal history. Violence grew in Vespucci along with crime growing in nearby communities, Breakwater tried their best to keep crime out of Dogtown but weren't shy to resort to violence if they didn't get their way. Breakwater hosted a punk rock venue that later on was posted on the LS Times, leaving two officers critically injured and a teenager deceased. A noise complaint turned into a riot in a matter of seconds, the LSSD ordered the large crowd to shut it down, and in a matter of seconds, bottles and objects were thrown at them. Henry "Cluster" Watkins as gunned down after attempting to stab an officer while high off methamphetamine, the LSSD seized whatever was left; large amounts of alcohol, narcotics, and equipment for the concert.    The police started taking notice of the Breakwater community after being pressured by local communities and the residents of Vespucci. In 2017, law enforcement labeled Breakwater as a street gang. This combined with the violence and crime sent many members of breakwater off to jail or juvenile halls but only for a small period of time, it only made matters worse for law enforcement; membership began to number due to Breakwater recruiting younger members from local junior highs and high schools. A large amount of younger members looked up to them after numerous stories and most came from unstable households and dysfunctional families just wanting to fit in, it made them an easier target to recruit. Jumping in the newer members as an initiation became a tradition, newer recruits were handpicked and some were rejected but both had to go through a ruthless beat down done by several people, while somebody else counted for 24 seconds for the number of  letters of "KEEPING BREAKWATER ALIVE".
Years passed, a large amount of Breakwater affiliates were in and out of prison, it was expected at a young age from piers and always was raised with the mindset never to crack. Prison only expanded their horizons and was almost like a fraternity, Breakwater is biracial with Caucasian and Hispanic members, it gave them the option to widen their name and business in the penitentiary system. The San Andreas Correctional Systems being harshly racial segregated causing the brothers in arms had to pick a side, it wasn't a major change or surprise for them. Their older family members and piers taught them a thing or two about the prison so it gave them growth, the Hispanics falling into the Southsider car, and Caucasians falling into the White car either it didn't mean anything to them and were always open to politick in the yard. Members being in and out of prison, the gang built their development and took advantage of what they learned from the penal system. A large production of money came from the selling of narcotics selling, selling anything they could get their hands on, ranging from psychedelic drugs to hardcore narcotics. Extortion was another big part, preying mostly on newer businesses that newly opened up in Vespucci or nearby. The younger generation takes part in quick cash tactics, partaking in petty crimes such as theft, vandalism, and robberies. Older members educated the youth of Breakwater on how to avoid any run-ins with the law, making sure to keep their records clean and tempt their hand of fate at blue-collar crimes such as credit card scamming, counterfeiting, and embezzlement what they established offered more money.   This merciless, party crazy community is never shy to further develop their ways to achieve money and widen their membership., still sticking to their roots and staying as a strong generation and only keeping locals in while keeping the lames and tourists out.  The older generation still reminiscing about their roots and how to approve, making sure to pass down knowledge through the younger generation.

THE HISTORY OF DOGTOWN / VESPUCCI BEACH

Vespucci was once an independent city but merged into Los Santos as a neighborhood in 1926. Popular for the beach and amazing architecture of the man-made canals along with the Del Perro Pier that outlooks into the Pacific Ocean. The history behind Vespucci isn’t what it’s known for today, what was once a hotspot for crime and narcotics. A familiar name amongst Vespucci locals for their home was “Dog Town” which was the name established by a surf group by the name of “Z-Boys” in the 1970s, the group recruited younger locals to represent them in surfing and skating competitions, handpicking them one by one. Older generations from Dogtown will recall the rise and downfall of the Z-Boys where many fell into the hands of addiction, jealously, and greediness.   In the 1980s, Vespucci was known for its hardcore underground punk rock scene along with its skating and surfing roots, which still runs deep in Vespucci’s culture today. What was founded in New York, eventually found itself in the White middle-class teenagers out in Vinewood and down to Vespucci, creating huge popularity amongst rebellious crowds in Los Santos. Vespucci added their own style and twist, where a majority of not able to afford the traditional flashy clothing. Offering them the other alternative to dress up like cholos, not as a fashion statement because it was all they could afford. The punk rock movement ran up and down Los Santos, forming crews and small-time gangs, giving teenagers something to do and a sense of social activities. Larges parties and concerts were popular amongst teenagers, most of the time ended in the police shutting it down or a huge fight breaking out over a female or an argument. Anger mongered out in the teens and violence sparked throughout the city, kids having full-out brawls in open enclosed spaces and broad daylight assaults in the open when a rival was caught in the hands by a crew. Vespucci crowds favored guerilla tactics and preferred blunt and edged weapons to inflict all upmost harm against anybody who crossed them. When the punk rock movement died down in the late 1980s, Vespucci became a breeding ground for several street gangs, a majority of being predominately Caucasian or Hispanic origin. A bulk of the punk rock scene in Vespucci either dropped out, banded arms with the skinhead or peckerwood gangs in the area, or either clicked up with any sanctioned Suréno set.   On a late summer night, a fire erupted and destroyed the pier, gladly nobody was injured but it truly broke the hearts of the locals, leaving nothing behind but the rubbles and ashes. The 1990s began the reconstruction of Vespucci; a low-income neighborhood turned into a tourist attraction, gentrifying homes, local businesses, and what we now acknowledge as the Del Perro Pier. No longer identified as the ghetto by the sea but as a hotspot for vacation, large hordes of tourists swarmed Vespucci only created hostility and hate within locals, installing the mentality of the popular saying “Locals Only” that has been used in many generations of Vespucci. This was only for a small period, it heavily declined when Vespucci suffered from a drug epidemic, the 1990s opened a new door for drugs, crack cocaine and methamphetamine just to name a few, cheap alternatives for the drugs that roamed the streets.    Gang warfare broke out in the streets, making the situation much worse. Groups decided to arm themselves with firearms that their fathers used in the wars or had bought off, joining the murderous pool of narcotics and crime. The beach was littered with needles and almost every night gunshots rang out and sirens would come hollering down the street.
