Hi, so recently I have been joining a lot of outlaw and criminal groups. But I had one problem, is that I don't know how to find illegal schemes, getting some criminal activities idea to roleplay, not able to generate some illegal venture. I have been struggling roleplaying a criminal because of that issue I made a lot of re-search on googles, but Googles didn't gave me enough information about that kind of things. Also, the other problem is that I don't know how do I implement that specific scheme or illegal venture with the limited script powers I have (Not really limited tho, I mean it may need more scrips to be able to function). I always don't find any ideas for illegal ventures or schemes I can offer to the server that will be realistic and roleplayable by the community. I even used ChatGPT to get me some ideas, but still the information I get was not enough, and that really killed my criminal RP. I need some guide guys on how I can I generate some illegal ventures and schemes I can do on the server.

Just as an example - you can apply for a scheme to start growing either weed or mushrooms.

 

Really comes down to what you want to do. If you don't like anything from those lists, you can always come up with your own unique scheme and you might have a chance to have it approved by IFM.

first you need to achieve a rolling boil and then cook your spaghetti al dente. remove the cooked pasta and drink the boiling water straight from the pot.

i think the most successful schemes will be ones where you're providing something of value to someone else. that "someone else" could be another player, or it could be an NPCed third party that's been approved by IFM to reimburse you for your roleplay. but what you really want to think about is what can your character actually do to provide someone with something valuable enough to pay you for it. exceptions to that rule are things like fraud, where the only party gaining any value is yourself.

 

what I would do is search news websites local to LA County and the surrounding areas, search for "crime," and see what you can find. i've discovered fairly unique avenues that way which i've turned into IFM backed schemes and made a significant amount of roleplay/script cash through.

Do you have any recommendations for news website LA related? Like a trusted source of news?

What I am looking for is a website that is updated with the latest types of schemes or crimes that occurred, that explain exactly how the crime was done. The news will just point out the important parts of the crime, that people care to know. So, that's why I am facing problem.

to find out how specific crimes are carried out, you're going to have to research specifically around that crime. but this is a starting point to find something that interests you and fits your character.

That is the another problem. The problem here is that I actually tried to see how this type of crime committed , but I didn't get any step by step or know how this type of crime is done. It's just a simple explanation and that's it. I am looking for something straight to the point like a website or something. Like a website that list all types of crimes the new and the old.

You'll hardly come across a website detailing how crimes are done unless you're browsing the darkweb or Telegram channels. I mostly suggest to read a lot of articles eith the same type of crime, I'd also take in account the state it's happening in. When I get interested in s crime or a subject that'd what I usually do, read up a bunch of articles about it and bookmark them, then when I have different questions about it I try and ask chatgpt or type the question on google or reddit. You can probably lesrn a fre things about how dome stuff are done. There's a multitude of schemes that can be done in-game or that you can find ways to do it. 

 

Just try and do your research and check the features of the server and what's do-able and what's not. I'm not sure where you're from but for example: I'm from Canada and here, fraud is a very popular crime. We have bank apps and Interact which allows us to transfer money directly in another bank account, lots of fraud methods around it, I dig'd up and knew that the US usually deals with third party apps like Zelle to make transfer, on GTAW we use the Fleeca mobile app. When I applied for one of my method, I adapted it to fit our world and IFM helped me to make the scheme I wanted to do workable in-game. 

 

There's also stuff that's do-able with businesses. Another example: I think in Ontario or Ottawa there was some type of tow truck company war back then. Tow trucks were being burned, companies receiving phone calls with threats. Same goes for the construction business and bid rigging, I know city GOV been dropping a few contracts here and there for companies.

 

The more you read or watch about a subject the nore you learn.
