The end of this work week was capped off with a cornerstone of entertainment in the city with a Mixed Martials Art event held at the arena located on Hawick. This Friday night the San Andreas Fighting Association (SAFA) hosted a five round knockout stage for eight fighters, with a grand prize totaling up to $350,000 for the sole fighter who emerged victorious. Fans began pouring into the arena as the time ticked closer to the start of the heavily anticipated matches, with a few greeting their personal favorite fighters and wishing them good luck in their battle that lied ahead before they departed off to a seat. The building slowly but surely filled up as the combatants waited anxiously for their time in the spotlight with their fans, friends, and loved ones in attendance. Then, after a wait some fans might describe as forever, the first fight was officially kicked off and the night was underway.

With eight fighters, there was a total of four hard fought, seemingly strenuous fights that spanned over the course of several hours. Spectators watched closely each round as devastating punches were thrown and dodged by these impressive athletes and competitors. Cheers, boos, and gasps ringed around the arena as the participants battled each other with all of their might. The competitiveness of the fighters was unmistakable, with taunts and proclamations of victory being shouted after a round went in their favor. The audience enjoyed the theatrics displayed by the fighters, however there was one participant that was a clear fan favorite.

Jin Dae vs Lennox Wilson was the second match of the four match event, and there was no doubt that Jin Dae was the most popular and expected fighter of the night. As he was introduced as a "killer in the ring" who "uses the blood of his opponents to paint his art", the crowd roared and cheered him on, encouraging him before his fight began. Lennox Wilson, his opponent, seemed unbothered by the audience firing up Jin Dae before his match. Lennox stared him down with a blank facial expression, clearly motivated himself to win the match and move on in the tournament. As Dae approached Wilson, the ring general got in between them and began checking if the two were ready. Both confirmed their readiness, and after an expected refusal to touch gloves, they backed into their corners. As they returned to their designated spots, the support for Dae began to get louder, almost deafening. The ring general gave the two determined fighters the go ahead, and they wasted no time approaching each other.

Both Dae and Wilson were mobile and very slippery, there was significant trouble for the two to land a decisive blow. However, as the first round came to a close, both Dae and Wilson abandoned their defensive tactics and went on the offensive to attempt to catch the other fighter off guard for a quick win. Round one was very close, however Wilson eventually landed a striking, definitive blow on Dae that knocked him down. Wilson took a win in a nail-biting round one, but Dae rose up to his feet again, and after a bit of a delay for Dae to collect himself, round two started.

As the fight progressed, it was clear that Wilson's experience and expertise was simply too much for fan-favorite Dae to handle. This was much to the dismay of the spectators, with one man incessantly shouting to Dae, telling him to "Stop countering his overhand!" The advice fell on deaf ears however, as Wilson convincingly won rounds two and three. After Wilson's second round victory, Dae's condition was immediately examined by the on site paramedics in the arena. Fortunately, Dae was completely responsive and able to get away with only a minor scrape on his left eyebrow, with no other significant or lasting damage. He cheered to his fans and supporters as he exited the ring, then heading over to the judge's area to be further looked at by medical staff. Unexpectedly, however, an issue arose between Jin Dae and Los Santos MMA legend and one of the night's judges, Leonid Tukhachevsky, that ended in a way that most attendees did not want to see.

Dae ended up getting into a short lived, but surprising, bout with a judge. What was said or what transpired that ended up igniting this conflict is unclear at the moment, but what is known is that Dae initiated the quarrel in response to words that were said. A few punches were thrown from Dae, however none were thrown from Tukhachevsky. Dae and Tukhachevsky were separated after a few quick seconds with no injuries to either party. Dae parted from the arena shortly after the debacle, and Tukhachevsky returned to his seat, visually unbothered by the previous interaction. The night went on as planned without any stoppage or delay due to the incident, and everyone's attention was refocused to the center.

Mixed Martial Arts is a sport where anything and everything can happen with tensions and emotions flaring, and while this is not the first time something like this has happened, and will almost surely not be the last, this predicament was a shock to most in attendance. Dae is a loved and cherished member of the MMA and organized fighting community, a rising star in the sport, which explains why this type of reaction from him was so stunning to many in attendance on Friday night. However, many have and will chalk this up as a one-off blow up by the fighter and brush the incident off, as there was no one seriously hurt once all was said and done.

Los Santos Insider was unable to reach Jin Dae for a comment on the incident.
